Early on Thanks were only really given by fanboys propping eachother up. That's still how you get most. Being a Bengals fan you were alone lol. Heck I only have 1 other Eagles fan and I only recently started getting them from him lol.
I finally have a break between Editing Stripe Hype, Podcasts, and well life. I figured I would see what the old gang was up too.
Rules changed very quickly when Sports Illustrated took Fansided over and I was told I was the editor of the site. My world flipped upside down!
LMAO I just noticed your Stripe Hype bio shows your Twitter and it's still @MattWillsonMNC Mud N Cleats
Nice! Good to hear things are going well for you. *THUMBSUP* Any chance you are going to be around for Joe and RT's official mock draft this off-season? It would be nice to have someone that follows the Bengals as closely as you do represent them.
You can do it under the pretense that you are writing about it on your other site. I'm sure Tim would welcome the hits over losing an article that was based on an event here.
I will definitely stick around Sports Illustrated has loosened the reins on us a little bit, so I plan to stop by now and then. I always did love writing and talking sports here.
FanSided and SI when I became editor became so tight because of BR editors and SB Nation editors that were in the group were given strict ultimatums, it almost became solitary confident but the pay almost quadrupled to 100-150 a month sometimes even more and the exposure on si.com there was an insane amount of pressure to perform
It doesn't excuse me fully disappearing without explanation but I was kind of embarrassed with the situation I was put in and made a poor decision for that I apologize
We're good Matt. You're one of four writers here that went on to bigger sites and did well which is pretty cool IMO. *DRINK*
Absolutely and glad to hear that others have benefited from this site as well. We just had our first week over 115K page views. So we are growing and our staff is rocking! I never took off the MNC at the end of my twitter handle, as Joe said, just as a reminder to where it all started!
Former Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator Jim O'Neil has landed on his feet in San Francisco. The 49ers have hired O'Neil to run Chip Kelly's defense, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, via a source involved with the situation.
For the second time this week, the Philadelphia Eagles have done business with a tight end. The team ocnfirmed Tuesday that Brent Celek agreed to a three-year deal. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported it is a $13 million extension that includes $6 million guaranteed, according to sources with knowledge of the deal. ESPN's Adam Caplan had the first report. Celek, 31, was set to enter the final year of his contract, which was due to pay him $5 million in 2016. The move comes one day after the Eagles and Zach Ertz agreed on a five-year, $42 million extension. After the Ertz deal, it seemed possible the Eagles would decide to part ways with Celek after nine seasons. Instead, we get an early glimpse into the kind of offense new coach Doug Pederson wants to run in Philly. Celek will likely handle the majority of blocking assignments, allowing Ertz to focus on his primary strength as a pass-catcher. (NFL.com)
