Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott bounced back from a subpar effort in last week?s loss to the Giants, to get a few people off his back and the Cowboys back in the win column with a 26-20 victory over the Buccaneers. Prescott was an immaculate 32-of-36 passing for 279 yards and also ran for a touchdown, helping the Cowboys snap a one-game losing streak.
Of course this will only quite people if he doesnt have another bad game. They will also start up again should the Cowboys not win the Superbowl. Media and fans alike will ask should they have handed the reins back to Romo? IMHO by the time ROmo was healthy it was too late this had become Dak's team. Does it suck for Romo? Sure it does but barring injury I just dont see any reason you hand it back to Romo. I know some people will say Romo gives them best chance to win in the playoffs so they should start him now but what happens if they do that and on the third snap Romo goes down funny and is out for the rest of the season. You then have to turn back to Dak and say hey kid we know we said you werent the guy who could take us to the promise land but now you are and hey we believe in you 100%. For better or worse its his team and you ride it out. Of course what would I know my opinion mattered to anyone in the NFL I wouldnt be hanging otu here on the message boards I would be employed somewhere in the nfl lol.
No rookie quarterback has ever played in the Super Bowl, much less won one. Which means they've also never won a conference championship, either. But there's a first time for everything, I suppose. Like 'em or not, Dallas has become a fun team to watch.
Randy Gregory eligible to practice, play Monday Night vs. Detroit. http://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/artic...r_cowboys/s1_127_22737166?mb_edition=20161219
Yep, there's a certain amount of that, no doubt. But I'd be thrilled if he can stay clean (for a month and a half or so!), and Dallas can get Claiborne, Lawrence and Thornton back for the playoffs.
Ya everyone thought the Panthers were out because the ESPN Playoff Machine doesn't understand common opponent tiebreakers. The Saints would win any 8-8 tie in the division but the Machine says Tampa beats Carolina in common opponents. Not true at all. It would be tied (Bills & Dolphins had the same issue) and Carolina would win the strength of victory tiebreaker and then go on to win other tiebreakers with 8-8 teams.
Panthers need Win vs Falcons and Bucs Saints beat Bucs Falcons beat Saints Bears beat Redskins Giants beat Redskins Vikings beat Packers Lions beat Packers Bears beat Vikings Saints have all that except they must win vs the Falcons and don't need the Panthers to beat the Falcons. So the Bears? lol
Damn, Joe... How the blazes do you keep this straight in your mind. Your like the rain man of football scenarios, lol.
League penalizes Giants, McAdoo for walkie-talkie use The National Football League has fined the New York Giants $150,000 and Giants coach Ben McAdoo $50,000 for their roles in illegal walkie-talkie use during their Week 14 win over the Dallas Cowboys, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Rapoport adds that the Giants have also had their fourth-round pick in the 2017 draft moved to the end of the round following any compensatory picks. The hand-held communication device was used for five plays on an early fourth-quarter drive that ended in an interception on a pass intended for Victor Cruz, Rapoport added last week. As the Giants worked to fix McAdoo's communications equipment, the coach was handed a walkie-talkie as a replacement for the malfunctioning communications system. The league said last Thursday that it was looking into the matter. "League policy prohibits a coach from using such devices in a game," an NFL spokesman told NFL.com, "because he would not be cut off from talking by the switch operator for the coach-to-player helmet communication system. Communication is cut off when the play clock reaches 15 seconds or when the ball is snapped." Rapoport reported on Sunday that?discipline for the incident was expected. McAdoo, in his first season as head coach of the Giants, is one win away from clinching the team's first playoff berth since 2011. (per NFL.com)
