Vikings bring in former Rams QB Case Keenum The Vikings have found insurance for Teddy Bridgewater at backup quarterback. Minnesota has agreed to terms with former Rams quarterback Case Keenum on a one-year, $2 million deal, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported, via a source informed of the details of the contract. Although Sam Bradford is locked in as the 2017 starter, Bridgewater remains a question mark as he works his way back from last summer's devastating knee injury. When asked earlier this week if Bridgewater will ever play again, coach Mike Zimmer replied, "I honestly have no idea." That being the case, Keenum will replace long-standing No. 2 QB Shaun Hill, who remains unsigned as a 37-year-old free agent.
Miami Dolphins waive former No. 3 pick Dion Jordan The Dion Jordan saga is over in Miami. The Dolphins waived the former No. 3 overall pick on Friday with a failed physical designation, the team announced. Jordan played in 26 games with one start for the Dolphins, compiling 46 tackles and three sacks. Jordan missed the past two seasons due to suspensions for violating the NFL's policy on substances of abuse. The move saves Miami $3.2 million in salary cap space. Asked this week about Miami selecting Jordan in 2013, EVP Mike Tannenbaum -- who wasn't with the franchise when the pick was made -- had the understatement of the year: "Obviously from where he was selected to today it's not a move that's worked out," he said, via the Palm Beach Post. "It's pretty obvious..." The Dolphins traded up for the right to select the 6-foot-6, physical freak, viewing him as the needed edge rusher to pair with Cameron Wake. The Dolphins are still searching for that rush-mate.
Well, I just read they only had to give up a second round pick, so not exactly selling the farm. That guy was so physically gifted.
Good thing because Chip wanted him. Yes Lane doesn't know how to stay off the PEDs but he is actually good.
It's the Las Vegas owner of the NHL's new franchise that doesn't want the Raiders in town......Which you can't blame him for being pissed as they were the 1st team to get a contract and money with the city, imo......They have the wrong nickname though. It should be The Las Vegas Gamblers!
Jerry Jones gives rest of NFL permission to pursue Tony Romo... A.P. leaves Patriots without a deal...
Dolphins owner Stephen Ross gave players the OK to take a?knee There was some concern among Dolphins players last summer, with a few wanting to support Colin Kaepernick?s protest by taking a knee during the national anthem, but worried how it would appear in the Sept. 11 season opener. As it turns out, the guy who convinced them it was OK was Dolphins owner Stephen Ross. Dolphins defensive back Michael Thomas told Hal Habib of the Palm Beach Post that Ross made it clear to them before that game against the Seahawks that taking a stand by taking a knee was fine. Thomas said after explaining his concerns to Ross, the owner replied: ?I?ve got y?all?s back 100 percent.? ?I remember that like it was yesterday,? Thomas said. ?With everything racing through our minds, trying to decide if that was something we would actually go through with, of taking a knee, . . . September 11th ? that?s a whole different aspect. ?I saw Mr. Ross come in the locker room. I?m going up to him, trying to explain to him in a way, letting him know, like, ?Look, we?re thinking about doing this, thinking about taking a knee.? And for him to stop me and say, ?Look, Mike, whatever y?all choose to do today, I?ve got y?all?s back 100 percent? _________________ Hate to bring back the 'dead horse' to beat again, but this owner doesn't get it and is a disrespectful person. These kind of actions only worsen and strengthen the gap between sides that disagree on these subjects.
Breaking... Report: Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo plans to retire, go into broadcasting Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is planning to retire and will go into broadcasting, reports ESPN.com's Adam Schefter and Todd Archer. Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said last week that he wanted to have a decision about Romo's future with the team before training camp. There had been numerous reports about the team releasing Romo last month, but no decision has yet to be made, with reports also suggesting that Romo was on the trading block. No other NFL team publicly stepped and said they want Romo's services for the 2017 season, but FOX and CBS reportedly want Romo as a television analyst for next season. Romo, 36, was injured in the preseason and lost his starting job to rookie Dak Prescott. Prescott went on to throw for 3,667 yards and 23 touchdowns leading the Cowboys to the NFC East title and winning the Associated Press NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award. Romo has a career record of 78-49 as a starting quarterback, throwing for 34,183 yards in his 15 seasons with 248 touchdowns to 117 interceptions.
We all learned one thing. Jerry does not care for his players and everyone is nothing more than an asset. He'll take a crappy draft pick over letting someone go even when it's obvious he has no leverage. Even other teams release their guys by now. Denver and Houston are pissed because they'd have had him signed by now instead of having him go into broadcasting and Jerry Jones thinks he is a genius for not having Romo be in the league, which honestly could have been his agenda all along.
I like what other owners and coaches said. Just don't do it on September 11th at least. For all the arguments about how taking a knee isn't supposed to disrespect people that gave their lives, purposely not taking a stand on 9/11 or a similar day is basically saying you don't give a shit about them at all. The owner either plainly didn't care or didn't want to rock his own boat, in which case he still didn't care. And those players weren't going through a moral dilemma. They didn't give a crap either. They just didn't want to get in trouble. Okay enough beating this horse by me now. It's animal cruelty.
OSU S Malik Hooker, a top draft prospects, is visiting the Bears today, source said. Teammate WR Curtis Samuel was at the Bucs, now the Vikings... _________________________ I like Samuel a lot. Would be great to see him as a Viking.
And if you're thinking jj is a shrewd business man, I suppose youre correct, but i don't know another owner who, if he could save $14 million in cap space, wouldn't do the me thing.
