Everyone tackles players at the knees. And dozens of defenders have made the point that tackling lower to avoid hitting a player in the head is not "safer". If this is your proof Harrison is dirty you better do some more digging. I'm not talking about tackling ball carriers. I'm talking about 2 seconds after Ben has thrown the ball and Burflict dives at his legs. I'm talking about after being pancaked by DeCastro on a running play and responding, "Watch your knees." And then on the very next play running full speed at DeCastro knees with no regard for where the ball carrier is.
Aww, thanks Beach - but I did more digging. I posted some other things about Harrison, guess you just missed them.
Meanwhile... Brady signs new deal, gets $28 million bonus FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) ? Tom Brady has signed his two-year contract extension with the Patriots that will give him a $28 million signing bonus. Although Brady will earn only $1 million in base salary next season and in 2017, the bonuses will increase his cap hit to $14 million in each of those seasons. His base salary for 2018 and 2019 would be $14 million, with cap hits of $22 million each, although Brady, 38, is likely to redo those deals, too, if he is still playing. Brady has reworked his contract several times during his career, in which New England has won four Super Bowls. Brady also could face a reinstatement of his four-game suspension in the deflated footballs saga from the 2014 AFC title game. If that happens, he would lose less than $250,000 in salary. ______________________________________ We now return you to your regular scheduled program...
So you're unaware your own player is dirty? Sad, Beach. Here are a few I found in about 12 seconds. http://espn.go.com/blog/afcnorth/post/_/id/37577/steelers-james-harrison-just-isnt-learning http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/...rison-It-was-a-legal-hit/stories/201010190196 http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/sh...s-been-suspended-for-one-game?urn=nfl,wp13800 http://www.craveonline.com/site/131824-james-harrison-fined-yet-again-by-the-nfl
Harrison flagged for hitting Cutler's knees late. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/09/26/fine-for-tyrone-carter-no-fine-for-james-harrison/
Harrison fined for body-slamming Vince Young. http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2010/...son-fined-slamming-titans-qb-vince-young.html
You should read your own material. He was flagged but not fined i.e. the league didn't think it was an illegal play. I didn't recall the hit when you mentioned and now I know why. Because it was nothing. Roethlisberger actually had his knee taken out this year. Does that mean Mark Barron is dirty?
As was said earlier, the difference between Harrison and Burflict is James has been fined for tackling too high. Burflict has gone after peoples knees when they didn't even have the ball. Not to mention his specialty of stomping on other players feet.
I'm not upset. Just don't understand why you would determine the Steelers "sent Joey out to talk trash" and call it unfair to the Bengals. The truth is Joey went out out of concern for AB, same as a Bengals coach did when Bernard was hurt. According to Burflict, Joey was complimenting his play when PacMan went all PacMan and possibly cost his team the game.
The unfair I was talking about was Matt's perception of unfairness of our opinion of Harrison vs Burfict.
Harrison also has some knee shots in there, as well. Flagged for a shot to Cutler's knees, caused Wes Welker's MCL sprain... As dirty as Burfict? Maybe not. But he WAS dirty.
