It's very sad that one of the potential rising stars in the NFL is going to miss some serious game time. I feel bad for Vikings fans and especially for Bridgewater. Vikings fans are all too familiar with heartache (no SB wins, inopportune injuries, players seemingly hellbent on sabotaging their careers, or just in general acting like asses). Hey, that sounds a lot like what it means to be a Bills fan. I would like to give assurances that things will get better. But, I am a Bills fan, and I have no way to know if there's truth in this. Will things get better? The best I can honestly answer is: maybe. Good luck!
Teddy Bridgewater suffers dislocated knee, torn ACL Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater suffered a dislocated knee and torn ACL at practice Tuesday, the team announced in a release. "After undergoing an MRI, it was determined that Teddy suffered a complete tear to his ACL and other structural damage," the statement read. "Fortunately, there appears to be no nerve or arterial damage. Surgical repair will be scheduled within the next few days. "Although the recovery time will be significant, we expect Teddy to make a full recovery. I would like to thank all of the medical professionals and our athletic training staff for all of their help today. Teddy has already displayed the attitude needed to overcome this injury and attack his rehab." The injury announcement came about two hours after an emotional scene unfolded at Vikings practice when Bridgewater went down with a non-contact injury that ended the session after just 30 minutes. Zimmer said the 23-year-old had to be sedated before undergoing an MRI at the hospital. When asked if there was a chance Bridgewater could play this season, Zimmer responded at the time, "It doesn't look good right now." "We're not going to stick our heads in the sand, tuck our tail between our legs," Zimmer said about the bind Bridgewater's injury could put the team in. "We're not going to make excuses. "Everybody can count us out but I think that'd be the wrong thing to do."
That's a possibility. Dallas' schedule in the first part of the season isn't particularly daunting: Giants, Redskins, Bears, 49ers. Then Bengals, but that's at home; Green Bay is the game before the bye, and possibly the last game before Romo can return. Still think Romo gets the reins when he's healthy. Question is, how long can he stay healthy after THAT?
Don't know if I'm writing the season off - let's see where things stand when he can return (possibly after the Week 7 bye).
LOL! If they get to their 3rd stringer, it doesn't matter who it is - season's done. Same as ANY team that get's to its #3.
who is the 3rd string qb in wash and ny? i don't think they wanna lose manning and cousins anytime soon... for dallas it's dak prescott time!
Whoops - I misread what LAO Joe wrote. I thought he said Eagles fans hoped Dallas would be forced to use their 3rd stringer. My bad. Prescott's looked good - DAMNED good - in preseason. Hopefully with Zeke and a healthy Dez he'll fare better than Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel did last year.
Saints to sign ex-Browns LB Kruger NEW ORLEANS (AP) ? A person familiar with the deal says the New Orleans Saints and pass-rushing lineman Paul Kruger have agreed to contract terms, two days after the veteran was surprisingly released by the Cleveland Browns. The person spoke to The Associated Press on Wednesday on condition of anonymity because the agreement has not been announced. Kruger has started 46 games for Cleveland in the past three seasons, during which he's had 18 sacks, including a career-high 11 in 2014. Last season, however, he was credited with 27 tackles, his fewest since 2011, and 2 ? sacks, his fewest since 2010. When he was released earlier this week, Kruger said the Browns made "absolutely the wrong decision." The seven-year pro began his career in Baltimore and played for the 2012 Ravens squad that won a Super Bowl. Kruger also won a Sugar Bowl when his 2008 Utah team defeated Alabama.
Eagles fans know what looking good in the preseason is. Bradford is always money when it doesn't matter.
I know a couple local Philly talk show hosts who were just SALIVATING after Bradford's 3-TD performance against Green Bay last year.
Just like the Cowboys the Steelers lost their back-up QB (Gradkowski) in training camp. Landry Jones was the 3rd QB. Vick was signed after the Gradkowski injury.
Fair enough. Your #3 started and finished 1 game - and lost. I'd pretty much expect a lot of the same with Dallas.
No credible evidence, lulz...if there was no credible evidence after the interviews, there was no credible evidence before the interviews, either, and there never should've been an investigation or any interviews. The NFLPA is getting their clocks cleaned and doing nothing about it. People rail about Goodell and how much he makes...what's De Smith get paid?
Not sure I understand what you mean but Gradkowski wasn't hurt until 8/23 last year. Vick was signed 8/25. So he had very little time to learn the offense and it showed.
