'Boys probably will need the three remaining games to start getting their offense back on track. Talk of sitting starters seems a bit premature...
The Cowboys are in kinda a tough position by not at least limiting some of the starters playing time, but at the same time the offense needs to get its groove back. Another concern has got to be the injury thing. If a star goes down... I can just hear the clamoring now, 'why didn't you sit him'? Fun times!
They've got rookies at key spots (QB, RB). They're young, they're learning - play 'em. You want to put Sanchize and Darren McFadden/Alfred Morris in the second half of Week 17? Fine. Otherwise, let 'em play.
Cowboys are only 1 game back of the Giants and lost the tiebreaker. Any talk of rest now is a joke since they need to win out if the Giants do. That being said I think that article came out before the game.
Well, no - Dallas is two games AHEAD of the Giants, not 1 game back. And if the Giants win out they get to 12-4; Dallas would need to go 2-1 in their final 3 (not win out) to be at 13-3.
you are right. I forgot they lost to the Steelers. Still too soon to talk rest. Gotta clinch 1st first.
Absolutely correct. Then gotta clinch home field throughout. Too much work yet to do to be talking about resting.
Jim Caldwell: Stafford will play, don?t ask me any?more Lions coach Jim Caldwell says quarterback Matthew Stafford will continue to play despite suffering a finger injury on Sunday. And that?s all Caldwell wants to say. ?He did have an issue with his finger, there?s no question,? Caldwell said of Stafford. ?He?s going to be able to play in the next game, he?s going to practice and those things.? Before any reporters could ask any follow-up questions, Caldwell preemptively shut such questions down. ?I?m not going to talk to you about the nature of it, what happened, all the rumors and false reports,? Caldwell said. ?That?s all I?m going to say about it, so if you ask me a question about it I?m going to do one of two things, I?m either going to flat-out ignore you or I?m going to ask for another question.? Stafford finished the game on Sunday without missing a single play, so there?s little doubt that he can play through the injury. But there may be concerns about whether playing with an injured finger and a glove will affect Stafford?s accuracy.
The Dolphins still may not get Ryan Tannehill back on the field this year, but the news on his MRI wasn?t as bad as they feared. Per Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, Dolphins coach Adam Gase told reporters that Tannehill?s ACL was not torn, and just sprained. Because he used all caps and exclamation marks, you know it?s seriously unexpected. Now, it?s still unlikely he plays this week against the Jets, and he may not again this season. But Gase said it doesn?t look like Tannehill will need surgery to repair the sprained ACL and MCL. Last night, their fear was that it was a complete tear, and they still don?t have anything resembling a timetable.
