NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported after the game that Garoppolo suffered a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder, according to someone informed of the results of exams performed at the hospital today. Garoppolo's chances of playing Thursday against the Texans are slim, per Garafolo, but the Patriots are hopeful he can return Week 4. Rookie third-round pick Jacoby Brissett finished the game for the Patriots, while wide receiver Julian Edelman was the emergency quarterback. Garoppolo was planted into the Gillette Stadium turf by Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso and went to the locker room shortly thereafter. Garoppolo grimaced in pain after Alonso landed with all his weight on Garoppolo's shoulder. (NFL.com)
I remember I said Stefon Diggs was going to be a 1st round pick when his final college season started. He fell to the 5th when all was said and done. Now it looks like they screwed up.
Browns might lose McNown for an extended period of time now. Kessler should be the starter against Miami now. Cleveland's luck with QBs is horrible.
An ugly evening for Adrian Peterson just got worse. The Vikings running back was ruled out of Sunday night's win over the Packers after suffering a knee injury in the third quarter, per the team. Peterson hopped off the field without putting any weight on his right leg before being helped to the locker room. The All-Pro back struggled mightily before the injury, amassing just 26 total yards on 14 touches before exiting the game. Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer told reporters after the game that Peterson will undergo an MRI exam Monday morning.
Who knew the NFL was going to do a Walking Dead Tribute Jonathan Stewart (Hamstring) Thomas Rawls (lower leg injury) Danny Woodhead (Knee injury left field on cart) Doug Martin (hamstring) Ameer Abdullah (foot injury seen after game in walking boot with a limp) Arian Foster (Groin) Adrian Peterson (Knee injury left field without putting weight on it) All left games yesterday with injuries that may also sideline them for multiple games.
Is it luck when they sign these guys with an injury history? They sign talented, but injury riddled guys in hopes they can get them through a season. RGIII has never had a completely healthy season and Josh McCown not only has a history of injuries, he is also 37 years old. I don't question the moves, I actually liked them, but they make their own luck when it comes to QBs. If the first two games are indicators of their season, they will most certainly be in line to take the best QB available, and imho, they better do that instead of trading down for more draft picks.
You can't become a winning organization until you get a good QB. They need to draft their franchise Quarterback next year.
Danny Woodhead out for the year. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/09/19/danny-woodhead-out-for-season-with-torn-acl/ Chargers running back Danny Woodhead is done for the season with a torn ACL, according to multiple reports. Woodhead suffered the injury Sunday against the Jaguars when linebacker Telvin Smith hit him in the knee. It?s a big blow for the Chargers and the second week in a row that they?ve lost a significant part of their offense to a season-ending knee injury. In Week One, San Diego lost wide receiver Keenan Allen. Melvin Gordon, a second-year running back who is off to a good start this season, will presumably get even more playing time now. Kenneth Farrow will back Gordon up and Andre Williams is the third running back on the Chargers? depth chart. The Chargers will likely miss Woodhead more in the passing game than in the running game; last year he had 80 catches for 755 yards and six touchdowns.
Adrian Peterson has a torn meniscus. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...n-has-torn-meniscus-still-evaluating-options/ It didn?t look good last night, when Adrian Peterson was being carried to the locker room unable to put any weight on his right leg. But Vikings coach Mike Zimmer isn?t prepared to rule out his star running back for this week quite yet. Zimmer told KFAN?s Dan Barrerio a few moments ago that Peterson suffered a torn meniscus last night against the Packers, and that the team doesn?t have a timetable for his return yet. While it would appear a longshot that he?d play this week against the Panthers, it also seems like good news, considering what it looked like last night.
Seahawks lose draft pick for violating offseason rules http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...lose-draft-pick-for-violating-offseason-rules The Seattle Seahawks were once again penalized for violating NFL-NFLPA rules that prohibit excessive contact in all offseason workouts. On Monday the NFL announced the team will be fined $400,000 and will forfeit its first week of 2017 organized team activities (three OTA days). Seattle will also forfeit its fifth-round selection in the 2017 draft. Coach Pete Carroll will be fined $200,000. The NFL and NFLPA independently reviewed the Seahawks' June 6 on-field practice video and agreed the team violated the "no-live-contact" rule of the collective bargaining agreement. The rule restricting excessive on-field physical contact during OTAs was put in place to enhance player safety by limiting contact during offseason workouts as well as an attempt to prevent teams from gaining a competitive advantage during summer months. Seattle was previously fined $300,000 in 2014 and docked OTA sessions in 2012 for violating the non-contact rules. In Monday's announcement the NFL also noted that any additional violations by the club will likely result in "significantly higher fines, the cancellation of future OTA days, minicamp days, preseason or regular season practices, as well as the forfeiture of higher-round or multiple draft selections." For a team that consistently finds diamonds in the rough late in the draft, the forfeiture of a fifth-round pick will sting Carroll and general manager John Schneider.
This is BULL SHIRT. Teams need contact in practice. Tackling is becoming more and more piss poor every season because nobody knows how to tackle anymore.
Interestingly, Seattle is one of the better tackling teams in the league, and has been for the last several years.
9-7 Eagles at halftime. Eagles settle for a FG after Matthews drops the TD pass. Wentz has looked very good but his offensive line and receivers have been letting him down. Also a hold call kept Celek from a big pass and that may have been my only chance at winning my fantasy matchup with Burton emerging as the catching TE this game.
Nothing that wasn't called back due to a penalty. And with the huge lead don't expect him to do anything but run block. And I cut Richard Rodgers for him. Only 25 yards but it would have been enough for me. lol
