It was on a state bill, so it would become law..I'm not sure a state law is challengeable unless unconstitutional or a federal law supersedes it in some way.
I'm guessing that age discrimination is illegal on both a state and federal level. And I'm no attorney, But I'm sure that there is a way to get that thing thrown out in court. Workers comp lawyers are a dime a dozen. They'll figure a way around this.
And if you pay more to make up for it in comes from the cap. Also what if someone gets injured playing a road game in Chicago? Are they screwed? If somehow there was no way around paying players in any way, even out of a NFLPA fund then I could see the Bears franchise getting relocated after player strikes. There has to be more going on here as no way the Bears endorse this and shoot themselves in the foot.
I read the Bears stance on this after criticism. It is a bunch of Crock. I get that athletes won't be playing until 67 but there is no need to change the Bill, never mind lobby to change it. It's all crap and the Bears will pay dearly.

Oakland Raiders star Khalil Mack, a hybrid outside linebacker-defensive end, captured his first career Defensive Player of the Year award Saturday, beating out Von Miller by just one vote...
The only one I question is the Garrett pick. Really?? What did he do between this year and last year ?? His starting QB goes down and he plugs in the next guy on the roster. and goes one and done in the playoffs. I would have gone with Del Rio. (Oakland) 2 years ago that team was a joke. This year, came within a broken leg of at least an AFCCG.
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/s...le-shanahan-as-falcons-offensive-coordinator/ Falcons got their new OC.
The Falcons confirmed Tuesday they had agreed to terms to make Alabama play-caller Steve Sarkisian their next offensive coordinator. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport was told that Sarkisian and the Falcons spoke earlier this winter after Shanahan's name bubbled up as a primary candidate for the 49ers head-coaching job, a role he accepted on Monday. Sarkisian and Falcons coach Dan Quinn share a common friend in Seahawks coach Pete Carroll. Sarkisian's role as the Crimson Tide play-caller was brief: He was named to the post last month -- ahead of the BCS National Championship Game -- after former Alabama coordinator Lane Kiffin accepted the head-coaching job at Florida Atlantic. Sarkisian previously served as an analyst for Alabama after being fired as head coach at USC in 2015. He was let go by the Trojans after reportedly arriving late for team meetings while intoxicated. Sarkisian subsequently checked into rehab before filing a lawsuit against USC stating that he was discriminated against because of a disability. In Atlanta, Sarkisian faces the challenge of keeping one of the NFL's premier offenses operating at a Super Bowl level. Under Shanahan, MVP passer Matt Ryan led an attack that led the league in scoring and dominated defenses from wire-to-wire until falling just short in Super Bowl LI. It's an enviable role in Atlanta, though, where the offense will bring back Ryan, star wideout Julio Jones and versatile running back Devonta Freeman, among others.
I think stealing signals has been around forever in all sports, but especially football and baseball. For me its just part of the game anymore and a lot of to do about nothing gets made of it. We stole signals in Pee Wee and Colt baseball, lol.
The Atlanta Falcons are making a few alterations to their defensive staff. Defensive coordinator Richard Smith is being replaced while defensive line coach Bryan Cox is being let go by the team, a source informed of the moves told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport on Wednesday. Smith could remain with the Falcons in a different capacity, Rapoport added. The staff shakeup was first reported by The Sporting News. Smith, 61, had been the team's defensive coordinator in title since 2015. Before coming to Atlanta, he was the Broncos' linebackers coach. While most will assume that the moves are the direct result of blowing a 25-point lead in the Super Bowl, Falcons head coach Dan Quinn apparently has been prepping for a change for some time, Rapoport reported. Quinn was calling the plays for at least half the season, per Rapoport. So it goes in Atlanta, where the team now has a new offensive coordinator, Steve Sarkisian, and will be on the hunt for a new defensive coordinator as well.
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/f...ycheck-fears-he-might-have-cte-184619358.html this CTE case hits home. I went to HS with Frank and he was a year ahead of me. He was a really nice guy, local kid, who was raised by a single Mother. Very sad. Hope he gets the help he needs.
How about (3) jobs, they hired Lynch to be GM, but Shanahan has COMPLETE control over the entire roster. He will be in charge of the scouting department, personnel in all aspects, Lynch will be handling administrative duties only. Hope he understands completely what he is putting on himself...
Kind of confirms our suspicions, Irish, when he parted ways with Cleveland. The dude has a ego that could get in the way.
