The NFL is looking into the New York Giants' sideline use of walkie-talkies during their Week 14 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, via a source informed of the league's plans. The hand-held communication device was used for four or five plays on an early fourth-quarter drive that ended in an interception to Victor Cruz, Rapoport added, per a source informed of the Giants' situation. As the team worked to fix Ben McAdoo's communications equipment, the head coach was handed a walkie-talkie as a replacement for the malfunctioning headset. "League policy prohibits a coach from using such devices in a game," an NFL spokesman told NFL.com, "because he would not be cut off from talking by the switch operator for the coach-to-player helmet communication system. Communication is cut off when the play clock reaches 15 seconds or when the ball is snapped." McAdoo's walkie-talkie was shown on air during the broadcast of NBC's Sunday Night Football. Contrary to reports, no formal complaint was filed by Dallas, the NFL spokesman stated.
If true, Giants MUST lose a first round pick. http://dystnow.com/2016/12/15/new-york-giants-nfl-investigation-rule-violations-vs-dallas-cowboys/
I think they should do nothing to the Giants just so we can watch half of the patriots fans heads blow up and the other half whine for the next 50 years.
How do we know the Giants didn't have illegal walkies in SB 42 & 46? In the words of Kurt Warner "We don't know and we shouldn't have to wonder." They've probably been stealing plays with the walkies since the mid 20's.
Never doubt Adrian Peterson's ability to bounce back quicker than normal humans. The Minnesota Vikings running back told Dash Radio on Friday that he intends to play this week against the Indianapolis Colts. ? "Being out there confirmed I'm ready to roll," Peterson said, via the Star Tribune. "I've had my head in the playbook." The Vikings would need to make a corresponding move to activate Peterson to the 53-man roster. All Day has been out since Sept. 18 with a torn meniscus. He returned to practice this week. The Vikings could certainly use a boost on the ground. Behind a porous offensive line, Minnesota ranks last in the NFL with just 73.4 rushing yards per game. Prior to the injury in Week 2, Peterson was averaging just 1.6 yards per carry.
TONIGHT... Miami Dolphins (8-5) at New York Jets (4-9) KICKOFF: Saturday, 8:25 p.m. ET, MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford... KEYS TO THE GAME: This AFC East rivalry will feature a battle between Jets QB Bryce Petty and Dolphins QB Matt Moore. Moore is starting in place of Ryan Tannehill, who sprained his left MCL and ACL and will be sideline for a period of time yet to be determined. Petty, a second-year veteran, is starting because veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick was benched, Geno Smith went out with a knee injury and rookie Christian Hackenberg, a second-round draftee, isn't getting a sniff. This game should feature dueling RBs Matt Forte of the Jets and Jay Ajayi of the Dolphins, but Forte (knee) did not practice Wednesday and will be a game-time decision. Forte was injured in the first quarter of Sunday's 23-17 overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers. An MRI Monday revealed a torn meniscus. Coach Todd Bowles said Forte likely will be a game-time decision on Saturday night. With Forte out last week, RB Bilal Powell had a career game, scoring two TDs, including the 19-yard game-winner in OT. Moore is an eight-year veteran making his first start since 2011.
Adrian Peterson is back -- officially. The Vikings activated their star player from injured reserve on Saturday, according to an official announcement from the club. Defensive tackle Toby Johnson was waived in a corresponding move. The 10-year veteran could be a breath of fresh air for a rapidly-stalling Vikings offense. The team is currently 24th in points, 31st in total yards, and 32nd in rushing yards. Peterson had 50 yards on 31 carries through two games this season before placing him on injured reserve in late September. While their banged-up offensive line is a source of many woes, Peterson is one of the few players in football who can negate deficiencies up front. Peterson had surgery for a torn meniscus back on Sept. 22. The Vikings (7-6) are well aware that they have to win out to keep their lofty playoff goals alive -- a road that starts this weekend against the Indianapolis Colts. Peterson certainly cannot hurt those chances, and has already moved his return date up a week. His original expectation was to be back for next weekend's matchup against the division-rival Packers. ___________________________ I cant believe he's ready to go... wow.
The Dolphins had to switch quarterbacks and go north for a bad-weather game Saturday night. After a quarter or so, they got comfortable. By the third quarter, they had taken full control. The Dolphins dominated the Jets, 34-13, thanks in large part to a 21-0 third quarter. Quarterback Matt Moore, making his first start since 2011 in place of the injured Ryan Tannehill, threw four touchdown passes. Once 1-4, the Dolphins are now serious playoff contenders.
You do have to ask is it the Dolphins or the competition? They have 1 win vs a team that currently has a winning record.
There's a chance Ryan Tannehill could need surgery on his ACL. The Dolphins quarterback suffered MCL and ACL sprains in last Sunday's 26-23 win over the Cardinals, and his leg was in a cast last night during Saturday's 34-13 victory against the Jets. Tannehill is planning to rest and rehab the partial tears in his knee, but if it doesn't help, ACL reconstruction is possible, a source informed of the situation told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. Tannehill is already "very uncertain" to return this season, per Rapoport, but if he goes through with the surgery, he'll clearly be out for the remainder of this campaign. Backup signal-caller Matt Moore has shined in relief thus far -- he tossed four touchdowns against the Jets.

I wouldn't be surprised if he is fired as it's the perfect time to go a new route now but I'm gonna guess he has another year.
