David Johnson needs wrist surgery, expected to miss 2-3 months

The news the Cardinals feared has been confirmed: David Johnson is expected to miss most of the season.

Johnson, the Cardinals running back who may be their most important player, needs wrist surgery and is expected to miss two or three months and go on injured reserve, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Going on injured reserve means Johnson will miss at least eight weeks. If it turns out to be three months, he’ll miss 11 games. Given the way the Cardinals played on Sunday in Detroit, and how they’re likely to play without Johnson, it’s entirely possible that they’ll fall out of playoff contention and decide when Johnson is ready to return that it’s not worth risking him for the last few games of the season.

^^ As a owner of Johnson in 2 leagues, seeing this news is like riding on the Titanic and here comes the iceberg !

Danny Woodhead to miss 4-6 weeks with hamstring injury...

Glad I traded Woodhead and Ross for Jeffery and Flacco. It made me pick up Cohen. Robinson and Johnson are out and I now have some capable alternatives.

It's still early. On both Ross and Jeffery.

In Flowery Branch, the rain from Irma started yesterday morning and continued through early afternoon today. Most of the area was without power for a while yesterday and most of today, and several local roads (including one that leads directly to the team facility) had issues with fallen trees. Schools and government buildings were closed today throughout north Georgia, and some school systems in the area have already announced closures again tomorrow.

But in a typical week of preparation, Monday is mostly film review and working with the trainers while Tuesday is generally the players' day off. The impact on the team's prep for this weekend's game should have been minimal. The bulk of practice is Wednesday through Friday. The rain has ended and the power is back on in the area - at least for now. (I wouldn't be surprised if some road crew accidentally knocked out power again. It happens often enough here even without a tropical storm.)

I don't know of any damage to the team facility. I avoided driving by there as all the traffic lights throughout the area were out.

    Moss is in.

    :vik:

any why isn't TO in ? Moss was just as idiotic as Owens was? These voters are very fickle and hold grudges!

  16. Willie Head Coach Manager News & Notes Vikings

Well, what did Moss do? Moon the Packers fans... Too me its apples and oranges. TO is on a level all too himself.

(and I'm a biased Vikings fan who loves Moss)

YUUUUUUUUUGE Randy Moss fan here. He played college ball at Marshall (w/Pennington) and basically put them back on the D1 football map. Marshall is located in the town where I grew up. Randy was no where near the clown that TO was. One moon cannot equal ALL the buffoonery TO brought to the NFL. Moss had a (weed) rep in college and it brought his draft stock down, but that was it. The Vikings scored one of the greatest WRs the NFL has ever seen. Randy Moss should be a HoF automatic.

Ray Lewis is going to be unanimous. So many good players on the list.

I agree, but he does have the whole murder issue hanging over his head. Some of these voters are old school and if it gets brought up in deliberation, it could sway the field enough to table him for a year. On play, he's first ballot, and I believe he gets in regardless, but it isn't a lock first year only because of the shady history off the field.
