Kawann Short signs 5-year, $80.5 million contract with Panthers

Staring down the prospect of losing yet another one of their defensive cornerstones, the Carolina Panthers acted Monday by signing star defensive tackle Kawann Short to a five-year deal, according to the team's official site.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the pact is worth $80.5 million with $35 million guaranteed, and that Short gets $40 million over his first two years. The contract averages $16 million per season, which puts Short in the neighborhood of Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus, and just behind the gargantuan salaries of Ndamukong Suh and Fletcher Cox. However, as contract site Spotrac points out, Short's first two years are better than almost any defensive player in football, save for Von Miller and Olivier Vernon.

Yes, the thread had posts about both Todd Heap - and - Aaron Hernandez. But you quoted a post about Heap running over his 3 year old child and then stated they should lock him [Heap] up and throw away the Keys!

Based on your post I just quoted, are we to now assume that truly is your opinion?

appreciate the sentiment Will, and its not like you started this thread or anything. i hope that no one here thinks that Dan and I are teaming up for anything. I believe that we just both have similar views on what is obvious and right in front of us.

igloo, when you want to disagree w/ something thats welcome in my eyes. however its a completely different animal when your opinion is called out, especially with facts. You seem to respond in an aggressive and even more ignorant manner and then you get yourself in these situations. not sure you even realize it much of the time.
instead of lashing out for mixing up a Heap/Hernandez quote maybe you just admit it and move on. when you start a thread asking if anyone cares about something that grows in to an enormous story maybe you just admit it and move on. dont even get me started on your hockey ignorance.

sorry for all this Tim, Id like to move on as well. i enjoy your site and forums and appreciate being able to use them. this is the reason why ive inquired about having an ignore button for specific posters here.

I had a report on a post from this thread.

Nobody reported anything on the other one.

 

I asked for some intervention on the other one and ended up getting field dressed on here.

 

I won't catch everything that happens on the boards, especially this time of year as my focus for the site is in other areas. I would not have noticed this without having the report pop up in my inbox.

After reading a bit on the thread you were pointing to I noticed that LAOJoe had stepped in. If it was something that he believed to be a serious issue I have no doubt that he would have brought it to my attention.

There's a common theme between this thread and that one. If it continues to be an issue it will be corrected.
