Non-Pats AFC East teams are going to have to do it the hard way like the Jets almost did with Sanchez and Rex in their first 2 years with the Jets. Make it as a wildcard and then either beat the Pats there in a one-off or have someone else do it. Get into the party and then who cares if you won the division.
a lot of meaningless games this weekend. ugh. well at least some teams are still trying to get into the playoffs.
Only a few. All AFC spots have been claimed (just jockeying for position); Detroit, Green Bay and Washington (sorry, Tampa) are battling for the two remaining slots in the NFC.
Tampa still is alive for the last wild card spot. If they win & the Lions win while the Redskins lose the Bucs are in.
I have a fantasy championship this weekend. no idea who I will play as many guys are sitting. ugh. gid-what's up with bradshaw and tomlin? https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/c...at-response-for-terry-bradshaw-184640250.html
Same here. We have a split pot: 2/3 goes to the overall points winner, 1/3 goes to head-to-head winner. I'm far enough ahead in overall points, but head-to-head...? I have Zeke Elliott (not sure how long he plays), DeMarco Murray (think Tennessee is going to use Derrick Henry a lot this week), and Melvin Gordon (not sure if he's even suiting up). Jordy Nelson is a good play for me, but Donte Moncrief, Brandon Marshall and Sammy Watkins have nothing to play for. Might toss Chris Hogan into the mix...
I'm baffled to why Bradshaw would want to cause this stir now with Tomlin. It's almost playoff time. Just a hindrance to the Steelers and Tomlin if you ask me. Bradshaw should know better.
I posted on the Steelers a post on Bradshaw with golf analyst David Ferherty. Bradshaw was his first guest etc. I thought TB was funny and very honest about his past with his ex-wives, businesses, and his struggles with anxiety etc. He seemed very affable. To complain about MT recently makes him look bitter and petty. Let it go TB as your Steelers days are long over and unlike, John Elway in Denver, have nothing to do with the team now and haven't for a very long time. Don't cause a ruffle now as the WC weekend nears. Don't be that guy!
I think he gave an honest opinion...Although I'm no fan of Bradshaw, I have always felt Tomlin inherited one of the best situations to ever fall into a coaches lap...and hasn't done as much as he could have with that gift. I don't think he is a top coach and will be more and more exposed as this roster breaks down over time...once Ben is gone...so is the glory. Hell, they've only won 1 playoff game in the past 5 seasons...better hope they get a good draw Wild Card Weekend, or that streak may continue. Really, the Dolphins and Chiefs are both on par with the Steelers and can win in Pittsburgh...But I think they have a better shot against the Dolphins...If Tomlin loses to the Dolphins, his inept coaching may be exposed and the Steeler Nation may start clamoring for his head sooner than later.
irishdawg - I felt that the steelers with the best wr and rb, should be alot better, but there's a lot to make up a entire team and not just 2 guys. I don't know if that falls on drafting or on tomlin. at least he won 1 SB!! How many other coaches can say that? I'm a shithole Eagles fan and I'm still waiting for the VLT to come to Philly.
BREAKING NEWS... Doug Martin suspended four games, entering rehab... Doug Martin has been suspended four games for violating the NFL's drug policy. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' running back announced the suspension in a statement on Wednesday. Martin said he plans to enter a treatment facility. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Martin is being suspended for violating the league's performance-enhancing drugs policy. Per Rapoport, the violation is for Adderall, which is one of the issues the running back is battling. "I was notified last week of a four-game suspension for violating the league's drug policy," Martin said in the statement. "My initial instinct was to appeal the suspension and finish the season with my teammates. However, after numerous discussions with people close to me -- including Coach (Dirk) Koetter -- I am starting the suspension immediately so I can enter a treatment facility and receive the help I truly need. "On the field, I must be strong and determined to push through both pain and injuries to become an elite NFL running back. Off the field, I have tried that same approach in my personal life. My shortcomings in this area have taught me both that I cannot win these personal battles alone and that there is no shame in asking for help. "I sincerely apologize to the Glazer family, General Manager Jason Licht and the entire Tampa Bay organization, my teammates and our tremendous fans. This was not the season I envisioned and I have let everyone down, including myself. However, adversity yields opportunity and I ask for your support in my battle to overcome these personal issues." Martin missed practice Wednesday. The team said the absence was excused. The starting running back was a healthy scratch in last week's loss to the Saints that all but dashed the Bucs' playoff hopes. Koetter told reporters Monday that the decision to bench Martin was tied to "trying to put the Bucs in the best position to win games." (per NFL.com)
