Honestly I came away a little more impressed with Howell. First time watching him play. I’ll admit I was a bit distracted with the holiday cooking at the time, but I felt Howell was the best part of the offense. At one point he was getting pressure on 50% his dropbacks, and not all of them were deep drops. Dude was running for his life and kept firing away, and gave his team at least a chance at a possible comeback. I’m here thinking how much better the Steelers could possibly be with Howell instead of Pickett. He makes plenty of mistakes but will actually take shots down the field. Anyways, credit to the Cowboys defense for not letting up and keep hitting the QB. The Cowboys DBs were pretty impressive, very few open receivers. Again that’s easier when they only have to cover for 3-4 seconds because the QB is running for his life as soon as the ball is snapped. As for firing Jack Del Rio, that likely isn’t going to do anything. Honestly what did anyone expect from the defense that traded away their top 2 pass rushers? They made plays, but Dak had pretty clean pockets to throw from and his receivers had time to find open spaces in the zones.
He was running for his life for sure. Its interesting to see some QB's and offenses strive in that situation, especially the 2- minute drill's. I also think Bienemy blew some key calls in that game... the 3rd and 1 at the Dallas 39 is getting criticized by some. The quick TD by Dallas late in the 2nd was really a back-breaker right after Washington scored a TD. Really the bottom-line for me is the Commanders are just not a good football team from top to bottom... and I agree on the firing of Del Rio, wont much matter at all. Dallas has won every home game they have played in blow-out fashion iirc, I read Rivera and the Owner, Josh Harris are buds, so he might be safe till after the season based solely on that. A little side note on Howell - He leads the NFL in yardage, but their offense is in the middle of the pack, ranked 12th with 343.8 yards and 20th with 20.5 points per game.
Howell leading the league in yardage is deceptive because the team has been so bad. They have to pass due to them playing from behind so much. I do think he’s been pretty solid this year though, especially through all the hits he has taken.
Odell Beckham Jr., Zay Flowers are expected to play Sunday Ravens wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Zay Flowers gave different assessments of their chances of playing through injuries on Sunday, but it looks like both players wound up in the same spot on Sunday. Beckham called himself a game-time decision because of a shoulder injury and Flowers said he was good to go despite a hip injury. According to multiple reports, both wideouts are expected to be on the field against the Chargers on Sunday Night Football. Beckham had four catches for 116 yards in his most productive game of the season in Week 11 while Flowers is the team’s leading receiver this season. Having both players will be all the more important with tight end Mark Andrews out of action. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that left tackle Ronnie Stanley (knee) is also expected to play after joining the wideouts in the questionable category. PFT
IT's HALFTIME... Titans 17 - Panthers 3 Jaguars 13 - Texans 7 Giants 7 - Patriots 0 Falcons 14 - Saints 9 Bengals 7 - Steelers 3 Colts 17 - Buccaneers 10
Falcons and Saints now tied for 1st in the NFCS (5-6)... They play each other in NO last game of the season... that could be for the Division marbles.
I wonder if we should penalize QB's when they run and dont slide? Josh Allen should have been popped by the Eagles defense on a couple of occasions, but defensive players have the 'rules' in the back of their heads that you cant cream the QB and you can see them hesitate. Im being half facetious and serious at the same time. That last run by Allen I was yelling, "hit him"! What are you going to do? Whanna act like a RB, you should get hit like one?
Don’t look now, but the Rams have played their way into playoff contention. With a 37-14 win today in Arizona, the Rams are now 5-6, and in the NFC wild card race, that qualifies as in the hunt. With a fairly easy schedule going forward, the Rams could be playing meaningful games into January. Today the stars were Matthew Stafford, who threw four touchdown passes, and Kyren Williams, who caught two of those four touchdowns and also ran for more than 100 yards. Rams head coach Sean McVay has to be very happy to see his offense playing this way. And the Rams’ defense had a big game against Kyler Murray and the Cardinals’ offense. Although Murray engineered a 12-play 75-yard drive and ran for a touchdown on Arizona’s first possession, after that the Rams stifled him. The Cardinals are 2-10, and the only thing they’re playing for is the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. But the Rams are playing for a surprise playoff berth.
Right now an alarm is sounding off at the 'REDZONE' broadcast center... they have been told to evacuate the building... no other details at this moment.
And now the redzone guy is back on the air stating that it is safe for him to be there... who know's whats going on, but the alarm is still going on, so is the broadcast.
