For you (Steelers fans) that obviously want to know Antonio Brown is at 82.9. He is at 89.2 if you remove his rookie season (which you really can't). He averaged 100+ in 2 seasons and perhaps can do it again.
Beckham had 108.8 as a rookie and in each of the past 2 seasons he's lost over 11ypg (96.7/85.4). Demaryius Thomas also had 100+ypg in 2014 as did Josh Gordon in 2013.

Beckham, Thomas & Brown had their first 100+ypg year in 2014. Jones had it in 2013. Calvin Johnson had his 3 in consecutive years ending in 2013.

Prior to the 2010s boom the last players with 100ypg+ season were Steve Smith in 2008 and Anquan Boldin in 2005. Andre Johnson was 2 yards (0.1ypg) short in 2012 (who was close in 4 out of 5 years) as was David Boston in 2001.

There was also a boom of 7 instances (Not counting 99.9 by Boston) from 1999-2003. And 1995 had 4 players do it, and in a more impressive and surprising way than the 4 that did it in 2014.

Odds are the list will continue to grow. The rules are geared to help the passing game and in turn more teams pass the ball around more than ever. Doubt it? 13 QBs threw for more than 4000 yards.
    2016 in 2013 the number was 9
    2010 it was 5
    2005 it was 2
1992 there were zero (picked this year because it is the year Wes Chandler put up 129 yards per game to set the record for yards per game for a single season. He had 1032 yards off of 49 receptions)

Second place for yards per game is Charlie Hennigan with 124.7 Charlie broke the 100 yards per game twice in his career. His lifetime average is only 71.8. What should be impressive about his 2 times though is they were in the 60's before passing was all the rage.

While what Jones has done is amazing how many guys (from all time) are you taking ahead of him to be your number 1 WR? Jerry Rice had a paltry 75.6 yards per game career average but I know hes coming off the board before Jones (in my book anyways).

lol, you are talking a 20 year hall of fame career vs. a 6 year start to a career...it's kind of weighted in the GOATs favor, don't you think?

I think your just a little envious that's it's Julio instead of Antonio that continued his rise this year....Give the kid his due.

NFL is looking into Steelers not placing RB Bell on injury reports

The NFL will look into whether the Steelers improperly withheld running back Le'Veon Bell's groin injury from injury reports, a league source told NFL.com on Friday.

Bell, who exited Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Patriots with the injury, told reporters after the game he had been struggling with a groin issue for "a couple weeks" and that the problem exacerbated itself during play.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin?later said he was aware of Bell's injury?prior to the New England game, but that it was not significant in nature. Technically, only serious or "noteworthy" injuries have to appear on the practice report.

The Steelers now find themselves in similar water as the Seattle Seahawks. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said he made a mistake by not reporting a "legitimate" MCL injury sustained by cornerback Richard Sherman. General manager John Schneider said Thursday that there was no malicious intent behind the issue.

Sherman told NFL.com on Friday that his injury was not significant and expected the Seahawks to be warned by the league, but not punished.

An NFL spokesman reached by NFL.com on Friday said the league's review into Seattle's situation is ongoing.
In the past, a similar review into a situation involving Colts quarterback Andrew Luck did not result in any punishment. (NFL.com)

I'm not knocking the kid nor am I envious and as for Brown vs Jones I think you could flip a coin and be okay with either guy. I'm taking both of them ahead of Beckham, Evans, Nelson, Hilton, or any other current WR.

The New York Jets found their new offensive coordinator.

? NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that Gang Green will hire John Morton as their new OC, per a source informed of the team's thinking.

    ESPN first reported the news.

Chan Gailey retired after the 2016 season. The 65-year-old coach told Todd Bowles prior to the season it would be his last year as coordinator.

Morton, a 13-year NFL coach, spent the past two seasons with the New Orleans Saints as receivers coach. He held the same position for the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-2014. Morton began his NFL coaching career in 2002 as an offensive assistant/tight ends with the Oakland Raiders. The 47-year-old's only offensive coordinator experience came 2009-2011 with the University of Southern California. (NFL.com)

Tannehill not believed to need full ACL reconstruction

A month and a half after Ryan Tannehill suffered a partial tear in his ACL, the Dolphins quarterback's rehab is going so well that those involved believe he will not need a full reconstruction prior to the 2017 season, sources say.

Tannehill has a benchmark MRI later today, and more details should be known. But at this point, after countless strengthening and rehab exercises, Tannehill's knee is stable enough to feel confident going into the season, per sources.

Tannehill's MCL, which was also damaged in the late-season hit, is actually giving him more problems than the ACL. MCL sprains aren't fixed surgically, and he will be fine long before the season. (NFL.com)

Wes Welker is reuniting with Bill O'Brien, but this time as a member of his staff.

The Texans announced that Welker was hired as an offensive/special teams assistant coach. He was a guest coach for the Ravens and Dolphins in their organized team activities before this past season.

"That's a huge pickup, I think," Texans linebacker Whitney Mercilus said Monday on NFL? Total Access. "Just have to his knowledge on the team, just to have somebody who played the game for so long, just to be able to teach the guys exactly what he saw out there so that they can pretty much mimic exactly their skill set as they play out on the field."

The undrafted wideout retired in 2015 after a 12-year career, including spending six seasons in New England.

O'Brien was with Welker from 2007-11 with the Patriots, including as Welker's offensive coordinator in his final season in New England before leaving to become head coach at Penn State

  17. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

Seven years ago (2010) was the first time the NFL sandwiched the Pro Bowl in between the playoffs and the Super Bowl. In the six years since, fans have gotten a diluted version of the rosters.

That . . . and the games simply suck.
