TRADE! The Patriots have traded their #32 & 3rd #103 pick to the Saints for wide receiver Brandin Cooks & their 4th #118 pick per sources

New England continues to dominate the NFL on & off the field

Absurd off season for us. High price tag for Cooks though.

i hate NE but this is why they win, besides having Tom Brady at QB. They need a little help, go out and get a young 23 yr old WR and add that to the core of WRs and Gronk. High price to pay but Bill will restock the kitchen with another slick trade move or moves. Congrats NE.

Yeah when they only asked for a 1st rounder only before. now that was a rumor but overall its a lot.

It's not that high at all. I gave a 2nd and 4th in the GM Office for Cooks. And I thought that was a bit of a bargain. The Pats essentially just gave a pick in the 2nd 11 spots higher. That price seems about right. The swap of a 3rd for a 4th is about the value of the 4th they received (and I gave).

After eight years, Julius Peppers is returning home to play for the Carolina Panthers ? and he'll be joined by a few other free agents, too.

The Panthers agreed to terms on a contract Friday with Peppers, said to a person familiar with the negotiations. The person spoke to The Associated Press Friday on condition of anonymity because the move hasn't officially been announced.
The length and financial terms of the deal were not immediately known.

Peppers' agent Carl Carey on Friday tweeted a picture of his client from when he was drafted No. 2 overall by Carolina in 2002 with the words "Headed home."

After reaching the deal with Peppers, the Panthers continued to make a flurry of moves.

The source also said the Panthers have agreed to terms with Captain Munnerlyn from the Minnesota Vikings. Munnerlyn, who played for the Panthers from 2009 -2013, had 55 tackles last season.

Carolina announced three other free agent signings Friday ? wide receivers Russell Shepard from Tampa Bay and Charles Johnson from Minnesota and safety Mike Adams from Indianapolis. They traded defensive end Kony Ealy and a third-round pick (72nd overall) to New England for the Patriots' second-round pick (No. 64).

Packers sign Martellus Bennett to three-year deal

Packers fans were fumed when Green Bay broke off talks with free-agent tight end Jared Cook. As it usually goes for Packers fans, the bad times didn't last long.

The Packers announced Friday they signed tight end Martellus Bennett just weeks removed from winning a Super Bowl with the Patriots. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the Packers signed Bennett for three years and $21 million.

    Peterson visiting Seahawks...

Three days ago, the Seahawks had ?no immediate interest? in running back Adrian Peterson. They apparently now do.
Peterson will visit the Seahawks, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

With the Seahawks kicking tires on other available running backs ? Jamaal Charles, Latavius Murray, and Eddie Lacy ? it makes sense to bring in Peterson, too. If nothing else, showing interest in all of them gives the Seahawks leverage with each of them, if negotiations ever commence.

Peterson is interested in both the Seahawks and Raiders, even though his father?s recent?praise of the Oakland offensive line would seem to apply both to the Vikings and to the Seahawks.

Nick Foles headed back to Philly. Now they need to find a sucker to take Chase Daniel.

heck yeah. now try and grab someone bf the draft if u can...

CBS Sportsline.com didn't like the Eagles free agency thus far and only gave them a C+. Gotta get some O-line and CBs. Not sure if they have enough cash to do so...?

Eagles don't save $7M. Firstly they would save $6M and only if traded. Released only saves $1M. However the Eagles and Chase are working on a deal to lower his guaranteed money since Chase wants to it the open market and get a new contract than get that money.
Eagles are giving Foles $11M and $7 guaranteed. They may even have lost some cap space.

? so CBS is wrong Joe? I pulled those figures from there site? So if the Eagles cut Daniel, they don't save $6-7 mil? Why not?

I saw the article. They are wrong. People in the comments even noticed. Read this instead:

well they say they're not trading daniel and then say they are trading him vs cutting him? that didn't help at all. they changed their mind in 2 different paragraphs.

and the 1 guy who commented on CBS made sense, but the cap stuff he said was way over my head. i'll just wait till something happens.

I think you read it wrong. Basically if he's getting released they probably workd out a deal where Chase gets less guaranteed money.

  19. Catfish Guest

it's probably me Joe, but they mentioned both scenarios and not being that great. it's not that important as it's Foles. haha

    Didn't Foles throw 7 TD's in a game once?
