he couldn't coach a Pop Warner team of pee-wee's let alone a Pro NFL team! To go from Vermeil to Fox to Buddy Ryan was a see-saw of epic proportions!
Arian Foster to work out for Dolphins, Lions There are only two top-30 free agents remaining in Around The NFL's top-99 free agents list. One of them is Ryan Fitzpatrick, whose stalemate with the Jets has seemingly lasted as long as Deflategate (ok, maybe it hasn't been that dragged out). The other player? Former Texans running back Arian Foster. That may change soon, however. He has a workout with the Dolphins on Monday followed by the Lions later this week, reported NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport via a source with knowledge of Foster's schedule. While the veteran does turn the dreaded 3-0 in August, these two tailback-needy teams could use some insurance, or a possible starter, in case the Jay Ajayi and Ameer Abdullah experiments don't work out as planned. Foster tore an Achilles in Week 4 last season, and hasn't played all 16 games since 2012. But given his incredible production with the Texans, it could be worth the gamble that he some gas left in the tank. (NFL.com)
i thought Lamar Miller did a decent job in Miami. Surprised they didn't want to keep him. Now they are looking at a torn Achilles player. no thanks.
Justin Durant joins Dallas Cowboys on one-year deal With Rolando McClain facing a 10-game ban, the Dallas Cowboys are searching for help at linebacker. A reunion with Justin Durant is the first step. The Cowboys signed the veteran linebacker to a one-year deal Monday, the team announced. And even the team is billing the signing as a depth-related move. McClain suited up for the Atlanta Falcons in 2015, registering 82 tackles in an otherwise forgettable season under Dan Quinn. He was released in February. Durant played in Dallas in 2013 and 2014, compiling 73 tackles in 12 starts, and is familiar with the Cowboys' system. But at 31 years old, it's clear he's a stopgap at best. (NFL.com)
LB Justin Durant returning to Cowboys team needing depth IRVING, Texas (AP) ? The Dallas Cowboys signed linebacker Justin Durant to a one-year deal Monday, adding a familiar face to provide some needed depth on defense. Durant played two seasons for the Cowboys before having 82 tackles in 13 games for Atlanta last year. The nine-year NFL veteran started 12 of his 16 games for Dallas in 2013 and 2014, with 73 tackles and an interception. Cowboys starting linebacker Rolando McClain will be suspended the first 10 games of the season for his second violation of the NFL's substance-abuse policy in as many years. Dallas will also open without defensive ends DeMarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory, who each must serve four-game suspensions. All three can participate in training camp, which opens July 30 in Oxnard, California, and in preseason games.
Veteran DB Charles Tillman retires after 13 seasons After 13 seasons, two Pro Bowls and one Walter Payton Man of the Year award, cornerback Charles Tillman has decided to retire. Tillman announced the news on Twitter via YouTube on Monday, wrapping up a distinguished career where he played a big role on many great defenses. Drafted in the second round in 2003 by the Bears, Tillman developed into the leader of the secondary for the mid 2000's Bears defense that dominated the NFC. He started at least 14 games every season from 2005-2012, culminating in a season where he earned a first-team All Pro nod. Injuries marred Tillman's final years in Chicago, but he wound up as a huge contributor during Carolina's road to the Super Bowl, starting 12 games for the NFC's top team. Tillman missed four games with a partially torn ACL before returning to play on the injury in Weeks 15-17 and fully tearing the ligament. "I've had 13 amazing years on two great teams and I'm just thankful for the love and support that I got from my teammates, the fans and my coaches," Tillman told ChicagoBears.com. "I'm thankful to everyone who has helped me get to where I am right now because I definitely didn't do it by myself." (NFL.com)
Redskins superfan known as 'Chief Zee' dies WASHINGTON (AP) ? The Washington Redskins' superfan who attended games for decades in full Native American dress has died. Zema Williams was better known as Chief Zee. The team announced Williams' death on Twitter on Tuesday, calling him one of the team's greatest fans of all time. An article on the Redskins website says Williams died Monday. No cause was given. The Washington Post reports he was 75. Williams began attending Redskins games in a head dress in 1978. In 2000, he was recognized for his dedication to the team by being featured in an exhibit in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. A vigil was held for Williams on Tuesday night at the team's headquarters in Ashburn, Virginia.
The Houston Texans' most valuable asset is in danger of missing the entirety of training camp. Three-time Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt recently underwent back surgery, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, via a source informed of the situation. Watt will open camp on the physically unable to perform list, per Rapoport, but is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season. Rapoport added that the recovery time is 6-8 weeks, and since the surgery happened so recently, it puts Watt right up against the opening weekend kickoff. The Houston Chronicle was the first to report the news. Although Watt has yet to miss a game in his five-year career, he's now racing against the clock to get his body in football shape for the season opener. After playing through a broken hand and severe groin injury last year, he underwent sports hernia surgery earlier this offseason. With Brock Osweiler, Lamar Miller and rookie speedsters Will Fuller and Braxton Miller adding playmaking ability to a punchless offense, Texans have been a trendy pick to capture the AFC South crown and perhaps even make a run at the Super Bowl.

BFRLA, believe it or not, they were friends off the field. Or so it was reported when "Crazy Ray" Passed some years ago. And yes, now that you mention it. I can see a resemblance!
