Breaking: Strip sacks no longer exist, it will be ruled forward progress and the offense will maintain possession of the ball.
Never seen a player get a longer leash on a Belichick team than Cyrus Jones. Doug Gabriel fumbled ONCE and never saw the field again.
Adrian Peterson says he?s practicing this?week Vikings running back Adrian Peterson said last week that he would shelve his plans to return to action this season if the Vikings lost two straight games to drop out of contention for a playoff spot, but the Vikings were able to come up with their second win in their last eight games against the Jaguars last Sunday. As a result, he says his plans to get back on the field are moving forward. During an interview with DJ Skee on DashRadio.com, Peterson said that he intends to join the team at practice this week. ?I plan on practicing this week to really get my legs under me and get a good feel on where I?m at,? Peterson said. ?So, this week is going to be big for me. My plan, and my vision, is to be back for the Green Bay game [on December 24]. That?s what I?m envisioning. Of course, the perfect scenario would be we win out and I?m able to rest up for three weeks, and be ready for the playoffs. That?s the perfect scenario. But I?ll be out there this week practicing, and I?ll go from there.?
Word. He must be fucking awesome in practice to keep getting chances. I said to a friend of mine earlier inthe season that Stevan Ridley must be pissed at how many chances Vyrus has gotten. That ball off the foot and then stand there while not realizing the ball is still uncovered punt return "effort" has got to be the final nail. Has to be. They can't possibly use him again this year. Call Troy Brown, Kevin Faulk, or Billy friggen White Shoes Johnson out of retirement if you have to. Hopefully Whalen will be up to speed this week.
Former Baltimore Ravens tight end Konrad Reuland died Monday, coach John Harbaugh announced in opening his postgame news conference. Reuland was 29. He suffered a brain aneurysm Nov. 28 and had surgery a day later. Very sad, waay too young. RIP.
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/n...-and-matchups-for-the-four-2017-london-games/ 4 London games in 2017.
That's 26 teams that played in London now. So does that mean the other 6, the Jaguars and either the Rams or Dolphins will play in 2018?
Cincinnati Bengals cut kicker Mike Nugent, sign Randy Bullock... Kickers getting the ax for missing those PAT's.
The 4-D game of chess continues between and among San Diego, Oakland, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. With the Chargers running out of days to exercise their absolute option to move to L.A. with the Rams, San Diego is showing unprecedented urgency to keep the Chargers from leaving. Via Bernie Wilson of the San Diego Union-Tribune, four city council members want to offer the Chargers a 99-year, $1-annual lease at Qualcomm Stadium. That would keep the team in town under very team-friendly terms while efforts continue toward building a new stadium. As noted by Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune, the NFL separately has been trying to come up with ideas for keeping the Chargers from leaving for L.A. This meshes with the notion, as PFT has heard in recent weeks, that Commissioner Roger Goodell is ?fixated? on keeping the Chargers in San Diego. (PFT) __________________________________________ Why they have these problems in the first place is mind boggling. You'd think in todays world that the right people for the situation could be put in place. I sure hope they straighten this mess out and keep the Chargers in San Diego where they belong.
nice reporting Will. AGREE 10000%. I'm sad for their fan-base as well as the Raiders. Is the Raiders to Vegas a done deal ?
No, not yet. Marc Davis (owner) has dumped in tons of cash and wants to take the team to Vegas, but Ronnie Lott and the city of Oakland (Alemeda County) are proposing ways of financing and keeping the Raiders in Oakland. It's still ongoing... to the best of my knowledge.
Mike Zimmer: 'Tired' of Vikings not living up to ability No one expected Vikings coach Mike Zimmer to take it easy on his team during their recent skid. As it turns out, he doesn't think his injury-ravaged team is playing up to their ability. "We're losing. Yeah, I'm tired of it. I'm tired of losing, I'm tired of penalties, I'm tired of not living up to our ability," he said Tuesday, via the Star-Tribune. "I'm tired of it, I'm not going to stand for it." Zimmer said he was encouraged at times over the last three weeks. The offense drove the ball against the Lions and Cowboys. Each game was decided by less than a field goal. This weekend, they take on the Indianapolis Colts (6-7) for a chance to make it two wins in a row. Predictably, though, he won't be happy unless they finish the season undefeated. Ending 10-6 is their best bet at getting this championship caliber defense back into the playoffs with a fighting chance.
David Johnson has a shot at the Faulk/Craig 1,000/1,000?mark A player gaining 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards receiving in the same season is so special that it has only happened twice in NFL history: Roger Craig did it with the 1985 49ers, and Marshall Faulk did it with the 1999 Rams. Now a third player is closing in on that territory. Cardinals running back David Johnson already has 1,085 rushing yards this season. And with 745 receiving yards this season with three games to go, he has a shot at hitting 1,000 yards receiving as well. Those are the kinds of statistics that usually get players MVP consideration. Craig came in third in MVP voting in 1985, while Faulk finished second to his teammate Kurt Warner in 1999. But this year ? even without a clear-cut MVP favorite ? Johnson has received almost no mention in MVP discussions. That is, of course, because the Cardinals have been one of the more disappointing teams this season, declining from the NFC Championship Game last year to out of the playoffs this year. But that?s no reflection on Johnson, who has almost single-handedly kept the Cardinals? offense moving in some games when it otherwise struggled. It hasn?t been a good season in Arizona, but it has been a great season for Johnson. He?s one of the NFL?s best players, whether he receives any MVP votes or not. (PFT)
