Titans and Taylor Lewan reach five-year deal...

Taylor Lewan can safely practice now, as long as he leaves his wallet in the locker room.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Titans have agreed to a five-year, $80 million deal with their left tackle, which includes $50 million in guarantees.

That makes Lewan the highest-paid lineman in the league, surpassing the deal Nate Solder got with the Giants earlier this offseason (four years, $62 million).

The two sides have had an amicable negotiation (despite his skipping mandatory minicamp), and Lewan showed up for camp on time, though he stayed out of team drills until the deal was done.

It's lasted 19 bad seasons...BECAUSE of what we had prior to those 19 seasons. Beating Pittsburgh will just add fuel to our fire!!

It’s been a busy week for Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff.

He signed a contract extension that runs through the 2022 season, struck a deal that got wide receiver Julio Jones to report to camp and now he’s closing in on an extension with left tackle Jake Matthews. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Falcons are finalizing a deal with the 2014 first-round pick.

Rapoport reports that it is a five-year deal with a total value of $75 million. No other information regarding guaranteed money has been reported. The news comes shortly after the Titans signed Taylor Lewan, another 2014 first-round pick, to a five-year deal worth a reported $80 million.

Matthews has started every game he’s played for the Falcons since being drafted and has missed just one of the team’s games over that span.

The Falcons have also reportedly been working toward extensions for defensive tackle Grady Jarrett and safety Ricardo Allen, so Dimitroff probably won’t be taking much of a breather after getting things done with Matthews.

Plenty of reasons for Browns fans to be excited. Week 1 is when the rest of the world will take note.

He's going to be one of the more interesting story lines to watch this season. A lot hangs in the balance with his play. If he's on, what an offense they will have.

Besides, I own him in a Fantasy League too. ;)

That's true, the pessimistic viewpoint of most fans will think it's a fluke when the Browns send the Steelers home with soiled diapers.

Week two will solidify that they are truly back and put the rest of the league on notice.

Oof. Ouch. What a shame. Is there a team in the sport that has been more torpedoed by injuries over these last few years? That's coming from a Bears fan, whose team, when I check a year or two ago, consistently had the most games missed by injured players. Difference is, the Chargers always looked poised to do some damage. And then... what a shame.

I usually stay out of this trash talk but if you want to know why so many fans kick you guys when you're down it's because of these kind of statements. Not a day goes by where I don't see a Browns fan talking about whipping the Steelers Week 1. I think the Browns have done a nice job building that roster over the last two years but they still aren't as talented as the Steelers. Beating the Steelers Week 1, even at home will be an upset if it happens. So why not just sit back, be happy the team appears to be going in the right direction and stop with all the trash talk?

Well he's only played in 5 games the last two years anyway, and that's why I dealt him away in the G.M.O. for an early round draft pick, as one of my first orders of business, without a second thought. Dude can't get on the field....
