Coleman rushed for three touchdowns, Matt Ryan passed for two TDs and Deion Jones returned an interception 90 yards for a score to help the Atlanta Falcons beat the winless New Orleans Saints 45-32 on Monday night. "It was real fun. Everybody was doing their job and everybody was playing for each other," Coleman said. "Everything clicked, and we got it done. It's a real big win for us to beat this team here." The game coincided with New Orleans' celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the Saints' memorable return to the Superdome on Sept. 25, 2006, 13 months after Hurricane Katrina. But there would be no reprise of New Orleans' dominant and emotional 23-3 triumph over Atlanta a decade ago. The Saints' depleted defense struggled to slow Freeman, who rushed for 152 yards and caught five passes for 55 yards. Coleman also was effective in the passing game out of the backfield, with three receptions for 47 yards to go with his 42 yards rushing.
I had Miami in my suicide pool this week. Big thanks to Cody Parkey for keeping me alive. Blowing THREE field goals (including the game-winner as time expired)...? Hope you're renting, son.
Thankfully, Dallas didn't trade away Ron Leary in the off-season. There shouldn't be much of a drop-off in quality of play.
Houston's Watt re-injures back, could miss entire season HOUSTON (AP) ? J.J. Watt has re-injured his back, according to a person familiar with his condition, and the Houston Texans expect the star defensive end to be sidelined until at least December, and possibly the entire season. The person spoke to The Associated Press on Tuesday night on condition of anonymity because the team hasn't confirmed the injury. Watt missed training camp and Houston's four preseason games after surgery in July to repair a herniated disk in his back. He started each of the team's three regular-season games and got hurt again Thursday against the Patriots. It's unclear if the injury will require surgery, but the person familiar with his condition told the AP he could be placed on injured reserve as early as Wednesday.
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/i...omment-about-nfl-becoming-true-215057982.html Mark Cuban's NFL prediction coming true? Wow-I certainly agree with a lot of this. Way too much NFL down our throats and on TV.
Dont mean to pick on you, Fish, but, Cuban is a bit off the wall himself. Mondays ratings were low because not only was the debate on, but the teams that were involved played a roll. I like more NFL, not less. I believe the product is thriving because of its availability. True NFL fans cant get enough football and the more on TV the better. Im tired of all the pay-per-view stuff myself, so when the NFL keeps its product on regular broadcast channels I think that is cool. Im a huge fan of the game and i cant get enough. Cuban will be gone before the NFL.
shocker Will. Cuban's right thought. It's shoved down our faces - wanted or not, that's his point. Before it was Sunday's and Monday night. Now it's Thursday night and Saturday games. Games are played in London, and where ever else they can play it. Coverage is on ESPN, NFL Network, ESPN News, Comcast Sportsnet, CNBC, and everywhere else you look. And Will with all the CTE cases, concussions and former players suing for owed money and rights, the NFL is not as clear and free as you think. You got parents today pulling their kids out of youth football due to injuries and concussions. CTE cases are growing. It's getting worse, not better.
Love the NFL, but I agree with Cuban. We're getting to the point of over-saturation. Thursday games, Saturday games...for me, it's diluting the impact. Baseball learned this with home runs - just because seeing a home run is great doesn't mean seeing 10 in a game is 10 times better.
Well, we disagree, Fish. As a die hard fan of the NFL, i dont consider the product shoved down my face. I want more, not less football. I think it's just perfect the way it is. Im not sure where you went with the CTE comment... ?
HOUSTON (AP) ? The Houston Texans have placed star defensive end J.J. Watt on injured reserve. The move came Wednesday, one day after a person familiar with Watt's condition told The Associated Press he had re-injured his back and that the Texans expect him to be sidelined until at least December ? and possibly the entire season. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team hasn't discussed his injury. Watt, who has won Defensive Player of the Year for the past two seasons, missed training camp and Houston's four preseason games after surgery in July to repair a herniated disk in his back. He started each of the team's three regular-season games and got hurt again Thursday against the Patriots. The Texans signed veteran defensive end Antonio Smith to take his spot on the roster.
Cuban is full of crap. The debate is something a lot of people wanted to watch because our country is in a critical state. The game wasn't two SB contenders so who would skip the debate. People are having a hard time figuring out who they want for president, and these debates are their only chance to make their decision.
