Axe was saying if the Eagles gave up their 4th to trade up with the Ravens they'd be out of their 4th to go along with the 2nd they already lost to the Rams. I said they still have an extra 3rd thanks to trading the Lions a 4th round pick last year at the draft.
BTW, Sanu's deal is not done, Falcons announced official visit tomorrow and Sanu's camp announced Patriots visit after Falcons.
Lol I know about James Wright but man I'd rather the team used Burkhead more at WR. And ya I noted that the deal for Sanu isn't done.
NFL announces Chiefs to forfeit 2016 3rd round pick and 2017 6th round pick for violating Anti Tampering Policy In addition to lost draft picks, Chiefs' organization fined $250,000. Andy Reid fined $75,000 and John Dorsey fined $25,000. It was for Maclin last season. Doesn't do the tampered team or late draft prospects any good. You'd think the picks or something would go to the team that lost the player. (I thouht this in prior years as well, not just because it was an Eagle)
Complete ****ing joke. How did the Jets only get a 100k fine for tampering with Revis? I'm livid. Why are the Jets the only team that never lose picks for tampering? Tampered with Deion Branch and DeSean Jackson and weren't punished for that either.
So after all the crap that happened today the Eagles now have pick 96 in the draft before comp picks. Value wise it is now essentially the last comp pick of the 3rd round, but tradeable. Why? Well they are the 2nd pick of the 4th and 2 picks before it were forfeited. Really it doesn't mean much, but it's cool. It will end up being pick 99 or 100 after 3-4 comp selections at the end of the 3rd.
Teams have been busted over the years though and lost picks. Lions (vaguely mentioning players) and 49ers (tampering with Briggs) come to mind. If I'm the Chiefs right now I'd be absolutely livid. The Jets were busted tampering and the Dolphins obviously tampered with Suh as did the Eagles with Maxwell. There's noway the Chiefs should accept that punishment. That's not fair at all unless there's more punishments on the way. A 3rd round pick is nothing to scoff at either. I even mentioned in this thread that Goodell was arbitrarily going to lay down the hammer and here it is.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ng-penalty-inconsistent-with-past-discipline/ Look no further than the Jets last offseason. How did they get a 100k fine and the Chiefs 250k?
Detroit Lions re-signing DT Haloti Ngata to 2-year deal The Lions locked down another starting defensive tackle. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports Detroit is re-signing Haloti Ngata to a two-year deal, per a source informed of the contract. At 32, Ngata isn't the dominant defender he was in Baltimore, but he can still command double teams and push the pocket on quarterbacks. After dealing with nagging injuries early in the 2015 season -- his first in Detroit -- Ngata came on strong down the stretch of the season. He compiled 25 quarterback hurries last season, including 12 in the last five games.
