I must be the only one in the world who STILL uses the useless half-time show to ignore what's on the TV and instead go re-heat food, re-fill a couple drinks, re-stock chip/pretzel trays, go to the bathroom (I'm sorry, Mr. Trump - that was disgusting)...

    Marshawn Lynch out vs Vikings.

RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has been ruled out of the NFC wild-card game against Minnesota.

The Seahawks released a statement late Friday saying Lynch did not make the trip for the Sunday game.

The statement from the team capped a day where Lynch's status changed three times. Coach Pete Carroll indicated on KIRO-FM on Friday morning that Lynch would play, then after practice in the afternoon said that Lynch was questionable and the team needed to evaluate him again before deciding if he would play against the Vikings.

With Lynch out the Seahawks are likely to rely on the combo of Christine Michael and Bryce Brown, who shared the rushing load the final three weeks of the regular season. Michael is coming off a career-high 102 yards rushing in the regular season finale against Arizona. (FoxSports)

[h]Dolphins expected to offer Adam Gase coaching job[/h]

While six other teams continue to search for their next head coach, the Dolphins have fallen for Adam Gase.

Miami plans to offer the Bears offensive play-caller a deal to become their next head coach, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Saturday, per a source with knowledge of the situation.

"The hottest coaching candidate is about to be off the board," Rapoport told NFL Network's GameDay First. "And Mike Tannenbaum, the new football czar for the Miami Dolphins appears to have brought him home. I'm told that (Gase) and the Dolphins have made significant progress toward him becoming their new head coach. Barring any snags, that deal should be official today."

With Gase en route to Miami, the Dolphins have cancelled their planned sit-down with Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia.

Gase was one of the hottest names on the market after his promising handiwork with Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, who threw just 11 interceptions this season after 18 picks in 2014. Chicago's offense was an up-and-down affair, but Cutler's career-high 92.3 passer rating only helped Gase's reputation as a quarterback whisperer. Gase also did fine work developing rookie running back Jeremy Langford for a Chicago offense that was hamstrung all year long by injuries to wideouts Alshon Jeffery and first-round pass-catcher Kevin White.

Gase has been talked about as head-coaching material since helping guide Peyton Manning and the Broncos to Super Bowl XLVIII. During his two seasons as Denver's coordinator from 2013 to 2014, the creative play-caller directed an attack that led the NFL in points, total yards and passing yards per game. [h]Tom Coughlin set to meet with Eagles on Monday[/h]

The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to cross enemy lines as they continue their search for a new head coach.

The Eagles will meet with the recently-departed Tom Coughlin on Monday, a source informed of their thinking told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. Rapoport classified the meeting as more of a feeling-out for both sides rather than an interview. Philly had to ask permission from the Giants because Coughlin is still technically under contract with New York. The Giants granted it.

The Eagles have already interviewed offensive coordinators Adam Gase of the Bears and Ben McAdoo of the Giants as they look to replace Chip Kelly, who was fired five days prior to their regular-season finale against the Giants. Kelly had two 10-win seasons under his belt before dipping to 6-9 this past season. The Eagles finished third following the Week 17 win over the Giants.

Rapoport added that it is unlikely the Giants would stand in Coughlin's way, should he be interested in the position. It would help New York avoid paying the final year on his deal. During his farewell news conference earlier this week, Coughlin was noncommittal when asked if he was done with coaching. Should he choose to pursue the Eagles' vacancy, he could be looking across the field at the team he led to two Super Bowl championships twice a year. How's that for a narrative? (NFL.com)

While it is a temporary location, tomorrow could be the last Vikings game at TPC Bank Stadium unless they win 2 and the Panthers lose their first game.
