The second annual NHL Mock Draft is getting set up for later this month. This year we have the added benefit of the Vegas Golden Knights expansion draft. Because the tighter than usual window due to the expansion draft and the start of the player draft, we'll probably keep the NHL Mock to 3 or 4 rounds.

I hope the link above takes you directly to the NHL Mock Draft board on the hockey forums. Go ahead and select your teams!

The Detroit Lions' revamped offensive line took a big hit.

Coach Jim Caldwell announced Tuesday that left tackle Taylor Decker underwent shoulder surgery Monday after suffering an injury last week during non-padded organized team activities.

Caldwell did not give a timetable for Decker's return. The coach said he would update the second-year player's status at the start of training camp. Caldwell added he doesn't think the surgery should cost Decker his entire 2017 season.

It's a blow for Decker, who is coming off a promising rookie campaign. Decker anchored Matthew Stafford's blindside last season, allowing 4.5 of 37 team sacks allowed. The Lions expected the left tackle to further improve in Year Two, solidifying a line that added highly paid right tackle Ricky Wagner and guard T.J. Lang.

Caldwell said Wagner would remain at right tackle. Joe Dahl, Corey Robinson and Cornelius Lucas are candidates to replace Decker on the left side. Dahl played with the first team in Monday's practice, per the Detroit Free Press.

Jets releasing veteran linebacker David Harris

The Jets have not been shy in aggressively parting ways with franchise legends over the past two years. On Tuesday, veteran linebacker David Harris became the latest cog in their 2009 and 2010 AFC title runs to fall by the wayside.

The Jets are releasing the 33-year-old, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. A second-round pick out of Michigan in 2007, Harris has missed just one game in the last eight years. A staple at middle linebacker through three different head coaches, he was one of the team's unquestioned leaders during the height of their success seven years ago.

New York Jets to part ways with wideout Eric Decker

At this rate the Jets will have no team in a months time...

I actually think this is good for the Jets. The slipping treadmill of mediocrity is no place to be. Looks like they're pushing in their chips for Darnold or one of the other QBs in the next draft.

They will certainly be creating some Cap Space. And maybe get younger and sign a few good FA's. They are shooting right now to be one of the worst football teams around, at least for right now. Hopefully they have a good and quick rebuild.

so now decker and maclin are out there as FA WR's. Who will sign them now?

  14. gidion72 Legend Steelers

The Ravens are the neediest team when it comes to WRs, especially with Pitta probably hanging them up now with his 3rd hip injury.

  15. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

IDK, the last time I looked, the Browns aren't knee deep in WR's either. And they have the cap space to sign either (or both).

i wish the Eagles had some money to sign one and cut Aghlor.

One mans trash is anothers treasure. Either Maclin and/or Decker could really help a team out pronto.

I'm a bit surprised that the Rams didn't reach out to either or both to gauge price and interest.

Me too. The Bears, Cardinals, Browns, Jets and Ravens should all be kicking the tires on at least Maclin.

    Here's a headscratcher... If the Jets are cleaning house why would they reach out to a retired football player? From NFL.com;

I almost get the feeling the Jets are confused or out of touch with what direction they really want to go.
