I love to hate the Seattle Seahawks, especially after the playoff game last year. Now they get Richardson and a decent defense gets even better. Those dirty flying rats, lol!
Not a good day for the international WR prospects. Vikings released last year's draft darling Moritz Boehringer, while the Falcons released French receiver Anthony Dable.
Saints receiver Willie Snead won’t play in the first three games of the season. Snead has been suspended for three games for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy, according to multiple reports. “It’s unfortunate, and knowing Willie, a bit surprising,” Saints coach Sean Payton said. The 24-year-old Snead had 72 catches for 895 yards lsat season, and with Brandin Cooks now gone Snead was expected to play an even bigger role this year. Snead’s absence will result in the Saints relying even more on newcomer Ted Ginn early in the season.
Seahawks are finalizing a trade with the Vikings to send CB Tramaine Brock to Minnesota, source says. Hearing its for a 7th round pick...
Has anyone really seen anything shocking cuts yet? I can't say that any name I've seen is shocking. Joe Haden is the closest thing.
In a surprise move, the Browns have traded a draft pick for a player. The Steelers sent receiver Sammie Coates and a 2019 seventh-round draft pick to Cleveland for a sixth-round pick in 2018, the team announced. In Pittsburgh, Coates became expendable when Martavis Bryant was cleared to return from a substance-abuse suspension. The Browns wanted to give rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer another target, and now they have. The trade is a surprise because the Browns have been adamant about adding to their haul of draft picks, not trading picks away. Coates has two more years on his contract at very affordable salaries of $615,000 this year and $705,000 next year, however, so the Browns think he fits in what they’re trying to do.
If you stop and think about, Will . . . The Browns still have the same number of draft picks over the next two years. All they did to get Coates was swap a 6th rd pick in 2018 for a 7th rd pick in 2019.
I agree, Lyman. Coates was basically a free-bee too and the Browns still have a stock-pile of Draft Picks. Its strange to me that the rivals would deal with one another in the first place... kind of unusual.
Even if he does drop the ball, Haden will probably pull his hammie on the play! Besides . . . We're used to receivers who can't catch.
Patriots reportedly trade Jacoby Brissett to Colts in exchange for Phillip Dorsett With Andrew Luck's status still in doubt for Week 1, the Colts made a huge move on Saturday to add a quarterback who might very well be the team's starter for their regular-season opener against against the Rams. According to ESPN.com, the Colts have acquired Jacoby Brissett from the Patriots in a trade that will send wide receiver Phillip Dorsett to New England. Colts owner Jim Irsay basically admitted this week that Luck likely wouldn't be on the field for his team's opener in Los Angeles. "I would say, again, the odds are most likely he probably won't open up against the Rams," Irsay said Thursday. "But let me be clear about it -- in our minds, it's something that we haven't ruled out. We're going to see where he's at. It would be awesome [if he can play]."
