Is he playing against all backups? Or third string players? The Dolphins aren't the best barometer but 4 TDs is impressive over any NFL team. They might have their QB after Romo now, but as Jean said its just preseason. Let's wait awhile before anointing him the next Tom Brady. He is definitely someone to watch though. Maybe he'll play with some of the ones in the 4th game. Or third game if the Cowboys are concerned about Romo's health.
Ya, I think he's going to get plenty of looks. Jones has made it clear he doesnt want to go FA for a QB. I bet he's praying real hard for Romo and for the O-line to keep him safe.
Bills release suspended Karlos Williams. Mike Gillislee, Reggie Bush and rookie Jonathan Williams are now battling to be the #2 RB.
He's got a 4 game suspension this year right? He could be had for a pretty cheap 1 year deal if a team needs RB help.
No clue, but it would explain the timing on the release. He was suspended pretty early in the offseason, so doubt that was the final reason to release him.
According to everything I have read it was performance related which included him being out of shape (round is a shape). Reports are he was gaining weight back he had lost and that the Bills decided he wasnt serious about football. Interesting that a team would give up so quickly on a talented 1 year player. Makes you think maybe there is more to this story than currently being reported.
Steelers' Bell speaks after receiving suspension PITTSBURGH (AP) ? Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell is ready to serve his suspension and move on. Bell spoke on Saturday, one day after the NFL suspended the Pittsburgh Steelers running back for the first three games of the regular season for missing multiple drug tests, which is a violation of the league's substance abuse policy. "I already apologized to my teammates, my coaches and Steeler Nation," Bell said. "I'm sincerely sorry about everything I put everybody through. It's been frustrating and I own up to everything. It's all my fault and I can't blame nobody else for that." Bell stood by a now-deleted post to his Instagram account he put up on Friday, offering an apology shortly after the suspension was announced. He initially faced a four-game suspension, but it was reduced to three games following an appeal to the league. Bell will be eligible to return to the active roster Sept. 26 before the team's Week 4 home game against Kansas City. "I'm glad they shaved a little bit of time off," Bell said. "The sooner I can get on the field, the better."
The Patriots have received some more unwelcome news on the injury front. Running back Dion Lewis is getting a knee "cleanup," according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. Lewis had surgery to repair a torn ACL back in November, but the procedure apparently required a follow-up. Lewis, who resurrected his career with the Patriots a season ago, is expected to be out for about two months and will start the season on PUP. But that's not all. According to The Boston Globe, tackle Sebastian Vollmer is likely headed to injured reserve. The former starter was already sidelined on the PUP list with a non-disclosed injury. He could be a candidate for IR-designated to return, though the team has not provided a timetable for the issue. In addition to Vollmer, guard Shaq Mason broke his hand. While not as difficult to overcome for an offensive lineman as a lower body injury, the thinning depth across the Patriots' interior offensive line has to be a concern. Bill Belichick has been in the habit for years now of cross-training his offensive lineman, which helps negate some of the issues. This has been an eventful offseason for the Patriots' training staff, and yet the prevailing thought is that the team will still be good enough to weather the storm. Even if Vollmer isn't New England's designated to return candidate, Marcus Cannon has played much better this preseason and knows the system well. (NFL.com)
Eagles sign Stephen Tulloch... finally. He will be the backup MLB. Important after Walker went down. I think it's a great signing, even if they waited a bit long and had to pay him more thanks to pressure. Tulloch's deal is worth up to $3M, with $1.75M fully guaranteed.
The guy can just flat out tackle... not bad for 3 mil. I forgot he's reunited with Jim Schwartz. I think he's a better DC than an HC.
He's a great DC. I had to convince Catfish that it was a slam dunk hire. As a DC he made his team better and even elite. The only question now is if Schwartz will try to weasel in more playing time for Tulloch at Hicks' expense.
slow down Joe- the '16 season hasn't started yet. he hasn't done a thing yet. I'm sure he's a great hire and the next Jim Johnson, but lets get some games under his belt first when the season starts. I'm not doubting you or him, but preseason doesn't mean much to me vs regular season.
