That rather iffy offsides call against the Packers allowing the FG by Minnesota is looming rather large, but hey, I'll take it!
Atlanta's been paying for lazy tackles throwing their body at a player instead of trying to square up and wrap.
I still cant believe the Vikings are 14-2 and still have to deal with the Detroit Lions... never a dull moment.
Lions-Vikings will be fourth game in NFL history with two teams 10 games over .500 There will be a lot at stake when the Vikings come to Detroit next Sunday night and the final game of the 2024 regular season. The winner of the game will be both the NFC North champions and the top seed in the NFC playoffs, so there would be plenty of interest in the matchup even if it wasn’t also historically significant. It will be the first regular season game between two teams that have won at least 13 games and it will be just the fourth game between teams that are both 10 games over .500. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Vikings-Lions game will join a 2005 game between the Seahawks and Colts, a 1983 Washington-Dallas clash and a 1926 clash between the Bears and the Frankford Yellow Jackets as the only games to kick off under such conditions. Seattle and Washington both advanced to the Super Bowl after winning their games and the winner next Sunday will have the inside track on a similar fate. PFT/Alper
Some prominent websites are saying tonight's game between the Lions and the 49ers is meaningless. I disagree. If the 49ers beat the Lions down, it may have a demoralizing effect, and the 49ers have the Lions number. If the 9ers win it, it could bring the Lions confidence down a notch and if your confidence is slipping, bad things happen. So, Im hoping for bad things to happen for the Lions. Just being honest. <-- Vic agrees.
That is correct, there is not a mathematical possibility of any of the other (2) teams. Titans beat them head to head and the Browns have a much higher SOS Patriots .469 / Browns .540 The Patriots have to win to give either of the other two a chance at #1 overall... I hope they lose... In fact I'm still wishing upon a star the Browns pull out a win against the Ravens.. that would drop them as low as the #8 overall pick, but definitely no higher than #3. I don't want the Browns to get into a trade war with the Giants or Raiders for the Patriots #1 pick... One of them is going to give up the house for Shadeur Sanders... Not worth the 2024 #1 overall pick, let alone multiple future picks as well. Titans, I believe will sit at #2 overall and take Cam Ward. There isn't a QB in this class imho that fits a pro scheme, especially Stefanski's scheme. I would rather they figure out a way to get Kirk Cousins on the cheap than draft one of these guys. I know he had a shit show of a year, but one year removed from the injury and going to Stefanski's scheme would get him back on track.
Thats a very interesting scenario. I was going to ask you also, what would you like to see the Browns do with a first-round pick? If a pickup like Cousins, who is familiar with Stefansky doesn't materialize, what would be your first-round move? Asking for a friend.
I wonder if Mayo is caught between a rock and a hard place. He could bench Maye and go full out tank, but he is on a very hot seat to begin with, so does he even try to win the next game, does he do what he's told, or does he go ballz out and try to win the game and rub Kraft's nose in shit? Not a fan of Mayo from the beginning, but maybe he just might get pissed off and go all out on winning and say screw this, because if he wants another job, he might wanna try winning for his personal resume. Just food for thought.
