As a fellow Bloomsburg alum, I'd like to see Jahri in Dallas. But it already sounds like Malcolm Jenkins is trying to recruit him for the Eagles - and Evans is from Philly.

Do the Eagles have enough money? Didn't they just re-sign a bunch of their own free agents to some fairly lucrative contracts?

Here are the possible cuts and cap savings.

Mark Sanchez $3.5M ($4.5 if traded)
    Connor Barwin ($6.1M if traded)
    DeMeco Ryans $3.5M

They also got rid of Cooper and a few more could be coming. The main key is Bradford.

  4. AxeMurderer Legend Cowboys

They did. I'm not sure how up-to-date some of the salary cap sites are, but they have Philly as being in good shape, cap-wise. Cutting Cooper saved money, extending Celek saved money.

Last I heard Bradford wanted $20 MIL. as a starting point. I don't think he's worth it but do the Eagles pay him that much just because theres nobody else out there? Thats a big hit to the salary cap for a guy that isn't that good and not worth the money, imo.......He seems to be looking for top QB money but hasn't done anything to prove he deserves it! I thnk the Eagles ought to let him go and look in the draft. There are some QB's in the draft that could be good with experience......It's a roll the dice sort of thing. But Bradford is not worth what he thinks he is!!!!!

  6. AxeMurderer Legend Cowboys

I thought it was $25 mil...? Either way, as you said, it's only a starting point - he's getting nowhere near that.

Problem is, drafting at 13, the clear cut Top 3 (Goff, Wentz, and Lynch) are likely off the board by then.

The Eagles could trade up, but they don't have a #2 to package - they'd have to part with their #1 and a #1 next year.

believe it or not, i am hearing on a ton of sports talk radio - they want nick foles back for cheap and to cut bradford and still work the draft for a QB.

this makes sense as they will not franchise tag bradford. foles is stinky but the team isn't going anywhere in '16 so roll with Nick till '17.

So they are in tough situation, right? They could let him go and see what other offers he gets? They have the right to match any offer, right? Probably a better way to go because I don't see him getting offered $20 MIL. by another team and giving up 1st rounders.........

  9. Catfish Guest

agreed. he wanted $25 mil per season 3 weeks ago. he's out of his mind!

  10. AxeMurderer Legend Cowboys

His contract expires at the beginning of the league's new year (March); if it gets to that, he'll be an UNrestricted free agent and, no, the Eagles won't have the ability to "match" any offer.

I think this draft has some good QBs in the middle rounds. They could always get one with one of their 3rd round picks, or use both to trade into the 2nd. I have no clue what the QB situation is going to be from 1-12 but if the Eagles let Sam go there is a chance one of those teams that could go QB sign Bradford and don't draft one in the 1st anymore. That could help the Eagles get a top 3 QB.

Heck already some people have only 1 QB going in the top 12.

  12. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

    That's old rumors...

Roseman said a couple of days later, Foles would not be returning to Philadelphia.

I don't know what you mean by cheap, but Foles is set to make $8.75M this year(If traded the Rams would be on the hook for $2M this year of bonus money and new team would owe remaining $7.75M)...The Rams would lose $8M of that, if they cut him, so that isn't happening. It would have to be a trade. Roseman never wanted him and now that he is back in power, he isn't going back to the city of brotherly love.

ok dawg-just saying it was on the radio this morning on my way to work!

i want no part of bradford or foles!

i meant cheap vs $20 million for bradford.

    Raiders re-sign safety Nate Allen

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) ? The Oakland Raiders re-signed safety Nate Allen on Thursday, two days after they released him.

Terms of the new deal weren't disclosed. Allen's initial $4.9 million salary for next season would have been guaranteed if he was on the roster Wednesday.

Allen was limited to five games last season because of knee injuries. He had 14 tackles, an interception and two passes defensed.

The former South Florida player signed with Oakland as an unrestricted free agent in March 2015 following five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Raiders agree to extension to remain at Oakland Coliseum

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) ? Four weeks after being stymied in their effort to move to Los Angeles, the Raiders agreed to a one-year extension lease extension on Thursday to remain at the Oakland Coliseum through the 2016 season ? and possibly beyond.

Raiders owner Mark Davis, who had been mulling multiple options to move his team since being passed over by the NFL's other owners to relocate the Raiders to Southern California, called the deal a "win-win" for both sides.

"It gives us an opportunity to work on a permanent facility for the Raiders here in Oakland," Davis told reporters. "It gives us some certainty for this season as well as flexibility for the following two seasons."

The agreement with the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Joint Powers Authority guarantees that the Raiders will play the 2016 season in the same stadium they have called home since 1995. It also carries two one-year team options.

The deal still needs approval of the Oakland City Council and Alameda County Board of Supervisors. Both are expected to meet to discuss the terms of the agreement within the next two weeks.

"I feel very optimistic about the situation," JPA Chair and Oakland City Councilman Larry Reid told The Associated Press. "It gives (Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf) and her team an opportunity to work with the Raiders on putting together a perm facility that will keep the Raiders here in the city of Oakland. This is an NFL city."

Raiders have 2 separate 1-year options to extend the contract for 2017 and 2018 so that they don't have to go through these shenanigans again. But that should be IT! The Raiders will be in a different stadium in some other city unless Oakland forks up $200+ Million at least. At the moment they want to give $0. If the Chargers stay then the Raiders are going to LA. If the Chargers move but the citizens of San Diego vote in favour of paying for a new stadium then the Raiders probably move to San Diego. If the Chargers move to LA and San Diego won't fund a stadium then the Raiders will likely try to move to Las Vegas. And if that is shot down by the owners then San Antonio is probably the final landing spot if they can get the money right. If they don't the last resort is St. Louis as they are willing to fork up the money the Raiders would need and the NFL would likely still give them the $100M bonus to stay in a current city and waive the relocation fee just as they would if the stayed in Oakland or moved to San Diego.

That is the likely order of the Raiders choices. Now to summarize the order again:
    1. Oakland
    2. Los Angeles
    3. San Diego
    4. Las Vegas
    5. San Antonio
    6. St. Louis

Each of those cities has a place for the team to stay while a new stadium is built. Oakland, San Diego and St Louis have Stadiums used by NFL teams last year. Las Vegas has Sam Boyd Stadium which seats 40,000 and is used by UNLV and was used by the Vegas CFL and XFL teams before. San Antonio has the Alamo Dome which seats up to 72,000 and plays host to the Alamo Bowl and the All-American Bowl as well as the UTSA home field and former field of the CFL Texans. And of course LA has a bunch of stadiums if the Inglewood Stadium isn't complete yet, like the Rose Bowl or Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

    Good info Joe!!

Honestly, if the Raiders move, and I hope they don't, but if they do..I am hoping for a Vegas move. I would immediately buy stock in Treasure Island, as that's where all the Raiders Nation will want to stay of course. *YES*

Running back Matt Forte done in Chicago after 8 seasons

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) ? Matt Forte won't be returning to the Chicago Bears for a ninth season.

The two-time Pro Bowl running back announced on Instagram Friday morning that the team informed him this week it will not offer him a contract for next season. The team confirmed it, calling him one of the "all-time great Bears."

He will be an unrestricted free agent and can sign with any team beginning March 9.

Drafted in the second round by the Bears in 2008, Forte emerged as one of the most successful running backs in franchise history. But he is 30 years old and the team has a long list of needs following a six-win season.

Forte says his "only regret" is not winning a Super Bowl with Chicago.
