I remember about 8 years ago the Lions were 4-0 in preseason. I think Lions fans thought they were finally going to have a good year back then with a 4-0 preseason record. They ended up as one of the worst teams in the league. The moral: You can't judge teams by a preseason record. You never know who's in the game. Too many players. Roethlisberger has yet to see the field as has Brown. Tomlin is playing his defense more because their young while leaving the offense on the sideline.....
3rd preseason game they should all play while the 4th will be all rookies and fa's for the final cut......
Antonio Cromartie working out for desperate Colts The Colts' defense is in dire straits. Concerns over the front seven's ability to generate a pass rush have been trumped by a rash of injuries in the secondary, leading Indianapolis to kick the tires on a veteran free agent who has drawn little interest from the other 31 teams. Former Jets star Antonio Cromartie is one of several cornerbacks working out for the Colts, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, via a source informed of the workouts. Rapoport reported last month that the 32-year-old is battling "lingering" hip problems. In other words, Cromartie will have to pass a physical to sign on in Indianapolis. How desperate are the Colts at the back end of their defense? Top cornerback Vontae Davis is week-to-week with a "medial sprain" of his ankle. The other starter, Patrick Robinson, injured his groin in Saturday's preseason game. If that wasn't disconcerting enough, subpackage cornerback Darius Butler is nursing a hamstring issue after moonlighting at safety early in camp. Last year's third-round draft pick, D'Joun Smith, is still being eased back in after encountering a setback in his return from a knee injury that ruined his rookie season. Pressed into action with the first-team defense, undrafted rookie Darius White appeared lost on a 41-yard pass interference penalty and a Jeremy Butler touchdown reception Saturday night. Asked about the status of his cornerbacks on Monday, coach Chuck Pagano didn't mince words. "It's a little scary," Pagano conceded, via George Bremer of The Herald Bulletin. "It's not pretty right now."
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/r...odd-marinovich-arrested-naked-with-marijuana/ ex-QB Todd Marinovich arrested naked with pot. nice. so much for being clean and leading a good life. I hope it was good pot at least. hahhaa
Easy on Marinovich. I mean, who among us HASN'T been caught naked in a neighbors yards with a bag of drugs?
Now, now. A very small percentage of Cowboys are drug addicts. And by small, I mean no more than 60-65%.
Dez Bryant suffers concussion, out vs. Seahawks Those hoping to see more of Dallas Cowboys wideout Dez Bryant in the preseason will have to wait. The star wide receiver suffered a concussion during Monday's practice, a source with knowledge of the injury told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. The news was first reported by 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. There is no indication of how serious the injury is, but Bryant will not play against the Seahawks on Thursday, Rapoport added. Barring the (way) outside chance he takes snaps in the team's preseason finale, we will not see the playmaker again until Sept. 11 against the New York Giants. Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Bryant suffered the concussion after taking a hit off the shoulder pads of teammate Barry Church. Garrett added Bryant is feeling much better after experiencing concussion-like symptoms Monday. There is no doubt the Cowboys will play it safe with their star wide receiver. After seeing what life was like without Bryant's field-stretching abilities last season thanks to a broken foot and hasty return, the Cowboys will hope to preserve Bryant until the games actually count. Defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford is also in the team's concussion protocol and will not play against the Seahawks this week. Rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott, however, likely will see some playing time Thursday, Garrett said. Bryant took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to ease the concern of Cowboys fans everywhere. While every concussion is serious, Bryant didn't seem to think he'd be out for much longer. (NFL.com)
Damn. Would'a liked to have seen how the 1st team offense would have fared against the Seahawks, but I guess better now than in a final practice before Week 1.
