Thats a good point, but the way Joe Burrows played last week and then down on the road in Dallas, I thought they were going to get stomped, but they managed to make a game of it. I think we are going for one crazy ride in this seasons NFL. On any given Sunday, anybody is going to win... very unpredictable, in my opinion.
Tua Tagovailoa makes his mark on Dolphins' history Mike McDaniel's "Madden" offense makes history "It was like he was playing Madden," Tyreek Hill said of Mike McDaniels' second-half play calling. Browsing the box score, it reads like something straight out of the video game. Tua Tagovailoa had 469 pass yards and six touchdowns. Hill had 190 receiving yards, while Jaylen Waddle added 171. Each player caught two of Tagovailoa's six touchowns. The Dolphins became the first team in NFL history to have a player record at least 400 pass yards and five touchdowns (Tagovailoa) who also had two teammates each with 170-plus receiving yards and two touchdowns. Tagovailoa ties Hall of Famers Dan Marino, Bob Griese in Dolphins lore When pondering Dolphins quarterback lore, the top-of-mind names ring bells: Pro Football Hall of Famers Bob Griese and Dan Marino. For at least one game, Tagovailoa can place his name among their ranks. Tagovailoa tied a Dolphins single-game record with six pass touchdowns Week 2 in Baltimore. Griese did so in Week 11 of 1977 in a win over the Rams, while Marino accomplished his in Week 3 of 1986 in a loss to the Jets. Both Griese and Marino were named AP First-Team All-Pros that season. Tagovailoa's 469 pass yards were the fourth-most in Miami team history and the franchise's fifth instance of 450+ pass yards. The list? Tagovailoa and four Marino games. Tagovailoa owns Super Bowl-winning head coaches Tagovailoa's list of fallen champions continues to grow. After joining John Elway as the only players to win their first four starts against Bill Belichick, Tagovailoa led a 21-point fourth-quarter comeback win over John Harbaugh's Ravens in Week 2. The Dolphins were just the sixth team in NFL history to make up a 21-plus point deficit in the fourth quarter and win the game in regulation. Tagovailoa improved to 7-1 against Super Bowl-winning head coaches entering the game. His .875 QB win percentage is the highest mark in NFL history among quarterbacks with five such starts. Mike Tomlin (Week 7) and a rematch with Belichick (Week 17) remain on the Dolphins' schedule this season. Hill ties a record set by Jerry Rice Hill went nuclear in Week 2 with 11 catches for 190 yards and two touchdowns. Not only was it the most receiving yards by any player with Tagovailoa as the starter, but it was also Hill's fourth career game with at least 10 receptions, 150 receiving yards, and two receiving scores. This ties Hall of Famer Jerry Rice for the most such games since at least 1950, when official game logs have been tracked. Regardless of the feat, matching any receiving record that has Rice's name next to it is an accomplishment in itself. Hill has had 43.4% of his career touchdowns come from 40-yards or longer, the third-highest percentage in NFL history behind DeSean Jackson (59.1) and Bob Hayes (47.4). In fact, Hill is one of just five players with at least 30 such touchdowns in their first seven seasons. Each of the other four are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame: Hayes (36), Lance Alworth (34), Jerry Rice (34), Randy Moss (30). NFL.com
NFL suspends Mike Evans one game Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has been suspended for his role in Sunday’s brawl with the Saints. The fight involved several players on both teams, but Evans took things to another level when he decked Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore. It’s the second time in his career that Evans has been suspended for a run-in with Lattimore. He was also suspended for one game in 2017 for hitting Lattimore. Former NFL player Jon Runyan, who now serves as the league’s vice president of football operations, issued the suspension and told Evans in a letter that, “Your aggressive conduct could have caused serious injury to your opponent and clearly does not reflect the high standards of sportsmanship expected of a professional.” Evans has the right to appeal, and if he exercises that right his appeal will be heard by one of the league’s two hearing officers, Derrick Brooks and James Thrash, who are jointly appointed and paid by the NFL and the NFL Players Association. If Evans loses the appeal, he will miss Sunday’s big NFC game against the Packers. Evans will also be docked one game check, which makes it fortunate for him that his contract is structured so that most of his money comes from bonuses and his base salary is just $1.12 million for the season. He will lost a little over $60,000 in pay for his one-game suspension. PFT
