I only posted each item once. Because I quoted a double post from you, my reply got posted twice. But I meant it both times.
The Steelers smack down the Redskins 38-16, believe it or not this is the biggest margin of victory for the weekend.
3 more than the Browns got whooped. That TD saving PI call at the end was the difference. It also saved Tim from losing a fantasy matchup as he would have lost his Yeary League opener if DeSean Jackson caught that for a TD.
The Rams' season couldn't have started off on a worse foot. Los Angeles defensive star Aaron Donald was ejected in the fourth quarter after he made contact with a ref. Immediately before that, he drew a personal foul penalty when he grabbed 49ers wideout Quinton Patton's neck and ripped off his helmet.
I know Power Rankings are subjective and don't matter, but both of the lists that I looked at placed the Browns at the bottom. This isn't to dump on the Browns, but rather to wonder what the Rams did to warrant being ahead of them? They failed to score against a 49ers team that is likely going to be near the top of the draft order next season. You can't tell me that Keenum is any better McCown. Yeah the Eagles aren't great either, but top to bottom I feel they are better than the 49ers and the Browns managed to score. I realize whether they are 31 or 32 doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things cause both are bad, but give the Browns a little credit. These guys aren't as bad as the media is making them out to be.
But the Rams were expected to push for a playoff spot this season. The Browns started where they are now. Probably the only reason.
But doesn't that make getting shut out by a team expected to finish near the bottom worse? I know these rankings have no barring on anything, I really just found it curious.
While it's a more unexpected loss, I'm not sure it justifies putting the Rams at the bottom. As stated earlier, the Rams were seen as more of a middle-of-the-pack team before the season started. You're going to drop them a dozen slots or so on the basis of one loss? To me, that'd be tantamount to arguing the flip-side of that case, saying the 49ers should now be considered a middle-of-the-pack team. And what, if anything, did Cleveland do to merit moving up? They played a team with a rookie head coach and a rookie QB, and lost by 19 points.
All apologies to Irish and Lyman, I think the Brownies are every bit as bad as they're made out to be.

METAIRIE, La. (AP) ? The New Orleans Saints have released running back C.J. Spiller, who signed a four-year, $16 million free-agent contract just last season. Spiller was a healthy scratch Sunday, when the Saints opened the regular season with a 35-34 loss to Oakland. On Monday, Saints coach Sean Payton said Spiller was scratched because there wasn't room for him in the Raiders game plan, adding that Spiller's role could change "week to week." But when the NFL posted Tuesday's transactions, Spiller's contract had been terminated. When the Saints acquired Spiller, they hoped his versatility and his speed would allow him to fill roles similar to those of ex-Saints Reggie Bush and Darren Sproles. But Spiller needed arthroscopic knee surgery last preseason and has contributed relatively little to New Orleans' prolific offense. In 2015, Spiller gained 112 yards rushing and 239 yards receiving in 13 games, his lone significant highlight being a late-game, 80-yard touchdown catch in a victory over Dallas.
my picks -- jets panthers skins steelers saints pats texans lions ravens seahawks cardinals chargers raiders colts packers and eagles 24-21
Thursday Night games = the road team loses most of the time even though the Jets may be better. And it's a rivalry game. Tough game to pick! As the Bronco's beat the Panthers with a with a 1st game start from Simien. I think 95% had the Panthers winning that game, no? Edit: We went through this last year about Thursday Night games and were discussing not to use them in the picks......
