Youd have to pay me to go to an NFL game in these times. Back in the day, it might have been different. In todays world this is on-going at every venue every Sunday. The NFL could do something about this, but they are fucking retarted (so is the majority of people in todays world). Every week there are tons of social media post of this type of activity... and it can be curtailed. Like ive said on here a few times, the best seat in the house, is in my house. Goodell is a stupid shit, period. How can the safety of decent, high ticket price paying people be subject to this shit?
It was a guy that went by Jagsbch (or something along those lines) that would troll the Steelers board over at CBS. He thought he proved a point; but instead of saying class dismissed, he said class this missed. It’s been a fun laughing point still to this day.
Travis Kelce is close to becoming the fourth tight end with 11,000 receiving yards Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is closing in on a major career milestone. Kelce has 10,927 career receiving yards, which means that a 73-yard game on Sunday against the Dolphins is all he needs for 11,000 in his career. If Kelce hits that number, he’ll join a list of just three other tight ends in NFL history to have 11,000 receiving yards. The Top 4 tight ends by receiving yardage in NFL history are: 15,127 Tony Gonzalez 13,046 Jason Witten 11,841 Antonio Gates If Kelce reaches 11,000 on Sunday, he’ll be doing it in just the 152nd game of his NFL career, by far the fastest of any tight end to get there. Gonzalez reached 11,000 yards in 191 games, Gates in 201 games and Witten in 202 games. Whether Kelce keeps playing long enough to surpass Gonzalez and move into No. 1 all-time in receiving yards by a tight end remains to be seen, but he’s already in elite company and likely has at least a few more good years in his Hall of Fame career. Last year the Falcons had the most insignificant trade at the deadline (Rashad Fenton for literally nothing, as the playing time condition wasn't met to trigger the conditional seventh round pick), plus a contender for the second least significant move (sending backup DB Dean Marlowe back to the Bills for pick #245). This year's trade and practice squad pluck are also snoozers, but they're a bit more significant because of the timing. Grady Jarrett just suffered a torn ACL and is out for the year. Losing the leader of your defense is always bad, but the team is incredibly lucky that the trade deadline is now week 8 rather than week 6 and that they were able to do a little more to fill in the void. As it happens, Kentavius Street had the best year of his career playing for New Orleans last year. His defensive line coach there was Ryan Nielsen, who is now the defensive coordinator for the Falcons. So he already knows the concepts in Nielsen's defense, and Nielsen already knows how to use him. It's not a splashy move, but he's a useful piece of the puzzle and he's as close to plug-and-play as Atlanta could hope to find. The team also lost DT prospect LaCale London to IR in the same game. London had been a standard practice squad elevation two games in a row, then signed to the regular roster for last week's game. He's not considered out for the season though it may end up being that way sort of by default. The front office is using his loss as the opportunity to snag defensive line prospect Travis Bell off of Chicago's practice squad. Atlanta had scouted Bell closely ahead of the draft and would likely have signed him as a UDFA or possibly drafted him in the seventh round themselves had he not been taken with the first pick of the round. It's still "nothing to see here", but it's more than last year.
Vikings vs. Falcons. Jaren Hall vs. Taylor Heinecke. Feel the excitement. Oh well. Could be worse. Could be Raiders vs. Giants.
WAKE UP!!! lol Its sorta got a lame vibe to it, but its a big game for both teams standings-wise. Whats you personal take on Ridder, is he just benched or is this truly an injury reaction or precaution?
It was a guy that went by Jagsbch (or something along those lines) that would troll the Steelers board over at CBS. He thought he proved a point; but instead of saying class dismissed, he said class this missed. It’s been a fun laughing point still to this day. I remember him from CBS StlC.......I thought his Screen Name was CLASS and I think he was a Browns Fan ?
I agree with Will on this game Torgo..........Vikes vs Falcons It is a big game for both teams as your both 4 and 4.
Nope. He (Jagsbch) was (allegedly) a Jaguars fan. You might be thinking of "Showstopper". Another PITA
Matt Canada, the Steelers’ much-criticized offensive coordinator, will be calling the plays from a new perspective tonight against the Titans. Canada will call plays from the sidelines, rather than from the coaches’ box, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. It’s unclear why the Steelers are making that change, but they may hope Canada can improve his play calling with closer communication with head coach Mike Tomlin, quarterback Kenny Pickett and the rest of the players. Canada has been perhaps the NFL’s most-discussed assistant coach this season, and most of that discussion has been around the Steelers’ offensive struggles and the perception that Canada is to blame for them. Tomlin has resisted calls for Canada’s firing. PFT
A.J. BROWN - NFL Offensive Player of the Month... Brown led the league in receiving yards for the month with 700 and tied for the NFL lead with five receiving touchdowns from Week 4 through Week 8. He did so on 40 catches. _____________ DANIELLE HUNTER - NFL Defensive Player of the Month... Hunter's 18 tackles, five sacks, five tackles for loss and two forced fumbles earned the star edge rusher the NFC Defensive Player of the Month award. The 29-year-old leads the league in sacks with 10 and has helped the Vikings defense improve from one of the worst in 2022 into a solid unit this season. _____________ JORDAN ADDISON - NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month... Addison has continued to impress in his rookie campaign, putting up 297 yards on 23 receptions with five touchdowns in the month of October, earning him the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month award. The rookie receiver stepped up in the absence of star receiver Justin Jefferson, racking 233 yards and four touchdowns on 17 receptions in three games without the all-world receiver. _____________ DEVON WITHERSPOON - NFL Defensive Rookie Player of the Month... The rookie has been playing out of his mind lately. In October, Witherspoon recorded 17 total tackles, three quarterback hits, two sacks and his first career interception… which he took 97 yards to the house. Having a game-changing pick-six on Monday Night Football in New York is quite the way to get yourself noticed.