Chiefs linebacker Willie Gay has been suspended for the next four games for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. Gay was charged with misdemeanor criminal property damage in January after an incident at the home where the mother of his child lives. He agreed to a diversion program to conclude the case in July. After Gay’s January arrest, he continued to start for the Chiefs in the playoffs, and he has started both games for the Chiefs this season. Gay will miss the Chiefs’ upcoming games against the Colts, Buccaneers, Raiders and Bills. He is eligible to return in Week Seven against the 49ers. PFT

Monday Night Football: Bills crush Titans 41-7 as Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs do what they do It wasn’t a perfect night for the Bills. They punted three times; they settled for a red-zone field goal for the first time this season; and they have some injuries of concern. But on Monday Night Football, the Bills did what the Bills do so well. Josh Allen threw four touchdowns, three of them to Stefon Diggs, and the Bills scored 17 points off three Titans’ turnovers, dominating Tennessee 41-7. The Bills gained 414 yards. Allen completed 26 of 38 passes for 317 yards, his 15th career 300-yard passing game. His four touchdown passes tied his career high. Diggs caught 12 passes for 148 yards and three touchdowns, tying his career best. He is the first player since Steve Smith in 2007 with at least 250 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns in his team’s first two games of a season. Diggs caught eight passes for 122 yards and a touchdown in the season opener against the Rams. The Bills defense held the Titans to 187 yards, with Derrick Henry gaining only 25 on 13 carries. Henry did score the Titans’ only touchdown on a 2-yard run with 5:23 remaining in the first quarter. Tyrel Dodson and Matt Milano made interceptions of Ryan Tannehill. Milano returned his 43 yards for his first career touchdown, sending Tannehill to the bench in favor of rookie Malik Willis in the third quarter with the game a rout. Tannehill went 11-of-20 for 117 yards and two interceptions, while Willis was 1-for-4 for 6 yards. The Bills special teams recovered a muffed punt by Kyle Phillips and Tyler Bass had field goals of 49 and 37 yards. Buffalo did lose three players to injuries: Milano left late with a stinger, and defensive tackle Jordan Phillips sat down with a hamstring. Safety Micah Hyde was carted to the training room with a neck injury, and defensive back Dane Jackson was transported to the hospital as a precaution after taking a head to his head and neck area in the first half. Darius Slay, Jalen Hurts lead Eagles to 24-7 rout of Vikings The Eagles took care of business on Monday Night Football, dominating the Vikings from start to finish. Philadelphia took a 14-0 lead in the first 15:08 and never looked back, winning easily 24-7. The Eagles moved to 2-0, while the Vikings fell to 1-1. The home team gained 486 yards, while holding Minnesota to 264 yards, with 71 coming in garbage time. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts ran for 57 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries, scoring on runs of 3 and 26 yards. He completed 26 of 31 passes for 333 yards with one touchdown and an interception. Quez Watkins had the touchdown catch on a 53-yard pass. Dallas Goedert caught five passes for 82 yards, and DeVonta Smith had seven receptions for 80 yards. A.J. Brown and Watkins both had 69 receiving yards. Eagles cornerback Darius Slay starred on defense, holding Justin Jefferson in check. He intercepted two Kirk Cousins passes intended for Jefferson in the red zone. Slay also had one tackle and five pass breakups. Jefferson ended up with six catches for 48 yards. Cousins was 27-of-46 for 221 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions. He was sacked twice. Cousins is 2-10 on Monday Night Football in his career. PFT
