Aaron Hernandez - a lot of wasted talent. Such a sad story from start to now it's end for all people involved.
I heard that the Jets contacted AHern and said if he could win the Lloyd appeal they would sign him. This was his response.
Just a little levity there. In all seriousness, what a truly tragic story. Now a total of four young lives wasted and a young man that had immense talent with the world by the balls that just threw it all away.
Aaron Rodgers: Tight end additions bring more?flexibility The Packers moved away from their steady diet of three-receiver packages as last season progressed and saw better results offensively as more people got involved in a less predictable attack. On Tuesday, Rodgers credited coach Mike McCarthy for ?really evolving the offense? and said that he thinks the Packers have continued to do that this offseason by acquiring tight ends Martellus Bennett and Lance Kendricks. With Richard Rodgers on hand as well, Rodgers thinks the Packers can get back to using the ?12? personnel alignment with two tight ends, two wideouts and a running back. ?I think we?re going to have a lot more flexibility in that package,? Rodgers said, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. ??12? personnel is more of a run-pass balanced personnel and it has been throughout the league and for us the past few years. The opportunity to put two guys on the line of scrimmage and have an opportunity to run right, run left and then run all of our vertical passing game is going to be something that could definitely change and be more difficult to stop.? ___________________________ This Tight-End looking Packers team just got better, especially with Aaron having more solid targets and can hit the short stuff as well as the deep. As I Vikings fan, I hated reporting that story. :!
Didn't intend to throw a wrench into the Hernandez thread flow... carry on. I probably chime in on that story later.
Fish, most of the time it's better to be wiser and have more common sense than it is to be acting like your really smart throwing a few big words around. I know I'm like this and I think you are also. It's not a put down but a compliment.......Thats all I'll say about this because Dan will read anything more I have to say and it won't be complimentary. And people have been complaining so I'll let it rest.......As far as I'm concerned , throwing around a few big words that most of the people on here don't understand isn't very smart in my book. Because nobody understands what your talking about and your not getting your point across.....So maybe we can go at it somtime in the near future. I'll look forward to it...... *OK*
Not saying this to start something, but just because YOU (or anyone) doesn't know what someone's "big words" mean doesn't mean "nobody understands" them. If someone uses a word I don't know or talks about a subject I'm unfamiliar with, I'll look it up to see what they're talking about. Instead of cursing the darkness, light a candle - have the intellectual curiosity to learn new things. OK, off my elitist, intellectually-snobbish soap box...
sorry igloo, i have no dog in this fight with you and Dan. Yes, in the past, I had my own problems with Dan. However, I admitted I was wrong more than a few times when it was made evident I was in the wrong and I hate being in the wrong. I had no qualms on admitting I was wrong, because I was wrong! Upon meeting Dan in Motown 2 and a 1/2 weeks ago, I met a real person in Dan and not some typed words behind an avatar. Huge difference there. Dan was a generous gentlemen who invited me to Detroit to see the Red Wings at the Joe bf it closed down. I was nervous meeting Dan bc of our past battles. Once I met him, I saw a different side of him. A side we rarely see on these boards. I finally saw who Dan was and is. He's a generous, smart and witty guy, and he likes to poke fun at times and has the intelligence and wordplay to back it up. He came from humble beginnings to go onto an Ivy League education and is a devoted husband, spouse and hockey fan. Any prior thoughts I had of Dan ended upon meeting him as I met the real him! Igloo-if stop taking things so seriously and loosen up a little bit, things would go a lot easier for you on here. Stop being the aggressor of every post. Stop acting so innocent on here. It's just not worth it. Your post on Hernandez and Heap was a mistake that you refused to admit. It was a simply mistake, but you took the negative and made a big deal out of a mistake you made, which made it worse. This wasn't the first time either (brady's missing jersey). Good luck to you.
Browns claim Osweiler will compete to?start When the Browns swung a hot-potato trade that brought quarterback Brock Osweiler, his $16 million guaranteed salary, and a second-round pick to Cleveland, the deal was characterized as the Browns essentially paying for an extra second-round selection. Reports immediately emerged that the Browns would try to trade Osweiler again ? and if all else failed they?d cut him. More than a month later, and with the draft barely a week away, the Browns are singing a different tune. ?We expect Brock to be here,? Browns executive V.P. of football operations Sashi Brown said at a pre-draft press conference. ?He is in and has done a good job coming in the first couple of days. He is a positive young man who has some ability and talent. We look forward to him trying to establish himself here and have a chance to compete to be the starting quarterback.? On one hand, there?s no reason not to let Osweiler try to prove himself; they?ll be paying him $16 million whether he?s on the team or not (with the possibility of saving $775,000 if he signs a one-year minimum deal elsewhere after being cut). On the other hand, it seems like a ruse aimed at either driving trade interest or at hiding the team?s plans for picking a quarterback in the draft, or possibly trading for a veteran. ____________________________________________________ Of course he's going to compete for the starting job, lol.? He's just being used and would probably like to tell a few people, a few team organizations to jump in a lake, but he cant because he's stuck between a rock and a hard place. He needs a gig so he has to keep his mouth shut. Osweiler is just a Pawn in a big game because he has just enough talent to be a viable piece in the scheme of things. It must suck to be him... I kinda feel sorry for him.
Cat, thank you for your very kind words. I thought this was supposed to have died a few days ago. Let's hope your message helps achieve that end.
The shameful thing is Fish that the Brady post was a yes or no answer basically. It got more headlines than murders on the news, which was the point of the post imo, and considered I got it off a morning tele show, I thought it was a good question to ask on here. You may have met Dan in person and he's a nice guy but he doesn't seem to comprehend my post , yet reads them anyways and and points out his negative view......I never met Dan in person so I can only go from what he says and does on this site......Thats how everybody else on here is judged whether it's right or wrong....Point in case is Dan and matt attacking my post about Hernandez and saying it was about Heap. So I explain to Dan and he needs help so Matt comes over and says he doesn't understand either which starts the ruckus. I got no complaints from anybody else but those 2 about the post, and you even pointed out what it was about but Dan was soooo smart that he couldn't figure it out so matt came over to help him out but he couldn't figure it out either. Obviously they have teamed up to attack my posts because they can't do it 1 on 1.
Please move on from this. It's a thread on NFL news and notes, not hurt feelings and HS like disagreements. They have a PM button if you have problems with people.
You don't like the continuing story of Buffalo Bill? Hey Buffalo Bill, what did you kill? Buffalo Bill. But I am only going to talk about this while my guitar gently weeps.
