Receivers we got. We need defense !!! Yesterday they were talking about the Pats offering up their 1st round pick this year. (#32) Saints said no. I don't care what they do with Cooks. But if they trade him,,,,, GET SOME D !!!!

I do like the younger age of Cooks, but the first rd draft pick at a cost worries me. someone on Philly talk radio said Cooks is better than any other WR FA or any rookie the Eagles would draft anyways, so just trade for him and give up the pick. Ugh. easier said than done.

    Peterson a Patriot???

Are the New England Patriots a realistic landing spot for impending free agent Adrian Peterson?
Citing a source close to the veteran running back, the Boston Herald reported Sunday that Peterson would consider accepting a team-friendly contract from the Super Bowl champions.

Peterson has pocketed close to $100 million over the past decade with the Minnesota Vikings. If he has reached a point in his career where chasing a championship is now a driving force, he could follow the well-worn path to New England, traveled in recent seasons by mercenary veterans such as Darrelle Revis and Chris Long.

The Around The NFL Podcast has highlighted several reasons to believe there might be a fit between Peterson and the Patriots.
Bill Belichick likes to be an outlier, zigging when the rest of the league zags. If one-dimensional power backs are devalued by the other 31 teams, perhaps Belichick will try to swoop in and steal the best one on the cheap as he did with an aging Corey Dillon in 2004.

he would need to accept a lesser role and less money to pull this off. 2 huge questions for AP...

Adrian Peterson might be willing to give New England a team-friendly deal in free agency, but the Patriots are not atop his list of desired landing spots.

The Raiders and Seahawks are Peterson's preferred destinations, NFL Network's Stacey Dales reported, via a source close to the veteran running back.

Dales asked for three spots and received just Oakland and Seattle in return.

That's quite a shift from mid-January when Peterson listed the Giants, Buccaneers and Texans as three teams he has considered for his post-Minnesota career.

Jermaine Gresham isn't leaving the desert.

The Arizona Cardinals announced Tuesday that they reached an agreement on a four-year contract with the impending free-agent tight end.

Cardinals announced the four-year deal for TE Jermaine Gresham. Sources say he doubled up on the $3.5m he made this year.

The Panthers aren't letting Charles Johnson walk out the door.

The team on Tuesday signed the veteran defensive pass-rusher to a two-year contract extension through 2018.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Johnson turned down more money elsewhere to accept the team's offer of $9.5 million over two seasons.

I think you may be right and so is PFT. AP has mentioned about 6 teams now and no one seems to be chomping at the bit to have him. Lots of money for a guy who ran for next to nothing per carry last year.

I'm real curious with where he lands now... he might have to swallow his pride and work on anyones team who will give him a chance.

I guess we can say that the Giants have the best WRs core in the league now. Watch out for them in east this season

I read somewhere it should be between 6-9 million a year. So he likely received a 12-14 million signing bonus.....which is still high for him imo
