If it's a strike against Garrett, then it's a strike against Payton. Capisce? Overall, last two years combined, advantage: Garrett.
I could make a thread about macaroni and cheese and BFRLA would find a way to start a pissing match involving the Cowboys. Obsessed much?
It's a strike against every coach that comes from ahead to lose, but we're not talking about all the other coaches are we? Overall in the last 4 years combined, Payton was 38-26 while Garrett was 34-30. advantage: Payton.
If you're going to take shots at Garrett, then you're going to have to expect a shot back when that same metric can be applied to YOUR sacred calf. No kidding - never argued that Garrett was better overall. Try reading what I wrote instead of what you want to argue about.
Axe, BWW's comment wasn't worth replying to. Can you name even one thread IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, where I argued with you or anyone else about the Cowboys more than 5 or 6 posts? Be honest.
I thought it WAS worth responding to, given your entire body of work. This last year? No, no major arguments - although (be honest) you've still taken shots that if it were any other team than Dallas, you wouldn't have said anything.
But you argued that Garrett was better than Payton when you combine the last 2 years. I countered that payton is better than Garrett when you combined the last 4 years. What kind of point are you trying to make here...that Garrett is now a better coach than Payton because his last 2 years combined were better?
I say some things of other teams I talk about that you don't pay nearly as much attention to. Do you listen much when I talk to DunderMiffin or a couple of Falcon fans?
And he has been - by YOUR metrics. If the criteria - as YOU continually want to point out - is wins, division titles, and playoff wins, then yes, Garrett has been the better coach.
that's what YOU want to believe. I know Garrett didn't suddenly get to be a 12-4 coach in 2014 until Linehan and Marinelli joined. This year even with them, Garrett was no better than he was in 2013. I was talking a whole resume'. It's YOU that can only argue a year or two.
You mean division rivals...? Kind'a expect that. Dallas isn't a division rival. Kind'a be like me continuously taking jabs at the Rams, or Jaguars, or Raiders.
No, that's by the facts. And part of being a good coach is bringing on good coordinators. Third time - never said overall Garrett was a better coach than Payton. But judging by what you said above, it's clear than you need to make excuses as to why Payton's quantifiables don't reach Garrett's the past two seasons.
Who cares if I'm talking to a division rival or not? The point is that you pay more attention to my comments about Dallas than when I don't...football related that is. Incidently, the Cowboys and Saints were in the same division in the early years.
Got it - "relatively" speaking, you really don't take indiscriminate shots at Dallas at all. Whatever helps you sleep at night. What, for a season or two pre-merger...? Yeah, I guess that makes us division rivals. :-*
For the past year I hadn't. In fact I stood up for Dallas deserving a home playoff if it came to it. 1967 and 1969 but not 1968. For people in Northwest Louisiana, the rivalry between New Orleans and Dallas never ended.
True, but we need a team of our own. We had one in the WFL but that league fizzled. Later we had a CFL team and that didn't work out either. There's also many Steelers fans around here ever since Terry Bradshaw.
