Late Mitch Trubisky INT sets up Vikings game-winning field goal in 20-17 win over Bears The Minnesota Vikings converted a Mitch Trubisky interception into a 26-yard Kai Forbath field goal with 12 seconds remaining to grab a 20-17 victory over the Chicago Bears on Monday night. Making his first career start for Chicago, Trubisky led a game-tying drive early in the fourth quarter to knot the game at 17-17. But backed up at their own 10-yard line, Trubisky tried to sneak a pass in to tight end Zach Miller up the right sideline that was undercut by Vikings safety Harrison Smith. The interception gave Minnesota possession at the Chicago 28-yard line and led to the game-winning kick from Forbath in the closing seconds. Trubisky finished his first career start with 128 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

New England Patriots... Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wasn’t at the portion of Tuesday’s practice open to the media and there wasn’t any word from the team about his whereabouts as they aren’t required to release an injury report until Wednesday. According to a report from Tom Curran of NBC Sports Boston, his absence was due to a test on his left shoulder. Curran reports that Brady had an MRI done on his non-throwing shoulder and that the results were negative when it came to a serious injury. Curran’s colleague Mike Giardi reports that Brady’s injury is an AC joint sprain and that he was initially hurt on a sack by Julius Peppers in their Week Four loss to the Panthers and then aggravated it against the Buccaneers last week. Brady, who has been sacked 16 times this season, is expected to practice the rest of the week and play against the Jets this Sunday.
Minnesota Vikings... Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford returned to the starting lineup on Monday night after missing three games with a knee injury, but he was out of the game before the end of the first half when it was clear that he wasn’t well enough to handle the job. On Tuesday, Vikings trainer Eric Sugarman provided an update on Bradford’s condition in a meeting with reporters. Sugarman said that Bradford had an MRI that showed no new injury and offered a different description of the quarterback’s injury than the bone bruise that’s been discussed for much of the last month. “We’re not dealing with a ligament injury to Sam,” Sugarman said, via Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “We’re not dealing with a bone bruise from a direct hit … wear and tear in knee joint.” Sugarman also said that the team felt Bradford was well enough to protect himself when the game began — “We would never put a player on the field we thought could not protect themselves” — although that obviously changed as the first half unfolded. He also said that Bradford can “absolutely” make a full recovery, but didn’t say when and Monday night’s false start makes it hard to expect it is right around the corner.
Browns name Hogan starting quarterback... The Cleveland Browns named Kevin Hogan their starting quarterback, the team announced Wednesday. Hogan will make his first start of the season on Sunday against the Houston Texans. “I’ve made the decision to start Kevin this week. We’ve liked what Kevin has been able to do within our offense when he’s been in there and he will start on Sunday because that’s what we feel is best for our team at this point in time," Browns head coach Hue Jackson said. "This does not change the way we feel about DeShone going forward. He has worked extremely hard and still very much has a bright future. Right now, it’s better for him and his development to back up Kevin.” Hogan takes over for rookie Deshone Kizer, who was benched during the Browns' 17–14 loss to the New York Jets in Week 5. In relief of Kizer, Hogan went 16–19 for 194 yards and two touchdowns. Cleveland enters this week ranked 31st in scoring offense, averaging 15.4 points per game.
