Man, Philbin really imploded as a HC, but he's aces as an OC. Could be the best thing that's happened to Eli in years.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/looks-philadelphia-eagles-going-hire-140419508.html Coughlin "appearing" to go to Philly... some kinks to work out...
I'm hearing Coughlin is the fallback option if KC's Doug Pederson doesn't want the job when he's available.
It is Kelly. Kelly's plans can start rough because they don't need to go through a new really rough patch. He'll have way less scrutiny. At this point the 49ers will take the chance.
What was Chip Kelly's best move besides out of town? I still think it will be getting DeMarco Murray. It will just be under the next coach. He didn't want McCoy because he wasn't a north-south runner to fit his scheme. He gets Murray and almost exclusively runs him east-west while letting Mathews run north south when he can't do it on obvious up the gut runs. That "brilliant" idea and getting rid of the offensive linemen when it ad no affect on their cap situation were moves I can not understand at all. I understand all the rest and believed in quite a few of them but those 2 were *CRAZY*
The best coaches make their scheme fit the players they have....versus always needing to find players that fit the scheme. Kelly can be a really good coach. He knows football. But he needs to learn the NFL isn't college.
First (reported) trade - I have yet to verify - Riley Cooper for Anquan Boldin. If true, my apologies to Tim. Didn't think ANYONE was dumb enough to trade for a worthless player like Cooper whom the Iggles were going to cut anyway.
If Kaepernick does get traded from San Francisco then Carson Wentz might catapult all the way up to #7.
I thought that as well, and ultimately that might be the move. If Chip trades Kaep he can get a decent return to build the roster a little quicker while drafting a quarterback at the top that has no history or experience with the league. A green recruit would be easier for Kelly to have influence over while changing the roster.
