Poor goal line decisions and execution plus the boneheaded picks. This game could have easily been tied in the 4th.
I put a lot of the blame on the Colts coaching staff. Just one poor decision after another. I'm not taking anything away from the Steelers... they are a tough football team, but the Colts really could have and should have been in that game a bit closer if they just would have kept it simple on a few play calls. _________________________________________________ Overall, yesterday was fun even tho my Vikings dumped another game... I enjoyed the games.
If he would have kicked the two FGs when they had 4th & goal, it would have been a 8 point game before the Steelers scored their 4th TD.
Tolzien doesn't know how to run and execute as well as Luck. There is a decent chance Luck gets 14 points there and it's tied before the dumb picks in the 4th. That's why I said the Steelers were lucky. It could have been a close hard fought game but Tolzien wasn't up to the challenge. Even one TD or 2 FGs and no pick to give the Steelers the final TD would have meant the Colts had it in the 4th down 8 to tie. It would have been a different game. Steelers still probably win but the Colts give them a real run for their money.
Washington Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan is going to pay for doubting Kirk Cousins' value as the face of the franchise this past offseason. Entering Thursday's marquee showdown at Dallas, Cousins boasted the highest passer rating of any quarterback in his last 20 starts, per NFL Research. Cousins went on to set a single-game franchise record for completions (41), passing for the second-most yards (449) in Thanksgiving history. Since his "You like that!" breakout performance last October, Cousins has posted astonishing numbers, completing 70.1 percent of his passes at 8.4 yards per attempt for a 43:10 TD-to-INT ratio and a sterling 108.8 passer rating in 21 games. Borrowing from Joe Flacco's 2012 blueprint, Cousins is ready to cash in his winning ticket after betting on himself in a make-or-break contract year. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport spoke with three general managers?about the Redskins' QB conundrum this week. All three executives anticipate that Cousins' next contract will be worth more than $20 million annually, placing him in exclusive company with the highest-paid players in the league. (NFL.com)
It's Championship Weekend in Canada. The Vanier Cup (University National Championship) is today. I had a ticket to go until my damn phone didn't have sound when my buddy called. The Grey Cup (CFL Title Game) is tomorrow. Calgary one of the most dominant teams the game has ever seen vs Ottawa, the East Division champs with a losing record (8-9-1). Or I guess it's a tied record after their playoff win. They played Calgary twice. Got blown out away and tied at home. This game is in Toronto.
Thanks and don't expect much of a return with those odds. The Vanier also has Calgary. They play Laval.
All I saw was a headline, and the source is not renowned as a reliable sport's source. But I'll ask anyway. This is from The NY Times: (I'm not going to try and remember the exact headline; this is the gist) In Crowded Toronto Sports Scene, the Grey Cup is Hardly Noticed. I know it's not the Argos, and the [del]RoughRiders[/del] Redblacks (or whatever they're called) are not marque, but still it's a championship game. Do you think there'll be a good turnout?
Much like last year though he is riding a hot streak that makes him look more attractive. Through the first 6 games his numbers were: Comp%: 65.04 Yards:1695 Tds: 9 Ints: 6 Y/A 7.5 Through last 5 games: Comp % 72.04 Yards 1845 TDS: 11 Ints: 1 Y/A 8.74 So its still very much a question of which Cousins do you get if you sign him long term to a fat contract. Is he going to start every season slow and finish in a flurry? If he keeps playing like he is now no doubt he gets a fat contract but if he reverts to playing like he did the first 6 games the rest of the season then who knows.
The CFL is bigger away from Toronto. They still have a few hundred tickets available, but out west the game sells out in days. It will be a good turnout but the CFL keeps hoping Toronto will have a better turn out. Us in Hamilton are pissed off. We'd buy more tickets if they brought the game back here but they are obsessed with Toronto and their population. Ottawa was there last year and lost but the team arranged some bus/ticket packages for fans so they'll show up. Calgary fans will fly over and many are doing the double header with today's Vanier Cup having U of Calgary as well. But Toronto is not the place to continually try and force the issue.
Bills OT Seantrel Henderson facing 10-game suspension Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson could have been one of the most intriguing players this season. He was a topic of trade discussions right before the deadline. Teams such as the Vikings and Seahawks needed tackles, and Henderson was the top starter-quality player available at his position. Buffalo never found the right price, deciding to hold onto its swing tackle. Those other teams should be thankful for that now. Sources informed of his situation say Henderson has officially been informed that he's facing a 10-game suspension for violating the NFL's Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. He is appealing the ruling and a final decision on the potential suspension will be made this week. Henderson was previously suspended four games for a similar violation this year. The Buffalo News first reported the possibility of a second suspension. For the talented Henderson, the situation is complicated. Henderson has Crohn's disease and uses marijuana to deal with the pain resulting from the illness and two intestinal surgeries. As his agent Brian Fettner said after his first suspension, "There is zero allowable medical exemption for this per the NFL; however, there clearly should be." A source added after the second suspension, "He needs cannabis. You can't take pain killers with the way his intestines are." (NFL.com)
The NFL needs to take marijuana off of its banned list. It is a much better non addictive pain reliever. Pain medication is very addictive and can ruin someone's life.
David Johnson got a TD early but they called it short and didn't challenge. Nervous fantasy day ahead.