Deshaun Watson limited in practice again, Browns get several players back on the field Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson had the same listing on Thursday’s injury report that he did on Wednesday, but a number of other players saw positive changes to their status. Watson was a limited participant in practice for the second day in a row. Watson has missed three of the last four games and most of the one game he did start with a right shoulder injury, but said on Thursday that he is “getting better each and every day.” Wide receiver Amari Cooper (rest, ankle), right tackle Dawand Jones (shoulder), tight end David Njoku (ankle), defensive end Za’Darius Smith (rest, neck), and left tackle Jedrick Wills (foot, ankle) were all limited participants after missing Wednesday’s practice. Defensive end Myles Garrett (rest, shoulder) returned as a full participant. Three players missed a second straight day of practice. Wide receiver David Bell (knee), cornerback Greg Newsome II (groin), and defensive end Alex Wright (knee) make up that group.
It's a precaution... for now. But if Heinecke plays well and the offense has more "spark" with him, expect the coach to ride the hot hand. Ridder has been inconsistent, but outside of the Washington game the recent issues with the offense haven't really been with his passing. Simply changing from Ridder to Heinecke at halftime last week shouldn't have been a factor that would make the run blocking and the overall rushing attack better. But... it was. The pass protection was much better as well. There is absolutely no doubt that the entire offense functioned better in the second half. If that continues this weekend, yeah, expect more of Heinecke down the stretch.
Definitely a big game for Minnesota and Atlanta - and also noteworthy for New Orleans and Tampa fans. But before last weekend, a national audience would have been expecting this one to be Kirk Cousins vs Desmond Ridder, not Jaren Hall vs Taylor Heinecke. These are not the droids you're looking for. Move along...
If Ridder can cut down the mistakes, it would be a much better situation for him and the offense obviously, but in spite of poor protection and being forced to run for his life or make extra-quick looks, he's put up a ton of yardage through the air lately. I like Heineche, i think he will do well, but he may have to play under duress or pressure just like Ridder, so maybe he handles that better. Good luck Sunday. I picked the Falcons in a close one.
Thursday Night Football: Steelers improve to 5-3 with 20-16 victory over Titans Steelers receiver Diontae Johnson hadn’t made it to the end zone since Week 17 of the 2021 season when he caught a 5-yard touchdown from Ben Roethlisberger. At long last, Johnson made it back to help Pittsburgh win Thursday night’s game over Tennessee. Quarterback Kenny Pickett connected with Johnson on a go-ahead 3-yard touchdown with 4:02 left in the fourth quarter as the Steelers defeated the Titans 20-16 to begin Week 9. Johnson’s score capped an 11-play, 92-yard drive that featured a pair of third-down conversions. A defensive penalty gave Pittsburgh first-and-goal at the 3-yard line when it was previously second-and-goal from the 6. That’s when Johnson made his first touchdown catch in over a season. Johnson finished the game with seven catches for 90 yards, leading the team in both categories. It was another fourth-quarter comeback by quarterback Kenny Pickett, who now has three of them this season and six in his young career. He ended the game 19-of-30 for 160 yards with a TD. Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis was solid in his second start, though he and Tennessee’s offense could only find the end zone once. The visitors had a late shot to win the game, aided by a defensive penalty on fourth down that extended the Titans’ drive. But with 11 seconds left, Levis’ pass to the middle of the end zone was intercepted by linebacker Kwon Alexander to effectively end the game. Levis finished 22-of-39 for 262 yards with the one interception — the game’s only turnover. Running back Derrick Henry had 17 carries for 75 yards with a touchdown. Receiver DeAndre Hopkins had four catches on 11 targets for 60 yards. Titans receiver Treylon Burks was carted off the field after an incomplete pass on fourth down with 2:13 left in the contest. Burks was placed on a backboard with Prime Video reporting Burks had full movement in his extremities. Defensively, Pittsburgh’s T.J. Watt had a sack, two quarterback hits, and a tackle for loss. But Alex Highsmith was a menace in Tennessee’s backfield all night, recording 2.0 sacks, two tackles for loss, and five quarterback hits. Now at 5-3, the Steelers will host the Packers in Week 10. The 3-5 Titans will again be on the road in Week 10 to face the Buccaneers. PFT
