As expected, 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey won’t return to practice this week.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed that during his Wednesday news conference after noting on Monday that McCaffrey’s more likely to start playing after the Week 9 bye.

That was still the case on Wednesday.

“It’s not this week, so hopefully, it will be next week,” Shanahan said, via David Bonilla of 49erswebzone.com.

Chiefs make it official, announce DeAndre Hopkins trade

The Chiefs have made it official.

Kansas City announced on Thursday that the team has acquired DeAndre Hopkins from Tennessee, which means the receiver has passed his physical.

The Titans are set to receive a fourth-round pick if the Chiefs make it back to the Super Bowl and Hopkins plays 60 percent of the Kansas City’s offensive snaps.

Hopkins, 32, has caught 15 passes for 173 yards with a touchdown in six games this season. He had 75 receptions for 1,057 yards with seven TDs in his first season with Tennessee last year.

The Chiefs are dealing with injuries to several key offensive players, including Hollywood Brown, Isiah Pacheco, Rashee Rice, and now JuJu Smith-Schuster. We’ll see if Kansas City can get Hopkins up to speed quickly enough for him to play against Las Vegas on Sunday.

Puka Nacua injury update: Rams WR on track to play 'TNF' in Week 8 vs. Vikings after IR return, per report

The wideout has been sidelined since aggravating a knee injury in Week 1

    upload_2024-10-24_13-18-28.png

The Los Angeles Rams will be getting a key reinforcement on Thursday night against the Minnesota Vikings, with Cooper Kupp set to return from injury. Now it appears Kupp won't be alone, with fellow wide receiver Puka Nacua also on track to suit up, according to NFL Media, just days after his return to practice.

That means quarterback Matthew Stafford would have his top two pass targets back in the lineup, potentially primed for a big night against a Vikings defense that ranks top 10 in scoring but 30th in pass defense.

It's going to be a better game that we thought it was going to be with both Kupp and Nacua on the field. I have both on one of my FFB teams. Their both starting.

If the Vikings D up front with different blitz packages doesnt get to Stafford and at least hurry him, the Rams could go off and put up a ton of points.

Needless to say, Im a tad-bit excited!

Broncos announce Josh Reynolds was treated for “minor injuries” in shooting

The Broncos released a statement on the condition of Josh Reynolds after the receiver was wounded in a shooting last week.

Reynolds was shot in the left arm and the back of the head, according to court documents obtained by 9News, but was not seriously injured, according to the team.

“Josh Reynolds was a victim of a shooting on Friday in Denver and received treatment for minor injuries,” the team wrote. “Out of respect for the legal process, we will defer further comment on this matter to the authorities.”

Reynolds was one of two men shot while leaving a strip club shortly after 3 a.m. on Oct. 18.

On Wednesday, Denver Police announced the arrests of Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza in the case.

Reynolds, who is on injured reserve with a broken finger, was at the team facility this week watching practice.
