Najee Harris with a great run. Started flying through the air from the 5 yard line and landed the ball on the goal-line for 6... beautiful.

There had to be a micro-fracture or something there before right?

The Vikings will have a lot of trouble if they play this Lions team they look pretty awesome, Mike Zimmer has had a rough day!

The Lions are the real deal, imo, thats why I picked them to win the Super Bowl back in preseason... Im not really going out on a limb here because they are stacked with weapons offensively (some of Goffs passes were picture perfect tonight) and can play defense as we have seen tonight. Dan Campbell is a ballzy, aggressive go for it, no non-sense coach who the players love playing for. So, I have to admit they look like the team to beat in the North and all of the NFC. How about the NFC North, quite the turnaround.

A random look at the playoff picture as of now showing only teams with a tied or winning record. The losing record teams listed are actually next in line by pure chance and have a chance to get to even with a win tonight or tomorrow.

If a team did not play a division game then I do not compare division records. I don't think that follows the spirit of tiebreakers, especially ones that solve themselves as games are played.

    NFC
    1. Minnesota Vikings (5-0)
    2. Atlanta Falcons (4-2)
    3. Washington Commanders (4-2)
    4. San Francisco 49ers (3-3)
    5. Detroit Lions (4-1)
    6. Green Bay Packers (4-2)
    7. Chicago Bears (4-2)

    8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-2)
    9. Philadelphia Eagles (3-2)
    10. Dallas Cowboys (3-3)
    11. Seattle Seahawks (3-3)
    12. New York Giants (2-3) (would jump Seattle with win)

    AFC
    1. Kansas City Chiefs (5-0)
    2. Houston Texans (5-1)
    3. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2)
    4. Buffalo Bills (3-2) (drops to 9 with a loss)
    5. Baltimore Ravens (4-2)
    6. Los Angeles Chargers (3-2)
    7. Indianapolis Colts (3-3)

    8. Denver Broncos (3-3)
    9. New York Jets (2-3) (would jump to 4 with a win.)

Jerry Jones had his birthday yesterday... he turned 82. He may have turned 100 by the end of receiving his gift from the Lions.

It was the Cowboys worst home defeat under Jones at home, ever. 47-9.

The NFC North isn’t just the best division in football. It’s the best division football has seen through six weeks since the league realigned to six, four-team divisions.

Per the NFL, the NFC North is the first division with all teams at four or more wins through six weeks since the adoption of the current format in 2002.

The Vikings, who were off this week, are 5-0. The Lions are 4-1, the Packers are 4-2, and the Bears are 4-2.

Next week, the Vikings host the Lions, the Packers host the 5-1 Texans, and the Bears are off.

Also, if the season were to end today, all four NFC North teams would make the playoffs.

As good as the Buccaneers have played they would be outside.

I just want to say that this honestly isn't all that special as they make it out to be yet but something kinda artificial. It happened because the whole division has only played one division game. It's still very impressive as they are taking care of business out of division unlike the NFC East who only have 1 more division game played or AFC East with 2 more, soon to be 3, but if the NFL didn't schedule it like it did then I don't know if it reaches the arbitrary record shown.

Totally agree. When the sched first came out I noticed right away that some teams have a boat load of Division games early, then the North ends their schedule with the majority of division games coming late. I dont know why its that way, but there was a huge discrepancy in the schedule balance. So, your point, imo is valid and it will be fun down the stretch to se what happens when the North teams go head to head.

Especially true for the Bears. There are 6 teams in the league with only 1 win. Chicago has beaten 4 of them and that's all their wins. They lost to the other 2 teams who are currently in the playoffs.

The Steelers don’t play a division game until week eleven. Now that’s putting them off

It's still crazy to think there are only 3 games before that stretch. Nuts that last 8 games are the entire division twice, the Chiefs and the Eagles.

Dan Campbell: Aidan Hutchinson out 4-6 months, but I would never count him out

Chances are good that Aidan Hutchinson has played his final snap of the 2024 season, but the Lions aren’t ruling anything out.

Hutchinson had surgery to repair a fractured tibia and fibula after being injured during Sunday’s win over the Cowboys and the Lions declined to give a timetable for his return in a statement about the operation. A report indicated there’s a chance Hutchinson could be back for the Super Bowl and head coach Dan Campbell said at a Monday press conference that the team will keep the door open.

“It’s 4-6 months,” Campbell said. “I would never count Hutch out. Ever. Long road, but I would never count him out. If anyone can make it back, it’s him.”

Campbell said the team’s eyes are open, but that they are “not in a hurry” to bring in any outside players to help cover for the loss of Hutchinson. He also said he has faith that defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn can find the right way to keep the unit productive despite the major loss they suffered on Sunday.
