Wade Phillips released from hospital after collision Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips was carted off the field in Denver on Sunday after getting inadvertently knocked to the ground by Melvin Gordon who was chasing down Broncos cornerback Bradley Roby. Phillips was taken to a local hospital to undergo further testing. Following the game, he was released after everything "checked out OK." Phillips is expected to return to work on Monday, per the team. Before exiting the stadium, Phillips wagged his right index finger signifying that he was OK. A Broncos official confirmed shortly after the incident took place that Phillips had movement in all extremities and was alert before leaving. Linebackers coach Reggie Herring called the defense in his absence. Broncos coach Gary Kubiak told CBS Sports in-game that Phillips would be fine and also let his players know that their defensive coordinator was OK. Given the speed of play, any and all personnel on the sidelines are at risk when a wayward play bends toward the white lines. In the past, Saints coach Sean Payton broke his leg in a sideline collision. Giants coach Tom Coughlin and then-Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio also sustained significant injuries after finding themselves in the middle of a play. UPDATE: NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport said on Monday's Good Morning Football that he received a text message from Phillips stating "I'm OK." (NFL.com)
And I know comp picks can be traded starting next year, but how the hell can you trade one before they're even announced? What happens if Cleveland isn't awarded a 3rd round comp pick? OTC has them projected for three 4th's but not a 3rd.
Collins wanted Von Miller money, not sure if Von Miller is worth Von Miller money let alone Collins. Id still rather risk losing him for nothing though. All this does is makes up for the pick that was stolen from us in the fourth (which has never made sense because Goodell said it was akin to a PED violation and the report cleared the team and the coaching staff...).
Not really digging the whole Collins deal. Makes no sense, even if they couldn't resign him, to deal him away in the middle of what looks to be another deep playoff run. In Bill we trust?
Mike Lombardi has made some sense of it (and this guy has been bashing the Pats d for weeks on the BS podcast so it's not some sort of damage control) http://nesn.com/2016/10/ex-patriots-assistant-blasts-jamie-collins-in-justifying-sudden-trade/ Makes sense. If he's going to keep losing snaps he may as well not be here. He was such a talent, what a shame. Hightower and Sheard haven't had great seasons either.
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/w...rs-scored-on-an-incomplete-pass-vs-cardinals/ love the NFL Refs! Panthers score a TD on an incomplete pass. haha. Great job guys.
It could seriously backfire too. According to a Cleveland reporter if the Browns don't receive a 3rd round comp pick they will owe the Pats a 2018 4th. Had the Pats just let Collins walk in March it's highly likely he secures a 3rd round comp pick in the '18 draft. They could actually go backwards in the draft and not have a guy who played really well in the playoffs last year. Head scratcher.
gotta love that as their answer. all of their millions spent on technology and the crap doesn't even work right. haha. love it.
Sounds like the Collins deal is a message to the locker room - freelance too much, don't give it 100% all the time, and you'll find yourself somewhere else. Belichick's never been afraid to do the controversial thing.
I think they gave Carolina the game right there. You get momentum and the landslide starts. That was so obviously a incomplete pass and they refs come back and say the call stands.
And just think TO answered a fans proposal to come out and help the Eagles with 1 word - Available! . Where's Ocho Cinco when you need him?
If the ratings don't start going back up the salary cap may have to be adjusted down. I am sure the TV stations broadcasting games will start screaming for better ratings or renegotiate the TV deals. The Steelers are supposed to have great cap space next season too, but I am starting to worry about the state of the NFL when it comes to the financial side.
