their O line is going to get Wentz killed too. Secondary with Darby and Mills is total swiss cheese. Sidney Jones isn't all that great. Howie's been quiet lately. Honeymoon is over. Season is jeopardy as the schedule doesn't get easier.
I'm not pushing the panic button anytime soon. Eagles are still favoured to get a bye and then still have time to figure things out. But this next game is big. The good news is that the Vikings are having similar issues.
Chiefs rally from 10-point fourth quarter deficit to grab 27-23 win over Broncos... Patrick Mahomes and Kareem Hunt carried the Kansas City Chiefs out of a 10-point fourth quarter deficit to remain undefeated with a 27-23 victory over the Denver Broncos on Monday night. Mahomes led two touchdown drives over the final 6:27 and Hunt scored on a 4-yard touchdown with 1:39 remaining to give the Chiefs the lead. Case Keenum had a chance to flip the script on Denver’s final drive as a 36-yard completion to Jeff Heuermann moved the Broncos to the Chiefs 28-yard line. However, a missed throw to Demaryius Thomas and an unsuccessful hook and lateral call on fourth down allowed the Chiefs to hang on for the win. Mahomes completed 28 of 45 passes for 304 yards with a passing and rushing touchdown for Kansas City. Hunt gained 121 yards on 19 carries with the game-winning score. Mahomes scored on a 8-yard scramble to cap a 12-play scoring drive that give the Chiefs a 10-3 lead in the second quarter. A 42-yard pass from Keenum to Courtland Sutton set up a 14-yard Royce Freeman touchdown that evened the game at 10-10. McManus’ 34-yard field goal as time expired gave Denver a 17-14 advantage at the break. After a 21-yard Butker field goal tied the game once again, the Broncos took control. Phillip Lindsay scored on a 1-yard run to conclude a nine-play 80-yard scoring drive and a 46-yard field goal from McManus pushed the Denver lead to 23-13 with 12:47 remaining. Freeman and Lindsay combined for 136 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 20 carries for Denver. Mahomes responded with an impressive drive that overcame a pair of offensive penalties that set the Chiefs back. They faced third-and-16 and first-and-20 on the drive and converted a fourth-and-1 to ultimately find the end zone on a 2-yard pass to Travis Kelce. The Chiefs forced a three-and-out and Marquette King delivered only a 35-yard punt for the Broncos as Kansas City got a prime chance to get the score they needed. Mahomes completed a pass left-handed to Tyreek Hill to convert on a third-and-5. Then the Chiefs had to again overcame offensive penalties that put the Chiefs in a second-and-30 situation at their own 31-yard line. Mahomes scrambled to his right before hitting Demarcus Robinson for 23 yards to set up a manageable third down. Demetrius Harris broke free for a 35-yard gain down to the Denver 11 at the two-minute warning. Two plays later, Hunt scored from 4 yards out to give the Chiefs the victory. (NBC's PFT)
Report: Le’Veon Bell will report to Steelers during Week Seven bye... Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell has decided when he’ll sign his franchise tender and show up to work: During the bye week. That’s the word from Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, who reports that Bell will report in Week Seven, when the Steelers are on their bye, and that Bell plans to play for the Steelers after that. Each week that Bell stays away, he’s losing his weekly salary of $855,000. That includes the bye week, so it makes sense for Bell to report during the bye week and make the $855,000 without having to subject himself to any hits on the field. So Bell will take two more weeks off, then come back after the Steelers’ sixth game and play the final 10 games of the season — if things go according to Bell’s plan. It’s possible that everything won’t go according to Bell’s plan, especially if the Steelers get a good offer from some team looking to trade for Bell. But for now, it looks like Bell will play the Steelers’ final 10 games. (NBC's PFT) ___________ ________________________ Or he could get traded. Bell must have realized he's not worth what he thought he was on the market.
MILLS and Darby have been issues before and Howie didn't replace them or upgrade the position. a concern there. the O line is a major concern. Doug was in a funk Sunday with some play calls. Hope the Eagles right the ship this Sunday. Beating Minnesota won't be easy. Even hurt, they are a damn good offensive team.
Jaguars already ruling Leonard Fournette out this week... The Jaguars aren’t even bothering with the pretense this week. Coach Doug Marrone told reporters that he was ruling running back Leonard Fournette out for this week’s game against the Chiefs because of a hamstring strain. Fournette returned last week after a two-week absence for the same problem, but didn’t make it through the first half of their win over the Jets. That suggests this is going to be a multi-week issue, and Marrone probably deserves some credit for not playing semantic games in a vain effort to gain the mythical “competitive edge” on Andy Reid. T.J. Yeldon and Corey Grant will handle the carries in Fournette’s absence, and the Jaguars will have to count on the good Blake Bortles showing up week after week. (NBC's PFT)
Le'Veon Bell to the Eagles in 2019...? https://www.yahoo.com/sports/hearing-le-veon-bell-eagles-170354554.html
yeah but all 4 are behind the Eagles in success right now. the Eagles are the reigning SB Champs and should be solid for a few more years with Wentz as QB. Bell going to the other teams is like starting over from scratch as those teams are young and building from the ground up. well 2 of them are anyways in NY and Cleveland.
going to Pittsburgh tomorrow to see college buddies, golf 3 days and see the Steelers-Falcons with 3rd row endzone tix, on Sunday afternoon. I got my Pitt U, since my niece goes there and Steelers swag all packed. Can't wear my Eagles gear there, someone may stabbed me. oh wait, that would happen in philly. haha.
You can take the Browns off the list, we have the 6th best YPC average in the NFL...I don't think they are going to waste $15-16M per year when they have 3 RBs in the stable signed for the next 3+ years putting those numbers up behind an average offensive line. (edit) Also, the Browns rebuild started over two years ago and is just about complete. We are finally to the point that really good players are the only ones that will replace current starters in 90% of the positions. Still looking for a WR, LT and RT on offense, otherwise, we have legit starters all over the board.
