Chargers drafted Dan Feeney at 71, Patriots wanted him at?72 The Chargers got the man they wanted in the third round of the NFL draft, and not a pick too soon. Dan Feeney, a guard/center from Indiana, went to Los Angeles with the 71st overall pick in the draft. According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, the Patriots were set to take Feeney with the 72nd overall pick. With Feeney off the board, the Patriots traded down, sending the 72nd pick to Tennessee for the 83rd and 124th overall picks. Reiss notes that one of the Patriots? first priorities after the draft was giving center David Andrews a contract extension. If the Patriots had been able to draft Feeney, they might not have extended Andrews. So the Chargers? selection was bad for the Patriots, but good for Andrews, who got some job security out of the deal.(PFT)
i understand it dawg. how did these "phantom owners" get the seats anyways? when the Vet closed down all fans in the lower level got a letter from the Eagles and a choice to stay down low in the Linc and pay a seat license or be shipped up to the upper level. My brothers are regular people with home addresses, not a corporation and a corporate addresses. They had tix since 1988. How did these people or corporations in Denver get the seats? Someone had to give them the seats. Will it to them or inherit them? As long as it's corporations and not a regular person, im fine with that. But the Broncos sold them the seats in the first place, so now they're mad? Seems kind of silly they wanna go after the same entity that bought the seats from them. Broncos had no qualms with taking their money for the seats...
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/n...prove-proposal-shortening-length-of-overtime/ NFL to shorten the length of OT from 15 min to 10 min.... I guess they want more ties then ?
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...rette-blount-to-sign-oneyear-deal-with-eagles L. Blount to the EAGLES! 1 YR deal worth $2.8 Million! Love it !
Now we actually have a realistic shot this year. Mathews was never gonna be back when healthy and we know he never stays healthy.
if the EAGLES were going to go all-in bf they free up a ton of f/a cash in 2018 and bf 2-4 wrs could potentially leave the team, this is the year to do it with blount, jeffrey and smith. and they recoup f/a money i believe if they get rid of matthews. a great move all around!
Good signing for Philly. Anyone know if this will bring back future compensation to the Pats? For the haters, Blount probably would've been cut in NE. Gillislee, Burkhead, White, and Lewis ahead of him on the depth chart. And Bolden is a special teams stud and depth back if need be.
i think it was a f/a signing, so i don't think it compensates the Pats. I didn't know Burkhead signed with NE. Yeah, that's a loaded backfield and one or more had to go. Who starts at RB in NE Matty or is it a RB by Committee thing ? I love the signing by the Eagles. He's a above average RB who can get those tough 2-3 yards when needed or bust a 10-20 yarder too.
The Pats signed Blount to a May 9 tender so they could get compensation in the form of a comp pick. The Eagles don't lose anything since they were never in line for a comp pick next year anyways.
BATTERY CHARGE DISMISSED AGAINST CALEB BRANTLEY The misdemeanor battery charge against Browns rookie defensive tackle Caleb Brantley was dismissed Wednesday due to "insufficient evidence to sustain a conviction," according to Alachua County (Fla.) Court records. Brantley, who played college football at the University of Florida, had been charged on suspicion of misdemeanor battery following an alleged physical altercation with a woman, according to a Gainesville Police Department report. Brantley at the time of the alleged incident was considered one of the top interior defensive line prospects in the 2017 draft, but fell to the sixth round after his charge came to light. "I'm grateful for today's ruling," Brantley said in a statement released by the Browns. "I won't take the opportunity the Browns have given me for granted and now I can shift all my focus on working hard to make this football team while also showing my teammates, coaches, the organization and this community the type of person I really am." The Browns selected Brantley with the 185th pick in the draft, and NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported at the time that Cleveland deeply researched the matter and personally visited with Brantley before making the pick. Browns executive vice president Sashi Brown told reporters after the draft, however, the team could decide not to keep Brantley depending on the investigation into the charge. "Based on our information, we understood there was a reasonable chance that the charges would be dismissed," Brown said in a statement. "As we have previously discussed, the allegations made regarding the incident were not something we take lightly. Caleb understands that we have an expectation and standard for every member of our organization. He's a talented-young man with a great opportunity in front of him. Caleb must grow as a person from this situation. He is now able to move forward and focus on earning a spot on this roster." #stealof the draft GO BROWNS!!!
Likely a 7th. Actually it's projected that Blount cancels out out the Guy signing and that the Pats get the very last pick of the draft for Long. The essentially stole Mr. Irrelevant from the Bengals. Things can change though and the formula is still secret.
