If Carolina is upset then Arizona will be at home for the NFC championship providing they win their game of course. Even had the Cardinals won they would still be the number 2 seed because Carolina won so in a sense they didn't really blow it.
i hear ya mean Jean, but they looked ugly for a team with a bye. Like the Packers, it looked like a fixed game where Palmer didn't give a shit and just threw up balls for the hell of it. Total lackluster effort whereas this time of year should be peddle to the floor!
i saw on the NFL Network that the media played their relationship to be worse than what it really was and both guys were passionate about winning and sometimes clashed about that, but at the end of the day, was all water under the bridge. The players said they all loved Pagano.
5 1/2 years, to be fair - can't be expected to make the playoffs when you're thrust into the role for a 1-7 team. In the non-playoff years, Dallas played for the division title the final week of the season 3 consecutive seasons (once losing on the road to the eventual Super Bowl champions, and once losing by 2 points with their starting QB injured). Garrett isn't a great coach by any stretch, but let's not paint him to be some unmitigated disaster.
How many times in this 5.5 year span did he lead his team to come from ahead to lose? Before the 2014 season there were raffles betting on what game week he'd be fired in. Aside of last season, he is mediocre at the best.
And how many times did they come from behind to win? Again, Dallas played for the division title the final week of the season 3 consecutive seasons (once losing on the road to the eventual Super Bowl champions, and once losing by 2 points with their starting QB injured). Sean Payton has gone 7-9 the last two years. Is he now just a sub-par coach...?
It's called the NFC-Least for a reason...including this year. Dallas was still in the hunt for the division title at 3-7. Payton also went 7-9 and 8-8 in 2007 and 2008 before he orchestrated his Super Bowl run in 2009. He still has creativity but he just let too many star players leave.
The answer would be 22(give or take a game) which sounds great I suppose but it also means they were trailing in at least 22 games when they came back. I could look up how many they lost in the 4th quarter but I dont think you would like the results.
Hue Jackson to interview in Cleveland... Hue Jackson has emerged as a hot name in the bustling market for new head coaches. The Browns will get the first shot to meet with the Bengals offensive coordinator. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that the plan is for Jackson to interview for the Browns' vacant head-coach position on Sunday, one day after Cincinnati plays its Wild Card game against the Steelers. Jackson has served as the Bengals' offensive coordinator for the past two seasons, and is credited as a main factor behind Andy Dalton's rise to Pro Bowl-level heights in 2015. Cincinnati ranked seventh in points per game (26.2) despite missing Dalton for most of the final four weeks of the season with a thumb injury. Jackson has one season of experience as a head coach. Back in 2011, he helmed the Raiders for one 8-8 season before being dismissed in what was seen by many as a premature decision by Oakland brass.
Calvin Johnson might have played his last NFL snap. _________________________________________________________________________ Wish him and the Lions best. He sure started playing well coming down the stretch. Made some great catches.
