I'm sure Seattle knows what it's doing but without Bennett and Sherman, the team will look a little different this fall...

 

Sherman would be a big-time FA if the Hawks release him. I wonder if his injury has anything to do with this or is it purely a cap move?

 

That was for LAjoe ( LAOJoe) because you left out the O and I do all the time too. Sorry Joe, but it probably won’t be the last time. It just isn’t natural to put that O there.

 

The NFLPA wants the "invasive" questions given to combine participants to stop. LSU's RB Derrius Guice was asked if he "likes men" and one person told him that there's a rumor going around about his mother being a prostitute. I see that these are questions to produce a reaction and that seems to be the basis for them, but the NFLPA says... ENOUGH.

bidding war for Peyton Manning to be in the broadcast booth between ESPN and Fox. $10 million dollars per year. Wow. That's a lot of coin for a guy who has no prior experience calling a game.

49ers sign Marquise Goodwin to three-year extension



Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo isn’t the only member of the 49ers offense with a new deal from the team.

The 49ers announced that they have signed wide receiver Marquise Goodwin to a three-year extension through the 2021 season. Josina Anderson of ESPN reports the deal is worth $20.3 million with $10 million in guaranteed money.

“From the minute Marquise joined our team, he has shown us everything we want to see in a 49er,” General Manager John Lynch said in a statement. “He leads by example with a tremendous work ethic, a trait that helped him expand his repertoire as a football player and post his most successful season as a pro last year. Marquise earned this extension by coming in every day focused on doing his job and, as a result, he made himself and his teammates better.”

Goodwin is set to make $1.45 million this season under the terms of the two-year contract he signed with the 49ers last offseason. He led the team’s wideouts with 56 catches and 962 yards while also scoring two touchdowns. He had 29 catches, 384 yards and a touchdown after Garoppolo took over as the starter for the final five games of the season.

The other touchdown was an 83-yarder against the Giants in November in what would be the 49ers’ first win of the year. It came hours after Goodwin and his wife Morgan lost their son due to a complication with Morgan’s pregnancy.

Now go get another weapon, add a dual threat tailback, take the reigns off the offense and watch them roll up a lot of yardage.

 

They are getting real close to being a force to reckon with, not just in the West either.

 

I'm really interested in what goes on in that division this off-season.

If the Cards get it right, the West will be the toughest division for a team to climb to the top of the mountain.

 

With the Seahawks blowing up the D you would have to think they are at worst the second best team in the West (that is if you are sold on the Rams being real).

 

That is really cool.

seems Bennett was a PITA for the Seahawks coaching staff last year. No wonder they got him out of town - cheap!

 

Seattle Seahawks...

The Seahawks are dumping players left and right on defense. On offense, though, they're looking to add help. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported veteran RB Jonathan Stewart is visiting Seattle on Thursday.

 

Bennett a pain... nothing new there. Hell of a good football player, but a major dork in my book. Of course, he thinks the same thing about me too.

 

Peyton did stuff like this too. Both those guys are pretty cool and do special things like that for their fans. Got nothing but respect for them.
