Saquon Barkley has a good shot at 1,000 yards both rushing and receiving... Halfway through his rookie season, Giants running back Saquon Barkley is poised to join some rare statistical company. Barkley has 519 rushing yards and 497 receiving yards through eight games this season. That puts him on pace for 1,038 rushing yards and 994 receiving yards in 16 games. If he can stay on that rushing pace and ever so slightly increase his receiving pace, he can finish the year with 1,000 yards both rushing and receiving. That’s a rare feat indeed: Only two players in NFL history have ever done it, Roger Craig with the 49ers in 1985 and Marshall Faulk with the Rams in 1999. Unfortunately for Barkley, it’s also rare for a running back to have a season that productive on a team this bad. Craig’s 49ers went to the playoffs in 1985, and Faulk’s Rams won the Super Bowl in 1999. Barkley’s Giants are 1-7. Barkley is a bright spot for a bad Giants team, but also an unfortunate reminder that in today’s NFL, with the emphasis on the passing game, a running back can do so much. You can draft a running back second overall and he can be every bit as good as you thought he would be, and if you don’t have a good team around him, you’re going to be picking high in the draft next year, too. Hue Jackson was the 218th placed out of 219 coaches in NFL history for winning %. The only reason he wasn’t last is because the worst winning % belonged to owner coach Bert Bell of the Eagles.

The Browns fans have info posted in their forum but I felt like getting this up here for the general populous.
Report: Gregg Williams expected to be Browns interim... Having already fired their head coach and offensive coordinator today, the Browns are shuffling their current staff to cover the immediate responsibilities. According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, defensive coordinator Greg Williams is expected to be named interim head coach. Williams has head coaching experience, going 17-31 in three seasons with the Bills. That’s quite a step up after Hue Jackson just went 3-36-1. But Williams also carries the shadow of his BountyGate days as the Saints defensivse coordinator with him wherever he goes. Veteran offensive assistant Al Saunders is also on staff and could lend some stability on that side of the ball, but it seems clear the Browns are getting a head start on (another) big makeover. UPDATE 2:48 p.m. ET: The Browns have announced that Williams is the interim head coach. (NBC's PFT) ___________ ____________________ Things just got better in Cleveland...
Patriots win 25-6 as Derek Anderson leaves late with injury... The Patriots reached the red zone only three times. Their offense got into the end zone only once. Tom Brady threw no touchdown passes. Yet, New England won easily, 25-6, over the Bills. The Patriots got four field goals to build a lead and iced the game with a defensive touchdown. Stephen Gostkowski made field goals of 25, 40 and 38 yards in the first half. He also missed a 50-yarder but added a 25-yarder in the third quarter. It was more than enough as Devin McCourty iced it with an 84-yard interception return. The Patriots had not scored a defensive touchdown in 40 games. New England put together only one touchdown drive all night, going 85 yards in 10 plays in the fourth quarter. James White‘s 1-yard touchdown run with 9:58 remaining gave the Patriots an 18-6 lead. The Bills pulled out all the stops early, trying every trick play in their playbook. While they gained 310 yards, they had two turnovers — both by Derek Anderson — and kicked only two field goals. Stephen Hauschka made kicks of 47 and 51 yards. Anderson left with 1:25 remaining after a sack by Kyle Van Noy. As an athletic trainer escorted him to the locker room, Anderson held his right arm. He finished 22-of-39 for 290 yards and the interception. LeSean McCoy gained 82 yards on six receptions but rushed for only 13 yards on 12 carries. Brady was 29-of-45 for 324 yards. Julian Edelman caught nine passes for 104 yards, and White caught 10 passes for 79 yards. Receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, doubling as a running back with Sony Michel inactive, was the team’s leading rusher with 38 yards on 10 carries. Van Noy finished with eight tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. (NBC's PFT)
trade deadline is today. they said it would be a crazy trade day and week leading up to it. except for cooper, it's been quiet. hoping the eagles do something productive. they have some holes and lane johnson is hurt again.
NFL suspends Mychal Kendricks eight games... The indefinite has become definite for Seahawks linebacker Mychal Kendricks. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the NFL has suspended Kendricks eight games under the Personal Conduct Policy for his guilty plea to federal insider trading charges. Kendricks will receive credit for the three games he has missed, and he’ll be eligible to play on Monday, December 10, when the Seahawks host the Vikings. (Kendricks’ brother, Eric, plays for Minnesota.) Kendricks also may return to the Seahawks as of Week 12 and participate in meetings and practices. Kendricks has appeal rights, but no decision has been made as to whether they will be exercised. At a time when the league seemed to be determined to keep him off the field for the rest of the year, the ability to return for the final four games of the regular season and potential postseason games constitutes an unexpected win. Still, an eight-game suspension for a white-collar crime seems a little stiff, given that the baseline suspension for domestic violence is six games — and in light of the reality that the league has on multiple occasions reduced the punishment based on mitigating factors. If there’s no appeal, Kendricks will be back for the final push to the playoffs, and he could be a difference maker for a team that, as Russel Wilson recently told PFT, feels a lot like it did in 2012, when no one expected anything off a team that was a year away from a Super Bowl win. Given that Kendricks is facing a prison term that could be in the range of three years, this could be the last season of his football career. That will likely prompt him to make the most out of it. That deal makes no sense for Detroit...they're a game out of a playoff spot and just traded for a veteran DT...why would they sell off Tate now for just a 3rd rounder?
Bay Bay to the Texans for a 4th http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...exans-trading-for-broncos-wr-demaryius-thomas
EAGLES need a little more than Tate to make an impact. 57 min to go. like the move though. and LANE JOHNSON is out a month, so they need help there too.
Tate is a free agent at the end of this season and they likely weren't going to make him a fair market offer at the end of this one.
If the Jags get a deal done for Fowler it will probably be overvalued and based totally off of his draft position.
I would think the eagles need more help with their running game then their passing game, but I like tate for a 3rd a lot more than the cowboys 1st for cooper.
Packers trade HaHa Clinton-Dix to the Redskins. Aaron Rodgers trades Ty Montgomery to the Ravens for peanuts.
