I can't believe they have the Steelers at 5.5 odds. The game is in Philly and they are playing good ball. Granted the Steelers are too.
Wentz comes through again as Eagles beat Bears 29-14 CHICAGO (AP) ? Carson Wentz followed up an impressive NFL debut with another solid performance, throwing for 190 yards and a touchdown, and the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Chicago Bears 29-14 on Monday night. Wentz showed plenty of poise, just as he did in his debut against Cleveland. Playing in the city where he was drafted by the Eagles with the No. 2 overall pick, he completed 21 of 34 passes and played turnover-free ball in his second straight game despite absorbing several big hits. "Throughout the week, I just realized I'm going back to kind of where my life changed so to speak," Wentz said. "It was cool to be back here, especially to come out here with the win."
It's been reported (not verified) that Charlie "Clipboard Jesus" Whitehurst has been signed by the Cleveland Browns. Maybe Pedro Cerrano needs to drop off Jobu as well. With rookie Cody Kessler getting the start this week at Miami, that will mean for the past five games, the Browns will have started five different quarterbacks.
I did. Thought it was fascinating, and wondered why MORE teams weren't doing it, since the Seahawks were obviously having so much success with it.
Pederson is not going crazy with the playbook. he's being simple and smart with Wentz and keeping it low key and basic. Wentz is not throwing for 400 yrs and 3 tds. he's playing good enough to win. his first 2 opponents were a decent test, but the real test is this week vs 2-0 Pittsburgh. Lets see how Wentz and the Eagles do on Sunday afternoon??
Wentz has been very poised. Also first rookie QB since merger to start and win first 2 games and not turn the ball over.
Could be the start of something for both Philly and Dallas - both rookie QBs have looked good, poised, and neither has turned the ball over.
the one where he had 2 guys coming right at him and he stayed in the pocket and delivered a strike, although called back on a hold was awesome. he knew he would get it and got it off within seconds of being hit and it was a dart to a wr. that was nice to see. if that was bradford, the pass would've skipped 3 times bf it reached the wr.
Yes, he did. I'm guessing it's more fun for fans to see him take some hits than it is for his coaching staff! Can't imagine there's many people who hate the Iggles as much as me, but there's really nothing about Wentz to dislike.
who brainwashed you to be a Cowboys fan when you were raised in NE Philly ? Where did it all go wrong Axe? lol
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) ? Chicago Bears linebacker Lamarr Houston will miss the rest of the season because of a torn ACL in his left knee. Coach John Fox confirmed the injury to WBBM-AM 780 on Tuesday night. Houston was one of a long line of Bears hurt in Monday's 29-14 loss to Philadelphia, along with quarterback Jay Cutler (sprained right thumb). Houston clutched his knee and was tended to on the field after trying to rush the quarterback in the second quarter.
SAN DIEGO (AP) ? The San Diego Chargers have signed running back Dexter McCluster to replace the injured Danny Woodhead. The move was announced Tuesday. To make room on the roster, the Chargers waived wide receiver-kick returner Isaiah Burse. McCluster has played six NFL seasons with Kansas City and Tennessee. He was a Pro Bowler in 2013. Woodhead is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee in Sunday's victory against Jacksonville. The Chargers (1-1) visit Indianapolis (0-2) on Sunday.
