Baltimore Ravens fire offensive coordinator Marc Trestman, name Marty Mornhinweg the OC in the interim.
Eagles played like crap the first half and was down 21-7. Came back to take the lead to run the worst last 4 min i've seen in years and then Wentz goes brickyard for no reason when you only need a FG and throws a INT bc his wr is a pussy, who doesn't fight for the ball. they lose to the freaking Lions! PU! The Eagles def was swiss and they lost. Pederson crumbled and Wentz threw a int. I'm fine with that, but the referee crew may be the worst i ever seen. A phantom chop block on sproles and it you take off someone's helmet that's 15 yrd? every Eagles drive was hit with penalties. And that fumble? Could you clearly see #62 in or out of bounds? Camera angles don't show him clearly in or out, yet they give the ball to Detroit? Hope they spend their paychecks well this week.
We only notice how bad the refs are when we lose. All the stuff you are saying happened to the Steelers against the Eagles.
bullshit gid. i've been watching hundreds of Eagles losses since the late 80's and i never saw a referee crew as bad a Sunday! And in a 1 pt game, the refs matter. Many Eagles drives were stalled with terrible calls. The Eagles blew out the Steelers, so im sure many calls were bad, but did they stop the Steelers from scoring to win the game? The game was a blowout, so how many calls do you want to go the Steelers way to win? Not the same thing in a 1 pt game vs a blowout!
I don't want to argue with you, but the Steelers got screwed big time on drives they stopped the Eagles where the refs called non existent PIs to keep Eagles drives alive that should have been punts or FGs at best and became TDs. Then they let the Eagles mug the Steelers WRs, you call those calls right and the Steelers @ Eagles is a close game maybe even the Steelers win. You got beat by the Lions fair and square if you think the Steelers @ Eagles was ok with the refs. You can't have it both ways.
so then go to every game and complain about calls then only if you lose? the Eagles lost by 1 pt in a game that Detroit had 1 penalty at half. 1! They had over 10 penalties. Refs played a part in many calls and drives. You're saying the Steelers could've won that game? Wow. You may be the only Steelers fan who uses a game 2 weeks ago as basis of bad referees to a game played yesterday. The 2 aren't related as the scores are totally different. The Steelers got their asses handed to them, they clearly weren't themselves and Williams was shut down. Even if the Eagles win on a FG, the refs were still brutal. I'll give the Steelers 3 more TDs to offset the refs, you still lose the game. I don't see how this is related?
The Eagles played better to offset the refs but still came up 1 point short. The Steelers against the Eagles didn't come anywhere close to offsetting the refs against the Eagles. There are too many lopsided refereed games in the league now. Not sure if the refs just suck or the league is mandating it to help boost ratings.
BLUE LIGHT SPECIAL ON TIN FOIL HATS IN AISLE 3 Good (great) teams overcome inconsistent officiating. These officials are human and WILL make mistakes. But those mistakes are consistent across the league, week in week out. Nobody is out to phuque the Steelers, Eagles or any other team.
that what it felt like. the moment they get a big play. a late flag came out. it was like in the movie Remember the Titans when the white refs were calling every flag on the Titans until Coach Yoast came out on the field and told the 1 ref he would go down to expose them all. the 1 penalty on the hit to Stafford wasn't even thrown by the ref close to Stafford. It was thrown by another ref on the field. ???
agreed. baffling call to have wentz throw deep when a fg indoors wins the game. terrible. im not saying it's fixed or everyone is against the eagles. i've been watching the nfl a long time and i can't recall a game win or lose that poorly officiated with replays...
Cat I can recall many that are poorly officiated throughout without consistency on both sides but this was the worst I have personally seen with the Eagles and the worst for any game I've seen this year and probably last year as well.
And talking about blown calls the refs blew it bad reviewing if the Mathews fumble was OOB or not. The refs were only looking for if the Lions player batted it inbounds while out of bounds. They never look at Jason Kelce touching it with his legs while his arms are out of bounds. The Eagles would have had 4th down and punted it, giving the Lions a longer field for the go-ahead score.
Look the NFL makes Billions of dollars, spends millions and it seems over the years their officials are only getting worse and a high percentage of challenges seem to be reviewed wrong. The answer probably is fixing it won't make any money for the league and owners but cost money.
No . . . the answer is that officials are human and no amount of money will make them perfect. Not even for the Eagles.
