I see, that's interesting and helps with clarification. I agree Dorsey maybe should have been mum, but in this particular case it may not have been necessary, I just don't know. I found the whole thing to be a bit confusing. If he isn't on the guilty side, why is he not allowed to play? Reading between the lines, he may have screwed up and checked in as you stated... but it does seem there is more to the picture than meets the eye. Time will tell.
Clearly something has happened or there would be no restrictions. The guy played the last 5 games of the year in 2017 and participated in all offseason work. My guess is it's not a failed test and whatever happened falls in the gray area of missed test / diluted test or something similar. Probably lots of negotiation going on behind the scenes.
p.s. This has become the new thing in the NFL. Substance abuse / personal conduct rules have gotten tossed out in favor of an negotiated punishment that won't be subject to appeal or litigation. Even if Gordon outright failed a test I don't think you'll see a one year banishment. They'll negotiate it down to something both sides can live with.
Kevin Johnson transported to Houston-area hospital with a concussion... Texans cornerback Kevin Johnson was transported to a Houston-area hospital with a concussion, coach Bill O’Brien said after Saturday’s preseason game. “I think he’s going to be OK, but I don’t know all the details,” O’Brien said, via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. Johnson’s injury provided a scary moment early in the game. He banged his head hard on the turf after being beaten by 49ers receiver Marquise Goodwin on a 40-yard pass. While doctors and athletic trainers attended to Johnson, players from both teams took a knee in obvious concern. Johnson walked off under his own power, escorted by two of the team’s medical personnel, and headed to the locker room. (PFT)
Zack Martin will undergo MRI, but Jerry Jones feels good about initial diagnosis... Zack Martin ended Saturday’s preseason game standing on the sideline in street clothes, which was a good sign for the Cowboys. The All-Pro right guard injured his knee during the first half against the Bengals. “I’m not thinking that Zack is problematic here,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said afterward. Martin will undergo an MRI on Sunday, but the initial examination does not have Jones worried. “I just want to say we’ve got more to gain from [the MRI], but from what we’ve seen, I’ll sleep good tonight on Martin,” Jones said. Martin signed a new deal in June that made him the highest-paid guard in the league. He has made the Pro Bowl every year since entering the NFL in 2014 (PFT)
Per Twitter - Veteran CB Orlando Scandrick is signing a 1-year, $1.5 million deal with the Chiefs, source said. Ive heard this from multiple sources, but not sure about it being confirmed. Edit; it has been confirmed.
Adrian Peterson to visit Washington Monday... There’s a need for some running back help in Washington and the most prolific rusher of the active free agents is apparently up for consideration. NFL Media reports that Adrian Peterson will visit with the team on Monday. Peterson opened last season with the Saints and averaged three yards a carry on his way to 81 yards in four games before being traded to the Cardinals. He ran 129 times for 448 yards and two touchdowns in six games before a season-ending neck injury. Peterson said in May that he’s back to full health and talked a few times about teams he’d like to join, but nothing materialized for No. 12 on the NFL’s all-time rushing list. Jamaal Charles and Orleans Darkwa were in Washington on Sunday. Derrius Guice is out for the year with a torn ACL while Samaje Perine and Byron Marshall each suffered ankle injuries against the Jets last Thursday (PFT)
The Los Angeles Chargers' aberrant injury luck shows no signs of abating. Having already lost tight end Hunter Henry and cornerback Jason Verrett to major injuries, the Bolts learned Sunday that safety Jaylen Watkins' initial test results revealed a torn ACL, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, via a source informed of the situation.

Dallas' secondary injuries (Xavier Woods, Jameill Showers) could open the door to the team looking at Iloka...or rekindling talks with Seattle about Earl Thomas.
Exactly… there will be plenty of suitors for his services. Good news for Martin and the Cowboys, by the way.
HUGE, thanks. Dodged some bullets with Martin's knee and Frederick's shoulder. If Dallas is going to do anything this year, it's going to be because their O-line is better with Connor Williams, and HEALTHY.
Incredible, the longevity of the dude. That he and Frank Gore (give that man some credit) are still banging around... unreal.
Adrian Peterson worked out for Washington on Monday and he’ll be working with Washington moving forward. NFL Media reports that Peterson will sign a deal with the team. The move comes after Derrius Guice‘s season-ending torn ACL and ankle injuries for Samaje Perine and Byron Marshall thinned out the ranks at running back for the NFC East club. Peterson played in 10 games for the Saints and Cardinals last year before a neck injury sent him to injured reserve. He said earlier this offseason that he’s back to full health, but he’d been met with a quiet market around the league this offseason until the run of injuries in Washington the last couple of weeks. Peterson had a couple of games with the Cardinals that flashed signs of his past production, but ran 156 times for 529 yards and two touchdowns overall. That anemic production wouldn’t represent much of an upgrade on Rob Kelley, Chris Thompson and the other backs already on hand, but Peterson will get a chance to prove he can still make waves now that he’s landed in Washington.
