Saints giving TE Coby Fleener a 5-year deal worth $36 million, per source. (Schefter)

Burfict was the real issue. Steelers dirty move purposely bringing in the coach to instigate. In the end didn't Jones just touch the ref to get his attention? BS.

Jones I can kinda forgive. Burfict, no. He is a complete headcase, and not in the good way that kickers can be.

 

I asked a long time ago was there anyone other than PacMan stating that Joey was talking trash? Oh and PacMan wasn't even there when Joey and Burflict were talking. He was off yelling at the ref.

Either way, Burflict answered the question:

Burfict went on to say that Jones definitely should?ve controlled his actions and especially shouldn?t have gone after Porter, which resulted in yet another 15-yard penalty on top of Burfict?s and the eventual game-winning kick.

?He made a mistake, but Joey shouldn?t have been on the field talking, Burfict told Anderson. ?Adam got my back, 100 to 110%. I respect him, because I told him, ?Man, he wasn?t saying nothing bad like that.? One of the refs was looking at Adam and right when Adam like kind of pushed Joey Porter and he was like, ?Oh, this is it, he just threw it.? So, I?m like, man, I kind of feel like we were cheated a little bit.?

Uh, no not even close.

 

Meh whatever. I couldn't even remember anymore. Jones was still an idiot but I'd still keep him on a short leash if I had to. Burfict is a joke though. By not getting rid of him they aren't helping the culture of this team. Things will just repeat itself.

 

I had to stick with my signature. Wright is a talented number two and Burkhead is a great 3 guy. Burkhead should be used more but Wright is their true #2 before draft day.

 

So you are calling Pittsburgh a joke then for sticking by Harrison's side right?

If not then this is the most hypocritical statement said today.

 

Stick to the AFC South. Cincy brought back one of their best covering corners. The only guy who shut down Antonio Brown in game 1 of their three matchup. Oh yeah and gave up one touchdown to Hopkins the whole year.

Jones earned his contract.

 

What did Harrison have to do with anything? All I said was that I think Jones could possibly stay on the team without being a liability, but that Burfict just continues the bad culture they seem to have and that of the team ignoring it.

 

Super Bowl champs find themselves scrambling for a QB



ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) ? John Elway is scrambling again.

The general manager of the Super Bowl champions has a huge hole to fill with Brock Osweiler bolting to the Houston Texans 48 hours after Peyton Manning's retirement.

That leaves Trevor Siemian as the only quarterback on the Denver Broncos' roster. The second-year pro from Northwestern has taken just one NFL snap, a kneel-down at that.

If Elway's sweating it, he's certainly not showing it.

"We've stayed true to our philosophy of building a team with players who want to be Denver Broncos and want to be here. That's been a successful approach for us," Elway said. "While we did offer a very competitive and fair long-term contract to Brock, we ultimately had to remain disciplined while continuing to assemble a roster that can compete for championships."

So, now the man who famously declared there was no Plan B when he lured Manning to Denver four years ago must find a passer who will defend Denver's title in 2016.

"We've now turned our attention to other options at quarterback and we are confident that we'll find the right player and person for our team," Elway said. "Our organization thanks Brock for his contributions and wishes him all the best."

Elway could turn to free agents such as Robert Griffin III or Ryan Fitzpatrick ? whose agent, Jimmy Sexton, also represents Osweiler. Or he could pursue a trade ? Colin Kaepernick, anyone? He'll almost certainly select a quarterback in the early rounds of next month's draft, too.

Osweiler made $660,000 last year and Denver offered him about $16 million a year. ESPN reported Osweiler's four-year deal with the Texans is worth $18 million annually with $37 million guaranteed.

"Shocked," tweeted Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. "I thought Brock wanted to play with us lol"

Instead, he'll play against them ? the Texans are among the teams that'll visit Denver next season when the Broncos become the sixth team to open defense of its Super Bowl championship with a new QB under center.

They're the first to lose their top two quarterbacks and face this level of uncertainty.

The Broncos also will have to replace defensive end Malik Jackson, who went to Jacksonville for six years and $90 million, and linebacker Danny Trevathan, the leading tackler on the league's No. 1 defense, who rejoined John Fox in Chicago on a four-year deal worth $28 million.

Elway's main offseason priority was keeping Von Miller, so he placed the exclusive franchise tag on his star linebacker. That bought him more time to work out a long-term deal with the Super Bowl MVP ? and paved the way for Osweiler's big payday.

Osweiler's value skyrocketed when Kirk Cousins and Sam Bradford re-signed with their respective teams in recent days, leaving Osweiler as the top QB available, and then the Texans decided he was their man.

And in the aftermath of Denver's win, Elway said he wanted Osweiler back, proclaiming: "We wouldn't have been world champs without Brock."

Denver's recent offer sat for several days without a reply, however, and another ominous sign came Monday when Osweiler was a no-show at Manning's farewell news conference.

Osweiler was the only quarterback ever drafted with the explicit intent of one day succeeding the icon the late Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams dubbed "the Great Peyton Manning."

Instead, he's replacing Brian Hoyer.

Burfict has said he has to adjust his game in order to comply with the NFL. He is being punished by the NFL. To criticize the Bengals for not releasing him and continuing to let it happen. Without having previously said anything about James Harrison is hypocrotical. I am tired of it. If Burfict was on your team, you would be defending him until the end.

 

I'm not a Steelers fan. I never brought Harrison into the conversation.

 

I didn't say you were, but what I am saying is that I can't remember 1 time, James Harrison and the culture he brought to the Steelers.

The Bengals with Vontaze Burfict have been to the playoffs every year. They win! Most people that are here for a number of years have critcized Dalton, but he wins.

Adam Jones was one of the leagues best corners last year and plays with emotion and the Bengals get criticized for the move.

If you have no passion, you end up like Detroit, crying with 2 #2 wide receiver and a retired #1 after a short NFL career. Or Tony Romo, when his girlfriends watched him play.

 

Winning is and always has been the bottom line. Character, problems on the field and off, are always overshadowed and turned a blind eye to if you win.

 

Philly sports media reported that Daniel is in Philly to groom the next future QB in Pederson's system so expect the Eagles to draft a QB in the draft and let Daniel groom him...
