Amusing story... Falcons RG Chris Lindstrom, C Drew Dalman, some of the cheerleaders and Freddie The Falcon appeared at an event yesterday at the county animal shelter in Gainesville. My wife is retired and volunteers there. She told me after the event yesterday that one of the other volunteers there is a big guy named Drew and that his girlfriend is a regular volunteer. My wife isn't a football fan, so she had no idea that the volunteer named Drew was Dalman, a fourth round draft pick in 2021 and the team's starting center (currently waiting for eligibility to return from IR for an ankle sprain). Mega cool. And the shelter needed the event. It's really sad, but now that everyone is returning to office work after the pandemic a lot of pets are now unwanted and being turned in at shelters. Result: the shelters are overloaded and animals get euthanized. It's a constant scramble to try to find homes for them and get them adopted before time runs out. So for Dalman and his girlfriend to help arrange the event and for Lindstrom to be there was fantastic.
GREAT story Torgo and KUDOS to your wife for volunteering in Gainesville...........this has become a Global Problem..........Up here the shelters are called the SPCA and they are overwhelmed with animals neglected and left to die. It is really Sad and it has become a Major problem since the end of Covid.........People bought an animal for companionship during Covid and then just let it go or die when the Pandemic ended......that is disgusting. It is so nice to hear that player's from the Atlanta Falcons and employees would stand up and Help the 4-legged ones find a Home or just be loved. Your wife deserves a Pat on the back Torgo.

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is the latest ball carrier to get a harsh penalty from the league office for an action that didn’t draw a penalty from the officials on the field. The NFL has fined Barkley $45,020 for what the league officially called “Unnecessary Roughness (use of the helmet).” On the play in question, Barkley and Browns defensive tackle Maurice Hurst had a head-on collision. Both players lowered their helmets, and the tops of their helmets both hit each other, but only Barkley was fined. Hurst was not fined. _______________ The new rule against the hip-drop tackle has resulted in a fine for Bears defensive lineman Chris Williams. The NFL fined Williams $5,472 for a hip-drop tackle in last week’s win over the Jaguars. On the play in question, Williams sacked Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence from behind and landed on his legs, which can lead to lower-body injuries that the NFL is trying to prevent. But Williams wasn’t flagged, the NFL Network announcers didn’t say anything about it, and virtually no one watching live seemed to think it was a hip-drop tackle. _______________ Go figure... doesnt add up to me.
I love football and here's the proof. Im watching two 1 and 5 teams play in London and Im enjoying it. Is something wrong with me? (dont answer that it's rhetorical, lol)
