INDIANAPOLIS -- Jamaal Charles needs a new home. The Philadelphia Eagles want to add depth to the running back position. Given the tailback's familiarity with Doug Pederson, the match makes almost too much sense. The Eagles coach said Wednesday from the NFL Scouting Combine that he'd evaluate Charles in the coming weeks. "I've got some history with him in Kansas City for three years," Pederson said. "I think he's a tremendous running back and it's something that we'll evaluate now. And we'll grade him just like we do every free agent and every person that's released and see where he can fit into our offense."
i don't mind that if matthews leaves. i like the rookie from last year - smallwood too as a spark plug option as well.
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/look-heres-how-the-rams-are-changing-their-helmets-in-2017/ Rams get new helmets. i like them. reminds me of the old Rams when Deacon Jones played.
They have to change those uni's... they really clash with the white horns of the helmet. I always liked those old style helmets also.
Saints wide receiver Brandin Cooks was name-dropped as a potential trade target as early as last December. Three months later, those whispers are picking up steam. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that Cooks is drawing interest during this week's NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. ESPN's Chris Mortensen also noted that both the Titans and Eagles have been identified?as interested suitors. Rapoport first reported in December that "Cooks' frustration with his role in the offense led some to wonder if this is the best system for his talents, something the Saints likely will explore in the offseason." Cooks spent portions of last year unhappy about his diminished role in the attack, but the fourth-year receiver still wound up with 78 catches for 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns, down just six catches from 2015. His overall targets dropped from 129 two seasons ago to 117 in 2016, but Cooks is part of a crowded house at the receiver position. Second-year pass-catcher Michael Thomas is a sensational talent and Willie Snead also thrived last season. Trading away Cooks comes with the risk of finding his replacement, but New Orleans could certainly net a valuable draft pick in a swap. As for the Titans and Eagles, they line up as super-logical landing spots for Cooks. He'd immediately morph into a featured target in either offense while giving Tennessee's Marcus Mariota or Philly's Carson Wentz a new best friend. For teams looking for a sure thing over drafting a developmental prospect, Cooks has emerged as a juicy offseason option. ____________________________ Cooks is flat out good. The Saints better make him happy or he could bolt. I remember a couple games last year where he wasn't even targeted. Got to find a way to get him more involved. I'd think with an offense and QB like Brees they would spread it around more.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/s...ng-trading-brandin-cooks-to-eagles-or-titans/ More on B. Cooks. The EAGLES would need to give up their 1st rd pick for him? No freaking way! Way too steep of a price.
Jets releasing veteran receiver Brandon Marshall The New York Jets are releasing veteran wide receiver Brandon Marshall at his request, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Thursday according to a source informed of the decision. The news comes just days after the team notified both cornerback Darrelle Revis and offensive lineman Nick Mangold of their impending release. All transactions will become official once the new league year begins on March 9. The Bears dealt Marshall via trade to the Jets in 2015. In his first season with the team, he recorded franchise-record-setting numbers in receptions (109) and receiving yards (1,503) and matched the team's all-time mark in receiving touchdowns. In 2016 -- and his second season with the club -- Marshall totaled 788 yards receiving and three touchdowns. The 32-year-old wideout, who will be 33 later this month, was scheduled to make $7.5 million in 2017. And as Rapoport noted, with Marshall's departure, the Jets will save over $7 million dollars on the salary cap and will have not any dead money. _________________________________ Jets cleaning house, going cheaper and starting new.
if im Philly, sign him ASAP. Why give up a pick for Cooks, Britt, or Stills vs Marshall? SIGN HIM HOWIE!!
Because Cooks is 23 and Marshall is 32. One can be a long time player for you and the other is the guy you sign if you set to go to the SB in the next 2 years.

When was Bell injured? He just rushed for 170 yards the week before. He ran the ball 3 or 4 times against the patriots and couldn't play anymore.
